This plugin wasn’t working well for me and it isn’t maintained any longer, so I created a new one that works much more effectively and gets around file limits.
Try it out Export Media Library plugin here:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/export-media-library/
please I am all new to this world but I really need to get a copy of all the pictures off my web site onto my local computer
please need help
Media Library contains 1059 files in excess of 244.57 MiB
Note : Creating a huge zip file. This page may timeout before zipping is complete.

]]>It appears the author may no longer support this plugin but it still works great.
I noticed after opening one of my recent media library backups that many of the images that I deleted from my WordPress media library are still showing up in the backup, so the size of the zip file continues to increase.
Is there a safe way to clear out those old files so they no longer get backed up?

]]>downML is a great plugin.
It works as advertised but I noticed that another plugin I use, BackUpWordpress, did a backup the day before I used downML. The backup before using downML was 278mb. The downloaded medialibrary.zip file was 81mb. The day after I used downML the size of my site backup was 359mb. I did not add anything to the site, nor did I change any settings for BackUpWordpress. Note that the size of the later backup increased by the exact size of the medialibrary.zip file I had downloaded to my local computer.
My questions: Where (and why) is downML also storing that zip file on my server, and can it be deleted?
]]>Hi,
First off, great plugin. I notice that the subscriber role has access to the DownML dashboard option and can download the media library as well. Is it possible to restrict this access to only the Admin role?
Thanks!

Hi there, I like the plugin so much, thnks for that!
Feature request, please:
Be able to keep folders’ structure.
Once I downloaded the .zip file, how can I re-upload it to my new WP ?
So that all images will be populated at the right spot ?
for all articles, etc. ?
Thank you so much !
]]>Hey
What about suggesting adding your plugin to core as a feature plugin?
Feature plugins in 4.2 and beyond
https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2015/01/13/feature-plugins-in-4-2-and-beyond/
It would be great if one could download the full media library as a feature that is part of core.
