I just downloaded the Open graph plugin, set the settings in the settings panel but when I try to share the link on FB, it is taking a completely different image than what is in my post.
Also when I run the debugger in Facebook, I get the following error:
Cannot change og_type: The object at ‘https://www.chaimommas.com/’ previously had type ‘article’ and cannot be changed to an object of type ‘website’ to avoid data corruption of existing actions.
So I changed the setting to website in my open graph settings but still not working.
Please help ?? https://www.chaimommas.coom

Somehow all my posts automatically add a prefix word ‘tweet’ in the feeds.
Feed URL – https://feeds.feedburner.com/cosmogeekinfo
Blog URL: https://iCosmoGeek.com
The prefix is viewable on the site in the page source (couple lines after feed autodiscovery tags) of individual stories.

This doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’m doing everything correctly – have checked and double checked, but it still isn’t pulling the correct post info when I post links to blog posts on Facebook.
Also, at the top of each blog post I get “/> appearing at the top left hand corner of the page.

Please help, this is driving me mad!
Many thanks in advance.

Could you tell me how to edit the fbogmeta.php so that the default img always displays (remove post data?) and also rather than the_permalink to display for og:url to display the homepage.
Thanks!

It would be good if this plugin allowed for custom og:description, og:image for the homepage as it currently populates these meta tags with the latest post description, image and URL.
The og:url for the homepage should also be the homepage, not the most recent post.

I just upgraded the plugin to 2.0 and posted a link to a blog post on Facebook. The title and the thumbnail loaded fine, but there was no excerpt. I experiment with another post from my blog and there was no excerpt for it either. My version of Facebook has the new status update.

Once activated it will not load any page content. Only the background image of my theme was loaded. It is as if only the header is loading.

The excerpt wasn’t printing in the meta tag on the page. Looked at the PHP and found function insert_fb_in_head and added the line global $post; and all works well now.

We just noticed this last night so it’s likely caused by a change in how Facebook handles the Open Graph data:
If you enter a Facebook Account ID in the plugin, all Like buttons on the site stop working – that is to say when you click Like, the number goes up one and then down one almost immediately. In other words no Like is registered. By taking the Account ID out the like button works again.
Moreover with the Account ID inserted, the Facebook Developers Lint Tool returns an unknown error:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/
I’m guessing this is just Facebook being up to no good, but it’s an issue that will appear for anyone using the plugin so it should be dealt with swiftly. I’ve tested it on 5 different sites and they all have the same problem.

I have just implemented your manual code for the like button and then this plugin for open graph data. Everything seems ok however it seems the is not included in the plugin. Is there a reason this was left out or is there something I have done wrong?
Basically I am getting “Description You may use these HTML tags and attributes:” instead of the description.

This plugin was supposed to be the answer I have been looking for, however, it does not do what it is supposed to.
I need to have the first image pulled when someone likes a post or a page.
Developer please let me know how to get this to pull the first image in a post or page when someone click on like.
