I have activated the plug in and it works well but I would like to remove the checkbox (below) as some customers miss it. Is that possible?

I noticed an issue with newest Easy Digital Download.

In class-vgs-edd-eu-vat-compliance-checks.php:100 you are checking for isset($payment_meta['user_geoip_country']) but now it’s under key 0, like this: isset($payment_meta[0]['user_geoip_country'])

Hi is there a way to block every other country (inc US/Canada/Asia etc) other than the UK?
We’re using EDD to sell music but our PRS licenses only allow for UK distribution.

Just done a fresh install and I was unable to set the option to “Enable Blocking of EU Sales”. When checking this and clickinh save the screen just goes white.

I have put debug on and saw a fatal error. I noticed that in v1.2.1 you added the use of sanitize_text on lines 303 and 597. I think this should be sanitize_text_field (I have tried this out myself and it seems to be better).

I’m happy to raise a git issue and PR for this if you’d like, please let me know if you’d like that – it was prob not spotted as it only affects fresh installs of the plugin.

I noticed I have many instances of these two warnings in my error log:

PHP Warning: file_get_contents(https://api.hostip.info/country.php?ip=207.46.13.119): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /{my server}/wp-content/plugins/edd-prevent-eu-checkout/edd-prevent-checkout.php

Should I ignore it or fix it? I understand that I can change the setting in my php.ini to allow_url_fopen=1. Is this a good thing to do or does it involve lower security?

Great plugin and it works too! I am not a half-elf, nor code writing guru. At the end of the message telling EU residents they cannot download/purchase an item it has a little ‘why’. It probably leads to a website explaining them about the insane new rules. The link does not work, it just goes nowhere. How can I change that???

Just thought I should let you know that hostip.info doesn’t seem to be working at the moment.

I’m using 2 IP Addresses, one from the UK and one from Australia and the call to hostip.info (eg https://api.hostip.info/country.php?ip=176.35.77.154) both result in XX being returned. Further when I go to their web site and type in the IP Address into their look up tool, it comes back with “Location: … actually we haven’t a clue.” for both of these IP addresses. When I go to ip-lookup.net instead, it identifies both countries correctly. So they seem to be having a problem with their service at the moment.

I’ll look into installing GeoIP tomorrow, but thought you should know.

Running WordPress 4.0.1, with EDD 2.2.2 and EDD – Prevent EU Checkout 1.0 and the basic PayPal gateway.
