..was this release an accident? no accompanying changelog, kills the site with this error:

I can’t believe I just discovered this plugin today – I’ve been needing something like this for years. It’s exactly everything an online publisher could want for creating, managing, and organizing large amounts of content. The custom post status, the internal notes – it’s really just fantastic – THANK YOU!

Our college newspaper has used EditFlow for as long as it has been in existence and we’re grateful you keep improving it.

Great plugin, logical interface. But there are two huge downsides:
So if you’re not working with Gutenberg (which will be the default editor in WP 5.0) and you have no need for support: go for it! Great plugin!
In all other cases: find something better, and let me know what you’ve found, I need a replacement as well ??

Been using it for awhile after I stopped a subscription that did both editorial and social. Used another plugin for social and knew of this one. So gave it a run and it does exactly what I need. I create and work on several posts at once and currently post 6 out of 7 days. I need something that keeps me on track. I particularly like the metadata that really keep me on track. Incredible value for a free plugin!

Este plugin es de gran ayuda para gestionar el calendario editorial en un blog personal, pero cuando se utiliza en un sitio con varios autores o con autores invitados se vuelve imprescindible.

This plugin caused a problem with the WPML translation plugin. I waited two weeks for a support response. Nothing, no support, nor reply. Other editorial calendars don’t show this conflict.

When I deactivate the plugin, it removes my posts. Not good, so I knocked off 2 stars for this. Why is this important? If I decided to move to another solution, this is bad news.

I have a fresh install with no plugins and Twenty Seventeen and I get this error when I try to activate the plugin:
The plugin does not have a valid header.
Is this plugin dead?

Very nice workflow package, has everything I need for a mid-sized number of authors incl. time planning. The only thing that does not work is notifications. They simply don’t send on my system, which makes it awkward to getting review processes started. Since support simply doesn’t happen in the support forum (last one was 7mths ago) not any reaction on Twitter neither for Edit Flow itself nor from Automattic, I fear this plugin is basically not maintained anymore. Sorry!

I’ve used this plugin for a while and like it, but support has been lagging and there are issues (javascript errors, theme and plugin conflicts, and buggy behavior, for example) that have not been addressed. I’ll be deactivating until it improves in future updates.

I started using this on my little blog/tutorial sort of website. Being able to create custom statuses is a life saver!

Running a blog (https://churchm.ag) with multiple authors – both regular and guests – is made so much eaiser with Edit Flow.
It’s one of those plugins that I would pay a premium to use. Srsly.

Please ignore the low ratings that others have given this because they claim that it doesn’t work with other plugins….no plugin author can guarantee that there will never be a conflict with another plugin, and plugins should be evaluated and rated on their own merits (and how they work with WordPress), not with their interoperability (or lack thereof) with other plugins.
There are also some older low-star reviews left during an interim period when it appeared that EditFlow was no longer being supported, which no longer applies. CURRENTLY and for the foreseeable future, EditFlow is developed and supported by the team at Auttomatic, so you can be assured that they will ensure that it works with the current version of WP (and a reasonable number of older versions, not all older versions).
BASED ON it’s own merits, EditFlow is an EXCELLENT plugin. It is a MUST for any serious magazine-style content site, or multi-author blog where a tighter control over editorial content and publishing is needed.
The number of features it offers is amazing, it works great, and keep in mind that this is a free plugin! That’s a 5-star worthy plugin in my opinion.

unfortunately it conflicts with the Cornerstone editor by Themeco. Too bad. Could have really used the functionality for managing our online magazine.
Somebody give me a bump if this gets fixed.

Edit Flow is the most important plugin I’ve found for running a multi-author site and one of the absolute best plugins I’ve come across so far.
It enables a multi-author blog because it lets you move content between different queues and communicate with team members within the post editor on posts.

I don’t think this plugin is actively supported anymore. That’s too bad because this is a very useful plugin. There are not many options around which can do all of this.
UPDATE****
IT’S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 13, 2016 and I just got an update notification after I updated WP to 4.5.
Thank You!!!!!

Read this thread – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cant-publish-or-update-status
And, There is another support chain that indicates the creator(s) are no longer supporting this plugin.

Real hidden treasure. And I found out about this today.
I im trying to replicate some separate web based platform for projects, tasks, clients, inovicing, colored post statuses, etc… With this plugin is less headache.
But, it can be used for many other things.

Great Plugin

This plugin is fantastic in what it offers but unfortunately, the things that are broken are the little things that kill me. For example, if I quick edit a post using the WordPress mobile app, Comments will be disabled on the post. This is a conflict with Edit Flow.
I’m also not sure who is developing the plugin anymore. The contributors listed has become messy and I’m not sure if some of the people listed actually contribute anymore. I’m also not sure where to report bugs.
This plugin would easily be 5 stars and a life saver if it were updated more often and provided critical bug fixes. Until then, it’s a 3 star to me.

Can’t use it due to conflicts with other plugins. They fight and don’t work correctly. Really bummed as the power of the custom status is really awesome. I hope they can resolve these issues!

Hi Edit Flow Team:
We love your plugin for building a large publishing site. And we also love mailpoet – the best WP newsletter plugin.
However, your plugin renders mailpoet useless. If we enable EditFlow, then any text block in Mailpoet simply disappears if we click to edit it. This has been confirmed by a few users. Please look into this and help us fix this.
Thank you!
Sean

I was shocked to see something which is an “out of the box” plugin, work so great. This plugin is very stable, well coded, and well supported.
Initially, we had some troubles using it due to our theme’s use of CPTs. At one point we were aiming to do a site re-design over the summer to resolve this, but the need to do came much sooner. With converting our DB over, we found any trouble spots were immediately resolved. A second trouble spot occurred when the 3.9 core update came out and a conflict arose with Mail Poet. Daniel was on top of it. One look at the support forum, he was aware and working on it. I only had to sit back and wait.
I had spoken with the dev about a custom project to resolve those items which were trouble when we were using the theme that exploited CPTs, but it became not necessary when we performed website conversion and theme overhaul.
I and the staff depend on the plugin heavily. I’m still trying to think of ways to hire Daniel for news desk projects with regards to his plugin, too! I’m also using a hook he offered on the plugin’s website to hide the PUBLISH button until a certain status is reached; A necessary workaround due to a user role management plugin not performing as expected.
This plugin leaves us much room to grow into its functions, and we are experiences an incredible amount of growth. This plugin’s features are scaleable: From small site to large site it is simply all there.
The features we like the most are the CUSTOM STATUS and NOTIFICATIONS. They work for *everyone* at every level of user role.
I gave it 4 out 5 stars because it’s very close to being “all that and a bag of chips.” It is strongly recommended.
