I haven’t found a use for this box. It is frustrating because it shows up when anyone looks at my page. It is an eyesore. Please help. I looked in my plug-ins but I don’t see a plug in called drag and drop. Thanks for your help.

]]>Thanks so much for your work on the Drag & Drop Featured Image plugin. It works perfectly with standard Post and Page taxonomies, but I’ve found a little issue with the custom taxonomy “Downloads” that is created with the WordPress Download Manager plugin.
Essentially, the issue is that the taxonomy has both a Featured Image area and a file attachment area – both of which I’d like to have Drag and Drop capabilities. However, your plugin only gives Drag and Drop to the first section it encounters. (If I reorder the sections so that “Attach File” is above “Featured Image”, then Attach File can Drag and Drop and vice versa if I rearrange the sections the other way.)
Do you think there’s a way to fix this issue?
]]>HiThere,
I was really excited to learn about your plug-in.
When i use a required feature image plug-in (to prevent user error from people who post), AND this plug-in, there is a prompt that says that i still need to set a featured image, even after doing so. This produces a situation where I can’t save my post.
Is this something that can be resolved?
Here is the link to the other plug-in: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/require-featured-image/
]]>Hey guys,
I’m sorry that the plugin has not been properly maintained. To be honest, I haven’t really had that much time for the past few years, but I’m going to try and be better.
I’ve updated the readme so that the plugin now claims to be compatible with 4.6.1, and my tests indicate that it’s still running smoothly, except for a few hiccups for some users.
Unfortunately, as I have not been around, some threads have been locked by WP staff, and I don’t seem to be able to open them again. So if you have any further complaints, questions etc, feel free to post a new thread about them. I’ll try my best to add any critical features and fixes.
Best regards,
Jonathan
Does not update without page refresh when images are inserted from media library. If a featured image is required to publish (e.g. Require Featured Image plugin), the presence of a newly inserted featured image will not be detected until refresh. This may be due to new core incompatibility with Instant Featured Images?

]]>Hello,
Drag & Drop works great on all the sites we have installed it on. Excellent plugin!
We have one site where the Featured Image settings menu item does not appear under the setting menu (or anywhere). It appears as expected on all other sites so Its clearly a site specific issue.
Removing and reactivating Drag & Drop did not resolve the issue.
My question is, where should I look for the missing info.
Is there a database table value that I can manually enter?
Or how can I force the menu item to display?
Thanks for your consideration of this request.

]]>I noticed that I drag and drop my featured image. What happens is that the wheel starts spinning but never stops. I eventually hit ‘save’ on the post and then it turned out that the image was actually saved correctly. Then I tried it again and it was not ready with uploading – but there is no way for me to see if it is done uploading or not.
Anybody experiencing this as well? Any way to fix this? Thanks,
Chris

I also use post thumbnail editor plugin to crop featured images. After installing drag and drop plugin, the link to “post thumbnail editor” is no longer available in the post page.
I can get to post thumbnail editor through media library, but I want to check here in case I missed some configuration somewhere, or if there is a way around to solve this.

]]>Hello,
when a requirement plugin is installed (I tested https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/required-fields/ and https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-type-requirements-checklist/), the “required feature image” from these plugin do not work. D&D Featured Image just prevent these plugins to see that a featured image exists.

]]>This is a great plugin! But it doesn’t allow me to add a featured image, then remove it and add the same image again. Or, more likely, it adds it, but does not show that image the second time around.
On sites with large media libraries, I can see this presenting an issue to more than just one person. Could you test this and confirm that what I’m seeing isn’t an isolated issue?
Thanks!

]]>Hi,
This plugin is amazing – but I need its functionality on more than just the featured image upload – I need it also for secondary images. I use the Advanced Custom Fields plugin to handle additional image media uploads, is there a way I can get this functionality on there as well?
Or can you suggest any other solutions?
Thanks!

]]>When I install this plugin on my local WP site, it doesn’t work display the Settings page. I managed to pinpoint the issue to this line:
(#217 of index.php)
$required_capability = $this->get_option_user_capability() || ‘manage_options’;
This simply returns “true” instead of the desired “manage_options” value. I had to change it to this for it to work:
$required_capability = $this->get_option_user_capability() ? $this->get_option_user_capability() : ‘manage_options’;
I’m currently running PHP 5.4.16.

You can see at this link what I mean. This was just a small image and now it’s blown up huge in the featured image box.
Any help would be appreciated.

]]>Hey Jonathan,
I love this plugin. Great work!
I would like to request an added column in the posts WP List Table with the drag-n-drop area inside for each post in the table. This would be enabled by the existing controls for which post type the plugin is enabled on.
Right now, the only way to use leverage the plugin is from the edit screen for a given post. By making it available from the list table, you wouldn’t even need to edit the post to set/change the featured image.
This could be a huge time saver in some cases, and just downright convenient.
I wouldn’t mind contributing to the project for this feature either if you are open to collaborating.

]]>First of all: This one is a total gem, it saves a lot of time and it is nice to use.
Any chance to get a feature where one can upload more than one featured image for a post? What I have in mind is to set up a slider, when there is more than one featured image present.
While talking about this: Another nice thing would be some sort of dimension checking for the insertet image.
Hope that I could express myself well enough, greetings from germany!

i am able to use the ‘select files and media library buttons, but that’s not the goal of this plug-in, right?
is there anything i should check on my end?
thanks.
