WordPress version: Easy Sign Up
Plugin Name and version: 3.4.1
Plugin is installed at this website/webpage: [ redundant link removed ]
I did this: Used the shortcode.
I expected the plugin to do this: Display.
Instead, it did this: Displayed with bullet dots in front of each item.
How may I remove the bullet dots on the left side, please?
]]>Hi, I have set up Easy Sign Up on a clients web site. It works fine, but we are getting a lot of spurious sign ups – ones with hex strings for their name and doubtful looking e-mail addresses.
I had the honeypot set on but that didn’t seem to make any difference. One small point, the honeypot test defaults to ‘other comment’ but the explanatory text says it should be one word. Is this a problem?
So – how can I prevent these spurious sign ups and only allow genuine people to sign up?
I want to send immediate invitation letter to the person who is just signed up and record his or her information to my mailchimp list for other purpose of mailing.
Is it possible to make this project with this plugin.
]]>Hi there,
Thanks for creating this plugin. It worked for me in the past but currently seems to be broken. It is not sending any emails. Not to the visitor filling in the form nor to the host.
I’ve tried to check if the wp_mail() function work by registering a new account (which successfully sends email) and also by using Contact Form 7, which also works flawlessly. I tried to figure out if there’s any problems with your plugin and enabled the plugin ‘Display wp_mail Error Messages’. It showed:
WP_Error Object ( [errors] => Array ( [wp_mail_failed] => Array ( [0] => Could not instantiate mail function. ) ) [error_data] => Array ( [wp_mail_failed] => Array ( [to] => Array ( [0] => **[email protected]** ) [subject] => **WebsiteName**: Easy Sign Up [message] => **name** ( **[email protected]** ) signed up and been redirected to link Phone: 0612345678 kaarten: 3 [headers] => Array ( ) [attachments] => Array ( ) [phpmailer_exception_code] => 2 ) ) )
// Note: I changed everything with ** above for privacy reasons.
Do you have any idea what’s going on?
Any tips to resolve it?

Hi,
How can a subscriber unsubscribe?
Thanks for your help,

Hi there,
I’ve recently added the plugin to a client’s website and it’s working great, BUT when someone signs up, the email is being sent to the client’s Junk mail with the following message:
—–Original Message—–
From: A Quiet Place [[email protected]]
Sent: 15 March 2018 12:09

Subject: A Quiet Place: Easy Sign Up
[This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they appear to be. Learn about spoofing at https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSpoofing%5D
Mary Smith ( [email protected] ) signed up and been redirected to https://www.aquietplace.co.uk
We have tested it in our office with real names and email addresses and every one has done the same thing. Is there a way to stop this?
Thanks very much.

]]>No comment line appears in my sign up form.
BIG problem with spam. I am using honeypot. Protection box is checked. Form Element name is Comment.
Do I collect these email addresses manually? I thought they could be directly forwarded to my list like in Mail Chimp as a subscriber.
thanks!
]]>I goofed! I am not a programmer but an idiot. Somewhere in the code I found where I could turn off autofill. Now I found that when I type in name and email no characters show up. If I go ahead and fill in fields and hit submit it does work even though I can’t see what I have typed. Is it because I turned off autofill and how can I redo it as I don’t know where I found the autofill in the code? I would appreciate any help as I believe this is a really good plugin and want to use it.
By the way I am 83 years old and am still learning.
Hi,
I am having some troubles changing the text within the “send” button” (I’d like it to say “Set me up!”) as well as the hover colour of the button. Can anyone help me out?

]]>WordPress version:4.8
Plugin Name and version: Easy Sign Up
Plugin is installed at this website/webpage: https://airport-security-parking.com
I did this: uninstalled everything, tested it on every browser, computer and mobile device, cleaned cache etc.
I expected the plugin to do this: The plug in HAS been working until yesterday. A customer fills in their name and email address and presses the submit button in widget at bottom of page, it is supposed to direct to the coupon page here: https://airport-security-parking.com/coupon-2
Instead it did this: On firefox it works, on internet explorer or safari or various mobile devices it doesn’t work and instead directs to this page: https://airport-security-parking.com/?esu_qv=true that says: Failed Nonce Security Check
I even found where it directs to that page and changed the ?esu_qv=true to coupon-2 bit IE still won’t work. Unfortunately I can’t make every customer use a specific browser so can we write a simpler code that just takes the info and redirects to the coupon page? I don’t even care about spammers just so long as they enter something and get the coupon. Please and thank you!

