This Eventbrite/Keyring combo just stopped working one day. Do not install.
You have to share the event with their embedded JS code that you can find on your Eventbrite event details (invite and promote > website integrations).

This plug-in is rather complicated to set up (it requires a second plug-in for the authentication), and in the end it does not work. Unfortunately Automattic does not say so in the description of this plug-in, but only in the support forum. Very frustrating.

Worked at first, then simply stopped working. Wasted 2 days reconnecting APIs, Keyring, everything recommended in the support docs, to no avail. Turns out developers have stopped supporting this. **Do not waste your time with this defunct plugin.**

Page Templates, Keyrings, blah. Are you serious, Auttomatic??!!
Suggest you rethink what you’re doing in your spare time apart from coming up with ways of frustrating the hell outta WordPress developers.
Where’s the admin panel, where’s the shortcode. What’s that, you couldn’t be bothered…
DELETE…

Besides the sucky documentation other people have mentioned, they decided to use a custom page template to output the events. This means it’s not going to work right with page builders, which is any modern WordPress site.
If only they used a shortcode instead of a page template then you’d be able to struggle with all of the other non-updating issues everyone else is having.
By the way, there is no admin user interface. You have no way to control anything about this plugin. Delete and re-setup the sparsely documented keychain settings is what they tell you instead of giving you a refresh button.

Nothing works!

We are using the API to list the events in a company intranet.

I installed the plugin, then the keyring, followed simple directions, created a page just by changing template on the page. The folks who wrote these programs did all the heavy lifting. Thank you!

Got it working in the end, with substantial effort. I feel like this plugin is good in theory, but flawed in several key ways.
1.) The set up is complex and not intuitive. Even as an experienced WordPress developer I needed to go back and forth between my site, Eventbrite and at least 3 different sets of installation instructions which for some odd reason are not compiled into one official and easily identifiable place. Got there in the end… but the effort just doesn’t feel worth the reward
2.) As others have mentioned, it does not get new Eventbrite events automatically. You have to manually disconnect and reconnect constantly. How annoying. And a time sink because it wasn’t mentioned clearly in the docs.
3.) The difference from Eventbrite’s own widget does not seem worth the trouble IMO unless you had a very large number of events and didn’t want to manage the listing text in two places. For a single event Eventbrite’s embedable widget is a much easier and quicker way to achieve the same end result.
4.) I would really love to have seen screenshots and/or demo of this before going to all this effort. A small peeve…. but after spending an hour or so getting this working only to find it was not the best solution for my use-case it really leaves a bad taste. Sorry guys.

Before you install this plugin, plus Keyring, be sure that you understand that this does NOT have the capability to update/refresh. From the admin, “Unfortunately, there’s currently no way for Eventbrite to inform the WordPress site of new events and force it to refresh.” Read full post.
This important limitation should be in the plugin description. For me, that pretty much zeroes out the value of the plugin. That means that whoever is populating the EB events must also have admin access to WordPress to disconnect/reconnect Keyring and Eventbrite EVERY time a new event is added.
I hope that EB can develop a more full-featured and robust plugin so that I can pitch its functionality to clients as an easy solution.

Very simple to use provided the connection instructions at are used.
Tip: Don’t connect to an EB account with no events in unless you already have a nice short cache time set with the eventbrite_cache_expiry
filter.

I must say this is a great plugin! Most importantly is responsive opposed to the default Eventbrite iframe widget.
I ran into an issue with installing Keyring but because I had to update the PHP version to 4.4.
In any case it looks great:

One thing I couldn’t figure out is why the Sales End column is not showing on iPad. could be some Eventbrite setting or responsive elimination but not a deal breaker.

My clients are very pleased that this plugin has been created. I was a tad worried about installing it from previous reviews, but I found this site super useful and didn’t have any trouble installing it. https://automattic.github.io/eventbrite-api/users.html

This plugin has the potential to vastly outperform EventBrite’s “website integration” options. But two important points:
We will update this review/comment if we receive positive results from the plugin developers.

I keep getting this to finally work and then it somehow just breaks itself. It seems about every other time I check my site, it is either working fine or is totally busted with error messages. When I get the errors, I have to uninstall and reinstall, reset all my settings, sometimes MULTIPLE times to get it to work again. Not really a sustainable option to having a live site.
I am sure the developer is busy, but I haven’t gotten any responses to my support requests yet (it’s been 2 days), and I can see there are a lot of other people who have had the same problems as me, but their ‘solutions’ are temporary at best since the errors seem to pop up repeatedly for unknown reasons.
Additionally, this plugin has some weird limitations I would expect it to have settings / inputs for. Aside from being able to edit the templates (which is great) there are no settings for the cache refresh (how often your site gets updated results from eventbrite) nor are there settings for how many posts per page you want to show on the site. I had to custom code through the API to display ticket prices (should be a given), and can’t control whether or not there is a permalink around the featured image on archive pages. There isn’t a ton of thought into customization from the user end of this plugin (there are NO settings in the WordPress dashboard).
Overall I can see that the developer has done a lot of work, but it’s not to the point where I can actually trust it or use it for a real website. I want to give it a higher rating but until the bug issues are resolved and things are working smoother, I can’t ??

This plugin is one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of finding doing exactly what it’s supposed to and being pretty much ready to go out of the box!
After having a small hiccup the support I received from Kirk was incredible and am truly grateful! If you’re looking to integrate Eventbrite into your WordPress site this is the only plugin you should look at and use.
