This plugin is causing memory issues on my site. I’m running into “PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size”. I found this issue on your Github, which may be related: https://github.com/awesomemotive/edd-hide-download/issues/32
]]>Hi there,
Is it possible to hide a whole download-category for certain users using this plugin? I don’t see the option out of the box, but perhaps with a code-snippet in functions.php?
Currently we’re using an old plugin ‘EDD Restrict Categories’ which does prevent downloading images from a certain download category, but does show previews and the blocks by the use of a password.
Regards, Eddie
]]>After a recent update I’m getting this warning:
Warning: array_merge(): Expected parameter 2 to be an array, null given in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/edd-hide-download/edd-hide-download.php on line 355
Is there anything that can be done to address this?
For now, I’m forced to disable the plugin to prevent the php warning from popping up when a visitor comes to my site.
]]>I am getting this warning in my PHP error log. What does it mean? Should it be fixed?
Warning: array_merge(): Expected parameter 1 to be an array, string given in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/edd-hide-download/edd-hide-download.php on line 304
]]>I have the plugin set up and I have the Hide Download checked on this page. It works on archives etc.
However, my theme includes links at the bottom of the page that link to next/previous downloads, and this ‘hidden’ download still shows up on those.
If you go to the page I linked to, you’ll find a link to Bundle: Bethany Perron. Click on that and you’ll see the link to the ‘hidden’ page.
Can this be fixed?
]]>Your plugin was recommended by EDD themselves. However, downloads won’t complete – please see here https://saiia.org.za/research/the-experience-of-south-african-firms-doing-business-in-africa-a-preliminary-survey-and-analysis/ – I have created a test page with the EDD button but the PDF won’t finish downloading, despite being only 500k.
Also, is there a way to hide the link on the button, without resorting to a ZIP file?
Many thanks
]]>The default redirect URL is set from site_url() but should be home_url() instead, as the two are different for some sites. site_url() is used to find paths to WordPress file assets (js, css, php), not the site home page, which can be at a different URL. For the default WP install scheme, these are the same, but for other types of installation (e.g. Bedrock-style, composer-based, etc.) they are different.
(Yes, I know I can override it with the filter, just noting that the default is incorrect for non-default site layouts. Thanks.)
]]>I was expecting a general disable/enable option. I can’t go through my 100 download posts and disable them one by one. is there at lease a way to have those two options enabled by default or customize it for that matter?!!!
since I’m not a coder I took a look at edd-hide-download.php to figure out if there is any true or false option to have them checked by default and made this line false for both of them:
<?php checked( true, $checked ); ?> />
those two options get checked by default but it doesn’t do anything unless you edit/save or publish your download post
]]>We are using EDD Hide on a physical marketplace website to hide the sold out products from front-end. We always enable both Hide this product and Disable direct access to this product options.
Is it possible to click the first option and it auto-magically enable the 2nd option either instantly or upon saving the product?
]]>Hi guys,
P3 Performance Profiler is reporting a very high load time when EDD Hide Download is active.
You can see here:
https://goo.gl/wZ4kZU
https://drive.google.com/a/itvc.net/file/d/0B0NgHaHLVrcybTBaS1p1dGYyZHM/view?usp=drivesdk
With the plugin disabled, the load time does down to 0.1s.
Can you check?
Thanks
]]>We are using EDD, Front End Submission (FES) and Simple Shipping plugins with Marketify theme. We would like to integrate EDD Hide into FES so our vendors can manage their products and offers independently.
On a note of giving our vendors more independence in terms of inventory management, would it be possible to let vendors use the EDD Hide features so that they can hide items or disable direct access to their own offers?
]]>So what i’m trying to accomplish is removing /downloads/ page and product pages because I have a onepage template and I only need the products displayed on the frontpage.
How can I disable all pages generated by this plugin? THanks in advance
]]>Hi,
I am creating a photographers agency to sell people pictures. Since some people don’t like to the in public gallery I am looking to hide some specific pictures from Galleries (any public) but be shown in search results using the picture name.
Can I have this with this plug-in?
Thanks,
Obed
]]>Hi !
The plugin works fine, redirection works and everything is good, but the downloads are still present in search results.
Do you also this issue ?
Thanks !
]]>The option “Disable direct access to this download” implies that the direct download URL to the file will be disabled, but that’s not the case.
I think for clarity this option should would better read:
“Disable direct access to the download page”
Btw, It could be a perfect addition to this plugin ??
