The first issue: There is no consistency with the branding of your plugin.

Because of the inconsistency with the naming, the one thing that’s broken for sure is the rating images. They use the permalink of “plugins/ch4-book-reviews/star-icon.png.”

And unfortunately, with other custom post types, most people won’t know that they’ll need to refresh permalinks for it to work properly. So until then it shows up as a 404 once published.

I don’t know exactly what you have created here, but I know it does not work the way you have it set up. I had to edit the links just to get the ‘stars’ to show since the directories are mislabled.

Also – there is no possible way for this to work by adding /book-reviews to the url of the website. It does not exist.

The editor works to a degree.

Thanks for writing this great plugin. I was wondering if you have any plans to add more features to it. Like for example while adding a new book review, we can only choose book author, rating and book type. It would be nice if it had option to set an ISBN number for the book and a URL field so that book reviewers can link to the book on amazon or any other place.
