Finally a widget display plugin that can actually be used on ALL pages. Needed something to control the sidebar menus of a Woocommerce site and this did the trick. I feel stupid for wasting my entire afternoon the previous day, trying to set with PHP something that is easily fixed with this plug in. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Some didn’t have enough options, some others just failed to appear when I needed them to most.

We are trying to upgrade DW o 1.5.11 but keep getting an error message:
Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.
Have tried deactivating and re-activating etc. but no luck.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a heavily dependent widget menu sidebar on my site (https://www.pcatww.com/training) and this plug was a savior in getting that done. But I do see problems when trying to just show posts based on category or tag (and specific to a role), and it’s not clear if the normal widget Visibility settings take precedence or not. I suppose that should be made clear in the documentation. Thx!

I tried several other widget plugins for controlling widgets based on page category. I also tried several different plugins for adding categories to pages. The only combination that worked for me was using Dynamic Widgets with the Category Tag Pages plugin.
Other category plugins may work as well, but I have a working solution that I am keeping.
The Dynamic Widgets setting is under Pages, then select the categories you want the widget to show or hide on. You need a compatible category plugin as I mentioned above. This earns my donation – thank you!

Works great for the most part, but recently I’ve noticed that some sites that are created in our multisite environment don’t create the necessary tables, so the plugin gives an error. We are able to get around this by manually running

where 100 is our site id. Not sure what’s gunking this up, or if it’s another plugin on our site, but just wanted you to be aware of this happening.
