For some reason I am getting a configuration error on the Contact Form 7 mail tab. It is in the 2nd email settings in the “to” field. As with every other form where I use this plugin, I have [verification] in that space. It is generating the following message:
“Unsafe email config is used without sufficient protection.“
In addition to this, in many tests, the OTP is not being sent.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Hello, I have installed and set up the plugin so far. Everything is displayed correctly in the form and after clicking on the button an e-mail with the OTP is sent.
However, when I paste the OTP from the e-mail into the field in the form, I get an error message saying that the OTP is incorrect.
There is nothing else in the browser console.
I have no idea what could be wrong. I have a multi-site WordPress, could this be the problem?
Another thing that doesn’t work is the editor for the HTML email.
Here, despite the Pro version, I still only have the text field and not the editor, as can be seen on the screenshot of the website

Thanks in advance.
Hello the plugin works fine with me for hotmail, outlook and yahoo but doesn’t send the OTP for Gmail users is there any solution for this ?
Hi there,
the verification works fine, i.e. when trying a false code the form can’t be submit and when using the correct code that is sent to the email address that has been filled in the email input field the form can be sent.
However, when the verification is active, the email address that has been filled in the email input field won’t get sent by CF7 to site admin, instead I get this (without the quotes):
“<your-email>”
See the two example forms below. Any ideas?
This works (verification not active):
CF7 Form tab:
First- and Last Name
[text* your-name 40/ autocomplete:name placeholder "Please enter First- and Last Name"]
E-Mail-Address
[email* your-email 40/ autocomplete:email placeholder “Please enter your E-Mail-Address"]
[submit “Send”]
CF7 E-Mail tab:
First- and Last Name: [your-name]
E-Mail-Address: [your-email]
I get this from CF7 via email to site admin:
First- and Last Name: John Doe
E-Mail-Address: [email protected]
The following does not work (verification active):
CF7 Form tab:
First- and Last Name
[text* your-name 40/ autocomplete:name placeholder "Please enter First- and Last Name"]
E-Mail-Address
[email* your-email 40/ autocomplete:email placeholder “Please enter your E-Mail-Address"]
[email* verification]
[text* verification-otp placeholder “Please insert the verification code“]
[submit “Send”]
CF7 E-Mail tab:
First- and Last Name: [your-name]
E-Mail-Address: [your-email]
I get this from CF7 via email to site admin, i.e. the email address “[email protected]” won’t be submit.
First- and Last Name: John Doe
E-Mail-Address: <your-email>

As I understand from reading your plugin page, that with the free version the verification button shows automatically, but it is not for me? When I add the verification button code [evcf7p_verify_button]
the shortcode shows on the frontend, so I’m not sure what step that I’m missing. This is the from code that I’m using:
[text* your-name placeholder "Your Name"]
[email* your-email verification placeholder "Your email"]
[text* verification-otp placeholder "Enter OTP"]
[text* your-url placeholder "Your Site URL"]
[textarea* your-message placeholder "What is your main concern?"]
[submit "Submit"]
Thank you.

Hi, I don’t have the pro version yet, but was wondering what is the default time out for the OTP on the regular version?
Secondly, is there / is there any plans for adding a feature that locks a user and sends an alert to an admin via email if a user has repeatedly failed doing the OTP.
Secondly, is there a { } to personalize the email to not say “Customer” but the user’s nickname in the OTP email?
Thank you!
Is there a way to hide OTP input until the visitor click on “click here to verify your email” button?
Hello,
