]]>I finally got the settings adjusted so the plugin usually works. But I am seeing some problems and hoping they are fixable. My site is updated to WP 5.5 and PHP 7.3. It uses the Oshine theme from brandexponents.
* ECAE makes the entire hero section and any padding/margin below it disappear on the main Blog List page. (At first, I also lost the content of my entire static home page, but adjusting ECAE settings fixed it.)
* Some images in the list and Archives are distorted or not displaying at all.
* Posts formatted as Gallery Posts, Image Posts and Audio Posts lose their excerpts entirely and only show titles. Audio Posts also lose their embedded player, but Video Posts work as expected and retain their excerpt.
Is there any way to fix these problems? I like the plugin and it seems to work otherwise. Thank you for your help!

I am one of the developers of the plugin brizy. Several users use our plugins together and they are stuck in an issue.
The problem is the function tonjoo_ecae_execute it is trying to modify our html and break it.
I tried to fix it in our end by removing this function from the hooks of the_content hook but this will break your excerpts for example in a loop where the_content is applying on every post in this loop so I will never know when to put it back.
The only solution, in my opinion, is to fix it from your end. for example to check the content that comes in function like here:
if ( strpos( $content, 'brz-root__container' ) ) {
return $content;
}
This if should be somewhere after the excerpt was checked so if the excerpt exists perform your actions on it if it is not and the content has the string brz-root__container then return it.
Can you guys have a look at these things?

We have recently updated WordPress from 5.4.2 to 5.5 but upon doing so, the Easy Custom Auto Excerpt has stopped working. i.e. our blog page is no longer showing excerpts, instead it is showing the full article length.

I use the extension https://fr.www.ads-software.com/plugins/better-image-credits/ to display image credit (also on featured images).
In the excerpt this credit is not displayed at the bottom of the photo, as on the post page, but within the excerpt text.

]]>I am looking for a solution to get this plugin working on single.php page as I have a most popular section in my theme which features recommended posts.
I want these recommended posts to have excerpt as well but does not apply the default excerpt length to those posts. Even with the wordpress function (the_excerpt();).
Is there some configuration I can do in the plugin folder to extend functionality to single.php or am I missing something here.

if option “use feature image” is set featured images do not display on :
– catalogue archive pages
– home page
(product pages and non-shop pages are OK)
I set the option to “use first image” and this corrects the display.

i am trying to show subtitles under each excerpt title, but the subtitle gets duplicated.
To achieve that, i have added this call before the last return statement of
tonjoo_ecae_excerpt :

This is the definition of show_subtitle:

Why is this?

I’ve found that the [wpmem_logged_in] shortcode doesn’t seems to have an effect on front page posts when Easy Custom Auto Excerpt is activated. The hidden content is still viewable even when the user is not logged in.
All the Read More links go to the latest post as opposed to the post they are attached to
