Embedly does NOT suit my needs. It has moreover taken over my entire web site and refuses to STOP functioning even when deactivated and deleted. It is forcibly connecting my site to GOOGLE DOCS which will allow all my documents to be downloaded, i.e. STOLEN.
How can I GET RID of EMBEDLY, please! I can’t even use any other plugin, now, this thing is a monster and has destroyed my mother’s gardening magazine site.

]]>My problem is some of my Soundcloud playlists embed properly, showing the full playlist on my WordPress post but others, like the attached link, just show the playlist image and below saying read this on Soundcloud.com, which then redirect you away from my blog to Soundcloud.
]]>When embeding to a website, the embeded site is shown in the editor as normal.
When publishing the page, the embeded site is replaced with a URL.
Problem is in wordpress 5.0 with Gutenberg editor.
Our site is in Norwegian language.
Will it be a fix for the problem in near future?

Sometimes the static image does not match the embedded content. It seems to be an image from a previously embedded post. This happens randomly.

So the end game is to get a image created in the post or better still a featured image created . The reason is when the post is parsed to social media a lot require a featured image

– I don’t know what embed.ly is;
– I haven’t installed any embed.ly plugin;
I edited an .htaccess file so that a user can’t directly call a .php file (they get a 404).
To test my .htaccess, I put an info.php file at the root level and another one under the wp-content directory. Then, I tried to access the files using the browser. Anything went fine and I could read my own traffic live with WordFence.
14 minutes later, I noticed a very strange thing: there were two attempts to access the same files (meantime I removed), this time from Ashburn, USA (I’m in Italy…), hostnames rigby03.embed.ly and rigby01.embed.ly, ips 54.221.198.105 and 54.204.20.250.
The question is: my info.php files were two custom php files, not something built in WordPress. How it is possible someone accesses two custom files I just created and removed?
Moreover, this happened more than once: an external user visits a webpage and 14/15 minutes after embed.ly visits the same page.
Please, could you help me understand what happens, where embed.ly takes the URL to make a request and why?
]]>The title links on the articles are suddenly too light to read (#eee) even though we didn’t change the font style in the plugin settings.
I tried to play with the advanced embed settings but it doesn’t update the title links on the page and I really need them to be darker in order to read.

]]>Great plugin, with one annoying feature : the “More videos” function when embedding a YouTube video. On my site, this displays three empty links to the homepage for some reason. Is there any way I can disable this function, which really disfigures my pages?
]]>I want to display embedlys at around 200px, so I can fit multiple embeds next to each other. In the advanced settings i changed the size to 200px, but there seems to be some kind of container around all the embeds (see link below).
]]>Embedly isn’t working in my posts.
In the dashboard sidebar, there’s an exclamation point (inside a red circle) next to the Embedly menu item. When I hover over the red circle, it says, “Please sync your Embedly account to use plugin.”
When I click “login” or “Activate with Embedly Account” from within wordpress, I’m taken to the Embedly webpage, where I get the banner, “Back to the wordpress plugin to connect.” (Below that, it also says, “Already connected” — not sure how to reconcile those two statements.)
When I click on the “Back to the wordpress plugin” banner, I’m taken back to the plugin, but the exclamation point remains.
I seem to be stuck in an infinite loop.
]]>I’m ticking the boxes to turn on minimal mode, turn off social, turn off light text to no avail. In fact, light text is not even using the dark background it’s just making the text light. So confusing.

I upgraded WordPress (and all my plungins) to 4.4.2 this morning and the Embedly stopped working on me.
? The icon for it not longer appears in the text editor.
? The previous posts using Embedly not longer show up as Embedly windows and instead just now show the link to the related content.
? When looking at the plugin settings I get a ever spinning wheel where it is trying to tell me how many “People are actively viewing your embeds!”.
I’ve turned the plugin off and they back on again and that did nothing so I am wondering what the next step. I am holding off on WP upgrades on other sites where I have deployed Embedly until I have this figured out or solved.