]]>I am using this in a page template: [downloads number=”6″ columns=”0″ orderby=”post_date” thumbnails=”yes” excerpt=”no” full_content=”no” ]
The problem is that downloads I mark as hidden are still showing up there. Do I need to be doing something else?
Thanks.
]]>Problem:
? Product selected, payment submitted, and email with a download link is sent to purchaser just fine.
? However, once purchaser clicks on link within email, the actual URL link to download file (on server) is visible.
? I want to HIDE the actual URL that shows up in internet browser’s URL address bar!
EDD Hide Download:
? I’ve downloaded the plugin and selected “Disable direct access to this download”. However, the actual source link (file URL address on server) still shows.
? I’ve also used the DOWNLOADS code to create the product grid/page.
QUESTIONS:
(1) How can I fix this?
(2) Am I to ADD the script indicated (ID specific OR global) to the functions.php file AFTER enabling the EDD HIDE DOWNLOAD plugin and selecting “Disable direct access to this download” for each product?
(2) If so, are there any URLs within the script I should edit/customize?
FYI…
? It would be great to have a video to show capability of ID SPECIFIC script and GLOBAL script. Something to walk a user through proper setup.
Hi, I cannot find the short code to use so I can show the product on a certain page.
Thanks.
]]>I was directed to your plug in via EDD Basic Support.
When I installed the plug in, it seemed to override the EDD download limit plug in. All of the “sold out” downloads were back as if they were available!!
This is what I wanted to do: (copied from what I asked in the EDD forum)
I have downloads that have been sold. I don’t want people to have to scroll through a large amount of sold items to find the ones that are available. Is there any way to have the items that have been sold not appear, but still be available to the purchaser in case they need to re-download? I thought it would be a good idea to put the download in “trash”, just to get it out of the list, not realizing that the trash emptied itself and they are now gone. EEK! So, basically, I’m wondering if there’s a way to keep the sold items in the system, but just not shown in the store.
Thanks for your help!
]]>Hello, please can i use it to hide pages too?. like download and thank you pages. thanks
]]>Not blaming you cause i knew to check after updating EDD but just had several users take advantage of this being disabled and were able to purchase our upgrade bundle ($0), which we only use for migrating existing customers.
So they basically got nearly all of our extensions for free on this round. Will double check next time but several of your plugins were disabled again this round. just FYI.
]]>After much testing i finally determined it was this plugin, specifically the line
$is_bbpress = function_exists( ‘is_bbpress’ ) ? is_bbpress() : false;
I know that calling is_bbpress here results in an instant 404 and adds headers already sent messages to php error logs.
This only occurs on our sub forums.
I tried several different fixes using the query args themselves but haven’t nailed down a solution and cant really afford to test on production server to much.
Top level forums work fine as i can tell but had to disable this plugin as all of our addon forums were unusuable with 404s.
is_bbpress() returned null on those pages as well when dumped.
]]>I installed The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar: EDD Tickets and the tickets were created as a campaign and showing on my homepage as “Campaigns”
So I installed the EDD Hide downloads to hide the tickets from the featured slider on my homepage
However now they are hidden from the event as well. I saw you had code to fix the issue. However just like another user I had a fatal error on my homepage and the site crashed “fatal error line 0” with the code in the child theme function.php or using pluginception custom plugin.
Is there a fix in the works for this?
Hidden Downloads can be purchased by accessing them directly, unless they are also Events. Is there a way to tweak the plugin so you can still buy a ticket for a hidden product? I’d like to hide all of my ticketed events from my regular product listings and widgets, so I’m hoping a solution is possible.
Here is an example with two test events:
NOT Hidden: https://balloonacademy.com/event/train-cat-2/
– it pulls in the ‘buy a ticket’ section at the bottom of the page
Hidden: https://balloonacademy.com/event/train-cat/
– you can’t buy it
Thanks!
-Todd
]]>I am loving this EDD add-on, because I’m using the EDD Tickets by tri.be and all of my events are now also downloads. This plugin hides them from my product pages, but NOT from the EDD Most Recent and other widgets.
Is there a way to make that happen too?
]]>This plugin causes the bbPress topic to be hidden.
Replies are displayed properly, just not the original topic text.
I try to get the extension to work but the only thing that works is the option to prvent direct access to a download.
I use re-stored theme and in the store-settings the main-store-link looks like this https://mywebsiteurl/downloads/.
