This looked like everything I was after, a simple community based event calendar with user event submission, unfortunately with WP 4.7.2 there are a number of issues.
We’ve had serious formatting problems with event-o-matic recently: bulleted lists not working, at some points bold text didn’t work, and now those things are better but hyperlinks don’t work. You can see them in the editor (both WYSIWYG and text/html), but when published it’s just plain text. See the most recent event with this problem here:
cleanstreams.anshome.org/events/watershed-advocacy-stewardship-workshop/
There are two “click here” texts where the hyperlink is not showing.
I have just updated all my plugins. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
]]>Hi, thanks for your plugin!
Every time I hit my Buddypress News Feed page I get a notification of the events I created.
I like having the new event notification; but obviously I only need it once and when the event is created.
Thank you!

]]>Hi,
when exporting an event in the ICS/iCAL format, the DATE-TIME values which are stored in the local time-zone of the DB are exported as UTC.
The reason seems to be in event-o-matic.php around line 1440:
echo "TRANSP:TRANSPARENT\r\n"; // for availability.
echo sprintf("DTSTART;VALUE=DATE-TIME:%s\r\n",date('Ymd\THis\Z',$start));
echo sprintf("DTEND;VALUE=DATE-TIME:%s\r\n",date('Ymd\THis\Z',$end));
echo "END:VEVENT\r\n";
The – manually entered – trailing \Z
in the calls to date(...)
indicate that the values are in UTC – which simply is not true normally.
Here is the email we get every few days:
A new event has been created : \n\nPipactick – 2016-01-04 15:03:16: https://redlandsgroup.com/?post_type=feedback&p=8397
We haven’t set anything up.
Thanks, Dino
]]>When someone registers, there is a message for them to check their email. No email is ever received. So they can’t log in to create an event.
How to remove the event-o-matic header from the page? I have the page listed in my navigation and the EOM shows a second header. I’d like to delete it.
I hope there is support for this, there doesn’t seem to be much action recently on this support thread, and the creator’s website is kaput. ??
]]>I don’t remember how the plugin works by itself, but I somehow disallow users to create events or locations or anything until they have an active account (it may be through another plugin, or it could be a setting that’s native to EOM). Anyway… is there a way I can see which user submits any given event? The website I’m asking about is for a Christian radio station, so we like to filter our users, events, etc. We didn’t get our filtering system in place until a few months after our WP site was active, so there are some users that didn’t go through to same filtering process as others. If there’s a way to see what user created an event, that would help us a lot in our filtering process. If that feature doesn’t exist, I think it would be a handy addition.
P.S. I’m aware that you can see who last edited an event, post, etc if you look at the past versions, but that doesn’t seem to work before an event is published.
Thanks in advance for your help!
]]>Hello, I have version 5.6.1 I was wondering if there is a way to add a feild to the registration form?
Currently the only fields are user name and email address.
Unfortunately the users are not filling out their profile info and it is making it hard to keep up with who is registered.
I would like to add an artist feild to that portion.
Also the text in this box is not showing up when I type. I hade to type this in note pad and paste it in here (FYI).
]]>I finally upgraded to the new version of EOM…wow, you weren’t kidding that is was a total re-write! Nice job! Two questions…is it required that people set up an account to post an event or is there someplace I can turn that off? Secondly, I imported about 1300 venues and they came through fine, but on the drop-down box on the New Event Page they are in random order. Is there a way to get those to display in alphabetical order again? Thanks Matthews!
]]>HI,
Great plugin- I plan to donate,.
Have read thru forums but no solution to my prob:
My events page fits 3 rows of 4 across (12 events/pics) however only 10 pics are showing on the page with rest moving on to page 2. it looks odd. The places page still shows 12 (although I only have 12 places to date so maybe this will also be an issue when I make more.) I checked thru the plugin files to see if any option to chang – no joy.
my general post reading settings on wp are to 12.
any ideas?

Many thanks in advance
ps I see a few years ago you mentioned the plan to enable events to be posts – great for seo- any moves on that?
pps maps work fine in Ireland and UK

]]>I can’t find a demo link or an answer this anywhere, but is there an actual calendar view for this? The events page is basically just long blog posts (not even excerpts, so if an event has a long description a viewer would be scrolling a lot to see the top 10 events). I need more of a visual calendar or excerpts of events. Is this possible?
]]>I have set up the submission form on my site https://www.eastwordnews.com. I attempted to test it to see how well it works. The form asks for a location, however there is no way to enter one without dashboard access and adding a new location in “Places.” This does not work well with a community driven events list. The “Community” cannot enter the place, and the form will not accept the submission without the location selected from the drop-down box.
Is there any way to allow the submitter to just put in an address that will work?
I’m at a bit of a loss here.
Thank you so much for your attention and consideration.

]]>Using Version 5.6.1
Is it possible to have a kind of ‘featured image’ for venues and events? They could show up in their respective lists. Any thoughts?
Great plugin!
Thank you.

These events are not past tense, so “Archives” doesn’t seem right. I want the page title to say “Events”… is that possible?
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
My blog (smoothmind.com) has a Digital Events section powered by your plugin. The page for events is:
https://smoothmind.com/digital-events/
While I can find old articles by typing in their direct event URL, I am unable to see these events as an archive of listings in the page URL highlighted above.
Originally, the code I had implemented on this page was:
[eom-events]
I have seen some of your previous responses to listing events on a page and have tried the method you suggested from the appearances>menu but with or without [eom-events] this page is not showing archived listings.
Is there way to enable old events to show on this page until I am able to add upcoming events so that it does not show an empty page?
Thanks,
Gopesh
I’m using EOM and the wp-rss-aggregator plug-in.
Having an issue: every time a feed source is updated from the aggregator plug-in, an email notification for a “new event” is sent.
For example, one just received: “A new event has been created : \n\nMill Creek falls to Dacula in slugfest, 28-21:”
When I activated the EOM plug-in, I created one event, and that’s still the only one listed on my events page. In other words, the emails I’m getting about my Aggregator’s feeds creating new events are not being reflected by creation of new events on my site.
I hope this makes sense.

I install Event-O-Matic and I have a problem with the button sumbit event when i push it I get an error. the error says:Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\event-o-matic\event-o-matic.php on line 1036. what i should do to fix it?

With prior versions of EOM, I had created a page (not a post archive) with upcoming events using the defunct shortcode. I also could create a listing of past events using that shortcode with when=”archive” included. Is it possible to do the same with the new version of EOM? If so, how? I can’t find any support for transitioning these valuable features with v5.5.4.
I am using WP 3.8.3–I’ve been hesitant to update to 3.9.1 until I resolve these issues.
I appreciate whatever you can offer to help.
Thanks,
Richie
I created a client site using a previous version of Event-O-Matic. I used the [eom-events] shortcode on a Page and added a custom sidebar with different widgets. Now that there is no events shortcode, I can’t find a way to have the vents listed on a page with a custom sidebar. Also, my images are no longer showing up in the new Events page listing.
I would appreciate your help as my client’s site is live and the events are critical.
Thank You.
]]>When I view the events list (Archive) it shows the author as Admin, not the user who posted it. Is there a way to show the actual user?

]]>I installed and activated the plugin and someone submitted an event today but I do not see it anywhere.
When I go to the link designated to see the events, I get a broken link message. https://ryfthemagazine.com/community-events/
The page where people can submit does work. https://ryfthemagazine.com/submit/events/
But what can I do so that the events submitted are viewable? When I preview the page all I see are the codes ([eom-events / [eom-events when=”archives”] )
Don’t know what else to do, I’ve deleted and recreated the pages and links.
