Is it useful to use this plugin together with the EWWW Optimizer plugin? I use the last to generate .webp images from all images.

I suddenly found out I can’t save or publish anything, Site Health was showing The REST API encountered an error.

I first disabled all my performance and cache plugins that might be causing this and it didn’t change anything.

Only thing that worked was unchecking Enable Gzip Compression in this plugin.

Seems that with woocommerce/wordpress new update this plugin breaks up website.

The strange thing is that i didnt noticed it possible after 2 days since as logged in it was showing up as normal. But when i wondered why it wasnt getting any traffic or order i checked with other browsers to find out the site was broken as the image showed above. I even deactivated all plugins and reactivated them one by one to find out that this plugin was causing site to break up

plugin not working
the gt metrix point is 45 with or without your plugin
currently the plugin is deactivated

I installed the plugin and saved it. I did not mention the expiry days and did nothing else, but got a 500. Now the site nor my admin would not open. So deleted the plugin from Cpanel, but still, I am getting the error page and not the site. What could be the reason and how to recover my site?

if you run speed tests on pindom or gt metrix it shows 0 expiry headers as its not getting implemented.

We have run some speed tests and we got some F rates related to the use of Expires headers. We checked the .htaccess, in both public_html and wordpress, without finding any code added by the plugin.

Perhaps we are checking in the wrong place, as we are not too savvy, specially in apache.

Could you let us know where to look to make sure the plugin has the proper permission to write the code where it needs to?

I started getting a 502 Bad Gateway error from Cloudflare for my site, www. skymania.com. To fix it, Siteground added this line to php.ini:
zlib.output_compression = on

However, this produced the following warning:

Warning: ob_start(): output handler ‘ob_gzhandler’ conflicts with ‘zlib output compression’ in /home/skymania/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/far-future-expiry-header/far-future-expiration.php on line 73

Siteground therefore advised me to deactivate your plugin, but said to ask whether you might be able to suggest any server-side changes that would resolve the conflict.

What to do when a file expires with a suffix that the plugin doesn’t include, please?

I don’t know exactly how the plugin works, but it would be better to be able to define the suffix itself.

We are using your plugin but we are still getting “add expire headers” when we run a speed test through pingdom.

We checked all the file options and left 365 days as the number of days you can choose from.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

i installed the plugin
and all i DID was add expires headers only for my images like jpeg, png and so on i didnt even select any of those css stuff as i fear of breaking my site
but the moment i did that i cleared cache and opened my site all i got was codes
with boxes and < > and symbols
but my sit got to normal the moment i deactivated and deleted far future Expiry
please help
and please do explain me very simply if theres an alternative coz im a not techies and wont be able to understand all the wordpress tech stuff

The latest version is only 2 days old. I added, ticked all the boxes and saved. Then tested with Pingdom and GTmetrix, and both report “Add Expires Headers”

Why is it not adding headers?

Like all other reviewers, my header images were disappeared as soon as I installed this plugin.

I just deleted caches through WP Super Cache.

Have contacted the hosting service and there is nothing they can do.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work, since GT Metrix is still telling us to add expires headers. (for internal links)

Not sure if “mod_expires” module is enabled from our host.

We are also using autoptimize and WP fastest cache.

I have WP Fastest Cache installed on my site. I am getting the “Add Expires Header” message from GT metrix. I also have my site set up with CloudFlare. My questions is, will this plugin take care of the message and not be in conflict with the cache plugin?

I now that WP Fastest Cache has an option to enable Gzip which I’ve done so I assume should I install your plugin I would not want to enable that option?