]]>Hi
I like the idea of simple email collection. Im trying to combine the email collection with file download. Would it be possible to open two links with one “subscribe” buttons?
Here is how i see the easiest solution:
1. user input the email and click the button
2. email being saved in wp db
3. NO email being sent out
4. instead, it opens 2 links: one “thank you” page and one file download link
Thanks

I’ve had 4 problems with the easy sign up plugin:
1. When I switched on the honeypot it even blocked me from signing up and said I did not pass the security! I have tried again today and it has let me through.
I was trying to identify if I had a spambot targeting my site, every time I switch on honeypot all sign ups stop, but when it stopped me I can’t be sure it is working right.
I switched on the honeypot as I’m getting between 1-5 sign ups every day on a new site and they look like regular emails but something is suspicious, some names aren’t real, some look based on my blog, and none will confirm subscription- not like the other question where a guy said he was getting 20 a day of long numbers, mine look normal except for a few. I am afraid to trust this new list.
2. Another problem is when I pasted text from wordpress into the welcome page some of the words had big spaces and would not correct and some of the email links would not paste in at all, some did but some revealed their long url instead of an active link.
I decided to change the welcome page to a confirm subscription page at this point. I do believe from a tracking log in my affiliate center that someone is sitting on my site, from Russia and perhaps China, and maybe US, and am taking steps to block their IP right now.
But I don’t know why the honeypot blocked me out and if there have been issues with it.
]]>A bot found my “Easy Sign Up” on my webpage and has submitted about 30 new users (no name, just random letters and number as name) today. I have the “Honeypot Protection” ticked, but not sure what that is really.
Any advice to elude this and other bots in the future? Any kind of “tick here to prove you are human” kind of option.
Thanks!
I would like to add Address as a custom field to my form. How can I do that?
]]>Dear Support,
First of all: I love this Plugin! It does exactly what I need!
My client says that people using Internet Explorer are getting following error messages. Rex our automated bot detector thinks you may be a pesky robot! Super sorry if this is an error. Perhaps you are using an autofill add-on or something similar. If so please fill out the form manually and we should all able to get on with our day.
Is this really something that has to do with IE? What can I do to remedy this?
Thanks a lot in advance!!
Best regards
Sanneke
A client of mine has been using Easy Sign Up without problems for months, but recently a spam bot seems to have found their site. Hundreds of submissions started flooding in. The honeypot solution has given some legitimate users trouble signing up (I think this has to do with automatic form filling that some browsers do), so I opted to try Akismet. We got an API key, installed and activated the Akismet plugin, and input the API key.
This doesn’t seem to be doing anything though – we’re still seeing spam coming in frequently.
This is the kind of spam we’re seeing.
Using Easy Sign Up 3.4 + Easy Sign Up Data Extra 5.3 + Akismet 3.3.
Any tips? Did I do something wrong? Can anything be done to help here? Thanks in advance.

Is there any way to change the title font? It is coming out small, grey, and hard to read. I tried adding style=”color: #ffffff;” to try to change color (and font and size) but nothing would change.

]]>Hi –
I have a blog title with an ampersand “&” in it. i.e. “S&P Cooking Lessons”
The resulting email title that gets sent out becomes garbled resulting in “S&
P Cooking Lessons: Easy Sign Up”
Your code is fairly well annotated, and I discovered that this error can be fixed, if in the file:
esu-form-process-class.php
if lines 112 & 113 are changed from:
$esu_replace_what = array(''', '"', '"');
$esu_replace_with = array("'",'"','"');
to:
$esu_replace_what = array(''', '"', '"', '&');
$esu_replace_with = array("'",'"','"','&');
then this resolves the problem.
You may want to consider this amendment in your next rollout.

Hi,
I’ve been using your plugin for the last couple years. I like the simplicity and ease of use of it. Recently, however, I’ve notice that the spammers have figured a way around the standard ‘honeypot’ security measure. I now am being spammed daily via your easy sign up widget. I wanted to let you know about this and ask if you are planning to add a counter measure to prevent this spamming (perhaps such as reCaptcha or something similar)?
Thanks for the plugin. I have used it for two years (though I must admit only two people have actually signed up, as my site doesn’t get much traffic) and liked it.
Best,
RC
