Hello. I’ve been using this plugin successfully for a long time to import CSV data into Event Organiser, but when trying it recently, it doesn’t seem to work. I believe that all of my stuff is up to date:
Wordpress: 5.1.1
Event Organiser: 3.7.6
Event Organiser CSV: 0.3.2
I can get to the screen where you can select the import file, and I can do the “choose file” step, but when I press the “Upload file and import” button, I’m taken to a page that only says “Import Events” with no other content. I’m using a CSV template that has worked well in the past, the file isn’t over 2 MB, and I don’t see any errors on the page or in the browser console. I realize that the CSV import plugin is still technically in beta, but any help would be appreciated. It always worked so well before.
]]>I would like to be able to have columns in the csv file containing the custom_field attributes for each event. These should also import well from a csv file.
]]>I would like to be able to import carefully generated csv files (for example after editing the ones that are exported by the plugin). Therefore, to save time I would like the plugin to set all the headers to the right ones (since the ordering of the columns will be correct). Is there a way to do this with the current version?
Thank you!
]]>can we use this plugin or some other method to import just a list of venues?
]]>I’ve successfully imported my events from a CSV file, and I added the little bit of code so it creates Venues, Categories, and Tags if they’re not found.
It is creating the Venues, but it’s not connecting up the fields for the venues like address, postcode, city, etc. I’ve added those fields to my CSV file, but the Importer does not allow me to describe those fields. I tried saying they were Postmeta, but that didn’t work.
Is there a way to get the address info built into the Venue object that gets created?
If not, what’s the best approach to setting these fields? If Venues are a custom post type, then what are the names of the postmeta fields I should set with the address fields for my Venues? I’m happy to write the code to do this if it doesn’t already, but I’d appreciate any pointers you might have to get me jumpstarted, like where to hook into the flow. Maybe this should just be a standalone function that reads my CSV file and creates the Venue objects directly?
If anybody is interested, I’ve already written a PHP module to export Events and Venues from The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe, and then format it for input by this plugin’s CSV importer. You’re welcome to the code if you have a similar need….
]]>When I open up example.csv in excel, then save it (File>Save As) and select the format Comma Separated Values (.csv) with the file name example2.csv then import it, it doesnt work. But if I tried importing it as just the original example.csv, it works perfectly…
How can this be possible? Excel is breaking the .csv?
]]>Hi, unfortunately this plugin generates a 0 byte file without any content … is there a hint?
Cheers
With Event Organiser CSV 3.2, no matter how I generate my CSV and no matter what options I choose (which delimiter, whether I check “First row is header”), the plugin always outputs “Start date not provided” for each row.
I never see the column-chooser dialog, I just hit “Import” and see a list of N “Start date not provided” errors. I’ve tried this with version 3.1 as well, no difference in behavior.
This is true even with the example.csv provided with the plugin! So it seems like something’s deeply wrong, not with the format of my CSV, but with the plugin code itself.
Thanks!
]]>Hi Stephen,
How can I make the import facility available to editors as well as admins?
Also, is it possible to have a feature to make all imported entries as drafts first so they can be checked first before publishing?
Thanks!
Ian
Not sure why this keeps happening, but nothing seems to get rid of this problem. No matter how I save it. Only the original exported files work but after editing nothing works.
]]>I have been using “event organiser” for some months in a personal project under development, and this is the first time that I experience an issue. By one side, any event shows venues’ information, or more simple, the venues template disappear from my site, even if the information is right there. So, venues information including locations, maps, and hours are not visible as usual.
I also have a problem in the dashboard, because the venue’s section is not displayed as usual. More precisely, I can not see the drop-and-down button that serves to display the list of all recorded venues. I still can select a venue by using the arrows…
Recently, I have been making some arrangements on the site, in relation with the plugin, I mixed ‘posts’ and ‘events’ on the homepage following this, and I was planning to (finally) activate the spanish translations of the plugin, whose performance is still an enygma for me.
My actual plugin’s version is 2.9.2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated !

]]>Trying to import a CSV with and am getting the error every time … I have tried selecting different delimiter, and re-saving my csv file but nothing works. Any ideas?
]]>Hi, I’m getting an error importing a CSV file with WP 3.8.1. I thought initially this was a problem with the data, but then I tested it with the example provided with the plugin and received the same error. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Phil

]]>I was really pleased to see this add-on to the framework plugin, so I installed it and proceeded to export my events, finding that it cleverly plugs in to the standard WP export function.
However, the output is XML, not CSV, and Excel does not take kindly to parsing XML. ??
Did I miss something or is this part of the plugin not fully functional yet?
]]>Hello. Is there a way to export/transfer only venues? I am working on a local installation and I want to transfer the list with venues only to the live site.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
