At first: EventOn is a great plugin that does exactly what it should do and what we are looking for!
We were doing some testing of using de EventOn Lite version and noticed that after an update the shortcode that we use to display event did not work correctly anymore.
After reporting the issue we had a reaction on the same day that were going to investigate.
2 or 3 days later they came up with a solutions that did the trick. They will include this in the next version update.
Keep up the great work!

I had an issue with the code where my links would be stripped of special characters and therefore any Chinese words inside a link would be stripped. The team responded after a few days and fixed my issue by giving me a custom code to fix it and saying that it would be fixed in the next update. I am super happy with the results.
However, it did annoy me that the only place to leave a message for the teach was on this forum which was IMPOSSIBLE to find. I couldn’t find a proper contact page because everything linked me to their PRO account. It really annoyed me because this was an APP glitch and not a user error. It took me longer to find this forum which I had to create an account for (and wordpress wouldn’t let me create an account for some reason) and overall it took over 2 weeks to get everything done. I don’t see why they couldn’t have an easier method to contact support for people who don’t have PRO. I don’t mind that they charge for support for PRO users, but there should be an easier way to report bug errors such as their own homepage or email. I did not deduct any review stars because of this since their support is really good thus far. I just hope I don’t run into any other issues.

Great plugin, and clever way to monetise additional features.
The main thing that’s not great is that although events gets crawed by Google, once the event is finished there is no notification on the event page to say it has ended – which is unclear for readers (even with year added). The only way to be super-clear is to have the event auto-delete?– which is a shame as you’re losing google traffic, and also the events take time to manually create in the first place.

I really want to give this a 5 stars but there is one missing feature from the lite (and regular licence) which drops the score. Only Administrators can add events and you can’t give other user roles permission to add events unless you buy both the regular license and an add-on.
I understand the cost of developing plugins but at the same time, restricting event addition to only Admin is too restricting as it gives too much access to the website back end to people who don’t need or want the responsibility. The user action plug-in is overkill for just this feature and having a yearly cost puts this out of my budget (which is nothing as I am running a small fraternal organization website as a volunteer) I can see this being part of the regular license if not the lite version.
Also, there is nowhere in the eventOn lite documentation that mentions that only Administrators can add events. The action user plug-in page mentions user permissions at the end of its description as this is just an afterthought rather than an important feature.

Nice plugin. But all the description of an agenda/event-item seems to be overruling our websites metadata-description, resulting in Google-search showing the description of a random event as searchresult instead of the metadata from wordpress itself.

For us, this has been an excellent calendar with quite a bit of features built in for a lite version. You can purchase a paid version with more gadgets. For a lite version this packs pretty good amount of capabilities with several different calendar layout styles and support for taxonomies and custom data.

Installed the Lite version of this on a test site I am experimenting before I move on to build or replicate our retiree association site. Although the paid version is not very pricey, that is not available here and is only available for download from codecanyon (which sort of put me off) and tends to drop the rating down a tad. Then there are some addons that will make it functional for us, but very, very, pricey for a non-profit retiree association – this sort of dropped my overall rating a tad more. I reached out to the author via codecanyon /evanto marketplace, and the response was basically asking me to go to a helpdesk link to seek pre-sale answers. This was totally a turn off and brough down the rating a tad more. Other than this I actually like the look and feel of the plugin. Wish the author was more receptive to our needs. I am also reaching out to other plugin developers and one of them has circled back in a reasonable time and has offered a deep discount. Since I still in the evaluation process I have not made up my mind one way or another.

I’m starting to feel like I’m in the movie Groundhog Day with the support for this plugin (paid version). I read “I am going to assign this ticket to Ashan”, then nothing happens for a week and on my reminder Artem writes, try to disable that. Nothing changes, the lists are not displayed on the frontend. My site is fully cached at Ezoic, but the lists don’t show up there. Maybe the plugin is too slow or there is some other incompatibility, I don’t know. Would be good if someone could look into it more deeply and solve the problem. I often have support requests to theme and plugin developers and host providers, but support like this is new to me.

The plugin has many features that makes it one of the best and uncluttered event plugins I’ve worked with. Support is fast and efficient.

Great plugin but unfortunately contains a bug in html-code like line-breaks.
Example can be found on test-event-123 in the dev.myeventon.com shows the bug as well.
Click “Test Organization 123” and see there are no line-breaks <br> in description and organizer secondary description texts. Unfortunately there’s no way to file a bug-report unless you have a paid version which is quite pitty because everybody would like to purchase a product only when it’s working as supposed and not firstly to file a report.

