Thanks for being an Thumb Fixer for Social Media plugin user.
Have a great day!

Hi Michael,
thank you for this great and free plugin!!
In my post, I have regularely featured images with a size of i.e. 600 x 563 px.
og:image shows in width and height these values.
BUT: Looking at facebook, the images have only 514 x 269 px. It is in general no problem with a smaller size, but in my case the height will be cut!!
Twitter doesn’t get a photo at all in spite of
<meta name=”twitter:imate” content=”Link to the jpg”/> is correct. Hmmm…??
Furthermore, there is only the title/header in facebook, but no excerpt = description.
Debugger shows a warning “Unbekannter Bildfehler. Bei der angegebenen og:image-URL … (link to the jpg) ist ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten”
Antwortcode 206
Link-Vorschau … Domain, Titel, Excerpt = description
How do I fix this problem? Thank you in advance.
A few parameters: WP5.1.1, ElementorPRO, SharifWrapper

Hello.
Facebook is getting me a random product image instead of the default site logo.
How can i fix this? I’d like to show the brand logo instead of a random photo.
Hello,
I use AddToAny and PDF & Print by BestWebSoft plugins and all was working fine (except the Facebook thumb).
I installed your plugin and it now allow to show a good thumb in Facebook but now also displaying “PDFImprimer” string at the end what was not the case before.
You can see what I mean at following URLs:
https://twitter.com/ecollart/status/1098183086112690176
https://www.facebook.com/LiPtiFouineu/
In addition, Twitter seems now trying to add an image, it was not the case previously.
You can just check previous posts to see how it was before installing your plugin.
I hope it is a minor problem that can be solved as I want to keep using your plugin.
As an enhancement request, it would be nice if we could add the picture we want for each post individually instead of a generic picture for all posts (what is already better than before but not really what I was looking for).
It’s a pity that WordPress can’t cope better with Facebook that I don’t like but have no choice to use…
SEO plugin are by far too complicated for me; so is the damned OpenGraph Facebook tyranic requirements !
Thanks for the job already done and your time spent to help junior WordPress lost users !

I installed, and I too, was expecting immediate results. I read your post and I’ll wait. However, what I saw that is interesting (and I’m a layman, I know nothing about FB developing, etc, I just want the friggin’ key image to change) is that according to the scraper info and canonical(Sp?) info, the image was set back in July 2017 and it hasn’t changed at all. I would occasionally see this image if sharing something and I’d think, okay FB is pulling this in, etc., but it never occurred to me that the image wasn’t changing. I do recall when I first set the blog up that we could put a blog post up and the featured image would appear. Now I’m wondering if any of the feature images for over 1 1/2 years have shown up. I haven’t a clue where to look or what to do.

Hi there!
First of all:
Link to my webpage: https://dark-festivals.de
Link to my FB-Page: https://www.facebook.com/DarkFestivalsDe/
My og meta data:
<!–/ Facebook Thumb Fixer Open Graph /–>

<meta property=”og:description” content=”Musikmagazin seit 2005″ />

<meta itemprop=”description” content=”Musikmagazin seit 2005″ />

Now here comes the problem:
Before this week I never had a FB thumbnail problem that I could not fix with ophen graph debugger. If the thumbnail picture of a link was not shown on FB, I just re-scraped the link with the debugger and everything worked fine.
A few days ago my webpage had a little downtime of maybe one hour, because my webhoster fixed an hack my website was affected from. The hack (site URL and webpage name were manipulated in the database to load javascript from some turkish source) is definitely fixed. Even the google search that brands pages as “hacked” very quickly tells that my page is clear.
But since that little downtime FB is not showing thumbnail pictures on links to my webpage anymore.
The problem does not occour with one specific link to my webpage, but with ALL (!) links to my webpage.
It seems that FB still recognizes that a thumbnail picture is there. It does just not show it, but greys it out. When I click on “advertise article” on FB (i would never do that, just for testing ?? ), FB tells me that the article can not be advertised because there is “a problem with the picture”.
So the information FB gives me is very general. I have no idea what is going on and had never a problem that occured ALL links to my page and not just one.
Does someone have an idea how to fix this?
Greetings
Hello,
I have recently moved from http to https and have lost the social media counts as a result. Researching a fix, it appears I need to change the og:url to point to the old page. See here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/faqs#moving-urls
Looking at the html source in chrome of the page provided, it appears when the page is served, og:url is always set to the new https page despite the permalink in the page editor set to http.
Would it be possible to provide the ability to manually change the og:url, as it appears your plugin sets this meta tag, so that I can try to get my social media counts working again please?
Many thanks,
Jimmie
Hi, since Germany and the rest of Europe is getting ready for the GDPR it would be crucial for me to know if the FB TF uses cookies and/or uses parts of the facebook api / fb social buttons for it to work since they will kinna be “illegal” soon.
I hope someone know,
thanks a lot
Thanks for your awesome work.
But I got some error on your plugin.
When I update a post there is show some error..
here is screenshot https://prntscr.com/j8wwxh
I would like to post more of my articles to Facebook, but each time the Facebook plug in only allows one picture, the main picture/default image currently set, to post along with the article. I would like each article’s featured image to post along with the article, so my path could be a little more artistic and creative. Please advise. I recently started my blog earlier this year.
Hi,
So the plugin is working, the image is the right one but the title and tagline are not the one that I put in my wp settings
Any idea why?
This only happens with WP_DEBUG enabled, but I thought I’d point out that the plugin is throwing the following errors:

I’m pretty sure this is just a warning about future .PHP versions not supporting the existing code of Facebook Thumb Fixer, but it’s a bit unfortunate that it should have to be present whenever I’m debugging the site (and, of course, it would be nice to have the newer code).
Thanks for your time.

I’ve created a new featured image that is 600 x 315 size on this page. When I click “preview” for Thumbnail Fixer, it shows that image. After updating the page, and refreshing several times, the FB sharing still shows the cropped image that is the actual image inserted into the page. I have screenshots of all this. I’ve done this several times with the same result, even deleted the featured image and uploading a new one with the same result.
I’m using an iMac running El Capitan.

Two weeks ago the link starting hosed up. Hi,
I just installed the plugin and the site went completely white. When I deactivate, it is back to normal. I am only running a few other plugins, which I deactivated all, no difference: as soon as FB Thumbnail Fixer is active, site goes white…
An older site was running the Fixer and I updated to 4.9.2 and no problem.
Thanks for an answer! Vielen Dank ??

Hi Michael,
Love the plugin, and appreciate how easily it solved my FB thumbnail challenges.
I’m trying to reset the OG properties for the linked page. FB debugger is reading them perfectly, however, the OG properties (in view-source) are for a single performance among a long list of performances, but not the one I’d like to highlight on FB. I’ve tried resetting the object type to “product.group” and adding a featured image in the page editor; also tried disabling OG tags for that page, but don’t see any change in the OG properties when I view-source.
I will appreciate your advice.
Thanks.
