I’ve inherited a site using theme Twenty Eleven with this plugin installed. I tried making style and alignment changes to the menu, but found the plugin had no effect whatsoever. It’s a shame really, because I don’t care for the menu styles theme Twenty Eleven uses. I give two stars because of what I saw re the possible adjustments to menu styles this plugin offers. I just wish it would have worked with this theme.

Getting php strict error. PHP Strict Standards: Declaration of DropDown_Nav_Menu::start_lvl() should be compatible with Walker_Nav_Menu::start_lvl(&$output, $depth = 0, $args = Array) in /home/villageo/public_html/wdpr/wp-content/themes/smartbusiness/functions/dropdown-menus.php on line 113
Anyone know what code needs to be changed (note code was put exactly into a theme).
Found this

but don’t know how to fix.

Highly customizable. Works with no problems for me. You can change background color and which screen width it will activate, among many other options. Very easy to use and customize.

Good pluging,, but can not get it to work.. I’m using it on my side bar in vertical with my pages,,, but the drop down pages all drop down, and not to the left side… It works in the main pluging settings,, but not on the site….
I can not get the menu on the right side of my site, in the widget side bar,, and have main pages and sub-pages.. But,, the drop down pages keeps dropping down over lapping the other pages,,, and will not pop out to the left side… tried all settings and nothing works… I DO NOT know how to add some kind of tag to what folder and all that,,, so I guess i’m just out of luck…
may have to look for another plugin that works for the SIDE BAR MENU and not drop down!!
UP-DATE…….. AFTER SPENDING HOURS,,, HOURS, I added a menu to the side bar using <?php shailan_dropdown_menu(array(‘side_menu_home’=>’pages’)); ?> But,, it keeps adding a second menu to the bottom of every page i have,,, plus the menu on top!! This plug in is just NOT ment to be a “SIDE” menu,,, only a top menu!!!!! because you CAN NOT GET THE DROP DOWN MENU TO SLID OUT TO THE SIDE.. TOOOO MUCH BS TO WORK WITH… BE NICE TO HAVE A MENU LIKE THIS ONE THAT CAN BE USED ON THE SIDE WITH OUT HAVING TO ADD CODE BECAUSE IT DOESN’T WORK…

Design looks gross and is hard to use.
Turns out, you don’t need a plugin to have drop-down menus. Go to Dashboard –> Appearance –> Menus
Now click on the down arrows to the right of each page label. There is an option to move the page “Under” the page directly above it. This should create a drop-down menu without invading your webpage’s design. =) Works like a charm.
Sorry, developers. Thanks for trying!

What is the point of working on this plugin for so long if it isn’t compliant with IE 8.. as much as I want to pretend IE 8 and other versions of IE shouldn’t exist it doesn’t mean the dropdown menu should be completely broken for these browsers.

Probably the only custom menu plugin that actually doesn’t have compatibility issues with woocommerce menu cart pro! (&I’ve tried heaps of them!)
Very flexible and easy to manage/customize! Great work!

Disappointment ??
First: it creates a widget so for horizontal menu you need to have horizontal widget in your theme above, otherwise this plugin is trash.
Second: authors of the plugin links us to the info on how to create such widget if it hasn’t existed: however, info is not fully accurate, many things don’t check out (there is no parts of code they claim it had to exists) with the current theme I use and there is no clear description where to put the code exactly to make it work so I had to experiment a lot – took time, got it finally working with some error as to widget.php (about this there is no help in this hint, so we need to deal on our own with it).
Third: I finally had needed widget area but it was above all elements and menu in that place looked like crap and was not within theme borders. I am sure there is a way to customize it with further php coding. Don’t know it? Forget about making it work easily :/.
Fourth: Ii all has no sense if there is no way to turn off original or custom theme menu. How to do it? Dig further… No easy way out here too.
To sum it up: plugin options alone seem to be very intuitive and nice, however this is widget based menu plugin so without php knowledge it probably won’t work well on many modern themes where there is no proper widget area. I am using Andrina Lite and it was above my skills to use it. I tried, I make some of things working but I was nowhere near to have anything useful. So at the end plugin wasn’t useable, unless I wanted to create vertical menu.

I am adeveloping a web site and would like to use your dropdown menus. However I am running into three problems and am not finding any trouble shooting information on your website.
1. the horizontal menu bar is showing the widget top as a background. Nothing I do will remove it.
2. the drop down menus are not dropping down, although when I view source, they are there.
3. the menu shows up differently on the blog page than the other pages. On the blog page it moves down

I installed this as a vertical menu without a theme. It works well after I got done tweaking it. It was meant to be a horizontal menu; vertically it’s a bit of a pain. The markup is ridiculous, as my menu is nested inside NINE (arguably unnecessary) tags: a list, three divisions, and a table. Add to this the use of inline CSS (a bad practice in general) which requires the use of the !important modifier, hindering accessibility. This and other issues made it took longer than it should to get the desired appearance.
But it works well, with good animated effects, and it’s not so bloated that it noticeably slows down the site. I’d recommend it with the above reservations, and hope that the output gets cleaned up in version 2. You can see what I did at https://kpfz.org .
