I had encountered a snag with Stripe implementation, and the EDD support agents were able to help me. They were quick, responsive, and cheerful! Also very clever, in figuring out what the problem was, even though as far as I can tell, it is undocumented. I appreciated their willingness to dig in and find the solution.
I very much appreciate EDD as a plugin, because it is focused on downloadable digital products (obviously) and thus removes extraneous complexity from setting up the process. Having pleasant, competent support agents is a bonus!

Just be honest it’s not that hard. Just be up front and say there is no such thing as a free version. sure you can download the plugin but if you actually want to be able to do anything with it you’ll have to pay. Just say that upfront dont even bother pretending there’s a free version when there really isn’t. Honesty goes a long ways nowadays since it’s so rare.

I have used Easy Digital Download in the past so was somewhat familiar. However, this time I had a bit of an issue and reached out for assistance. I only have a few downloads right now, so am using the Free version. I emailed support and within 24 hours (less I think) Amir had responded and helped me figure out the issue. He answered all of my questions and even tested my page to make sure it was functioning properly. Prompt service and awesome support. Thank you Amir!

EDD has made things so much easier for me than our previous e-commerce plugin. We use it for event ticket sales, online classes, donations… almost everything except downloads, and it works great. I appreciate the reporting functionality, even though many of the options are not useful to us. It has the right level of functionality to do what we need, yet it’s not so complicated and convoluted as something like WooCommerce.
Their customer support has been great. I’ve communicated with them about bugs/issues as well as to ask how to achieve something I needed to do that was a bit outside the box. They have always been helpful, and their existing documentation is pretty thorough to begin with – I have relied on that a lot too.

I have used EDD for many years with a lot of satisfaction. It is flexible and could grow with me as I needed more features, but the basic shop already works very well and a lot of add-ons are available to make it work the way I wanted it to.
Maybe even just as important as a good working plug-in is the amazing tech support. I had an issue with a recurring payment and support helped me out, really going beyond what I could ask them to do to solve it.
A great product and a great service. If you run a webshop, don’t look further than this piece of excellent software.

I’ve been running my WordPress plugin business on EDD since 2014. It’s rock solid, extremely well supported, and has stood the test of time.
We started with a simple payment gateway and over the years added software licensing, subscriptions, all access passes, marketing integration, invoicing, etc, etc. The upgrade path can sometimes be clunky but support are always there to help us find a way.
IMHO EDD is built on engineering, not customer, foundations so some of the interfaces and workflows out of the box require some customisation to remove rough edges, but that’s achievable because the foundations are solid. I never lose sleep due to EDD.

I do not recommend this plugin if you want to use it with Stripe payment gateway.
I recently came to know that in Easy digital downloads when used stripe payment gateway It gives them complete access of all your payment transactions happened through EDD. So they can access all your subscription transactions including customer details. Anybody can check their code to confirm.
I would ask EDD guys to give option to your customers that if they do not want to connect their account under you in stripe.com then they must be able to do it.
Also, your support response time is more than 48 hours even for premium customers. I had contacted them even through their given email as well but they did not reply for last more than 2 days.