The plugin works well and does the trick when you want to manage events

(Purchase version) After I pointed out with clear words that the developers constantly integrate new errors with each update, my comment was deleted by the moderation as offensive.
But unfortunately it is a fact that with every update new problems appear with the simplest(!) usage, so that every update is done with a stomach ache.
The last update 4.5.2 has now fixed a bug that I complained about and that was not understandable to the support. Let’s see what new problem will now appear.

Paid licence + eventon ticket licence
All was working last week when we launch our website… Nothing is working today, infinite spinning when trying to add a ticket to woocommerce cart

I also have a paid license. Today our clients have informed us that there are no event schedules on the site. It turned out that after updating the plugin, there was a problem after which the events are not displayed at all. And not in an older version of the plugin, nor in the latest one. In addition, ALWAYS, after updates, the plugin settings were rewritten so that you had to configure everything again EVERY TIME! And it’s all in the paid version! Technical support works according to schedule, sometimes it doesn’t respond to messages for weeks, some utter disgrace doesn’t solve problems!!! Even one star is too much for such an attitude to customers!

A plugin that seduced me with its beautiful design and functionality. And the support is very responsive. Thank you very much!

Excellent support and the plugin works perfectly and is super complete.

I tested a lot of plugins. Even if most of them work technically, you also want to have an attractive design. EventON Lite is an eye-catcher and already works perfectly in the free version. If there was a problem, support responded immediately. I’m excited. Thanks a lot for this!

After having tried out most of the other available plugins, this one is the first where I am able to decide on the looks very individually – even in the free version! It may be a little overwhelming at first because there are so many options to set, but it is well thought about and after a while even I got the hang of it (and I am “only” a designer with a few coding skills) and it all makes sense.
Definately a good choice when it comes to using a free version and wanting to place different (looking) parts of events on different pages!

To make this plugin work well requires a lot of effort. It does have a lot of customization options (and I mean A LOT), which is both good and bad. Free functionality is decent, with a lot of added functionality loaded into $$ Addons $$ which seem to be a bit pricey.
The loss of stars comes from support … Very slow to respond, days between replies and each reply was mostly a delay tactic, asking to try very obvious solutions of which it was clear from the question that they had already been tried. They completely failed to understand the problem even though I designed a site to explicitly show and explain it (in detail). They eventually stopped responding.
I can’t say that my experience was a completely positive one, but I am still using the plugin simply because I put in so much effort towards getting it to almost work.
Give it a go if you want, but if it’s not working after a while give up and move on, support probably won’t help you.

I dont appreciate it, when the plugin menu “extend” shows the lite version links to ICS/iCAL and google calendar. The website of the plugin owner implies this as well. Then after searching and searching finding out, this is a pro-version feature. Thanks for the wasted time.

After using it in a real environment to handle an international mining machine launch event, I found EventON would better be served as EventOFF!
● No support for any of the WordPress editors, only classic and the options in classic are also bad. (Only feature that made it nice was his attention to the short code designer, pity the rest of the application didn’t get the same development attention.)
● No real template options, he says there are templates but when you open them you will be shocked (You call this a template?)
● No support for any of the form designers on the market, making his forms and layout all you get.
● You cant use ticketing or RSVP points without having Woo Commerce installed and configured with products.
● The PDF plugin has no options, just on or off, cant customize at all.
● No real options to track your emails, for invites, booking confirmations, RSVP;’s or any of the email communications.
Very little customisation features, cumbersome and email template design options are none existent. Your option is to edit a PHP file with a couple lines of html code wrapping some of the variables pulled from a record set where he uses a while loop to throw out the values.. This makes putting any of the records around the page very difficult in a fully HTML designed email template if you are not familiar with PHP code. Instead of creating his forms using one of the popular form design editors so you can easily customise the forms he has only added a basic function to draw the forms and then apply a single style that you cant change but can control the color of the form background only. (Got around some of the limitations by using my browser developer tools to hack the CSS and create my own and add them manually to the, theme customise additional CCS and overwrite his lame CSS styles.)
His documentation and information on the various features are bad. When you are looking for answers, this can be very frustrating.
If you are a noob and its for a private site, then have at it. If you are planning on creating an event system for a business, then I recommend going with a tried and tested publicly acclaimed event management system of which there are around 6 or so available. Google the popular rating sites where they show 6 best WordPress event system for the latest year and then check to see what WordPress editors your calculated options support. Also search to see what form designers are supported.
Good luck!
