Its work, just not as fast as we whant, every facebook comment on the page will be imported to WP DB, then you can set to hide the WP comment but its keep con the final code for SEO purposes. even new commnets with facebook plugin after a minutes will be on our local DB. Any one can check it on my page https://geekguru.com.ar

It has been linking my website’s facebook page wall and my WP website comments for a couple of years without any issues. I am still trying to figure out a little mixup on approving comments, but that is more a problem on how facebook works I guess. I did study this plugin when I was developing a totally unrelated one (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/marketo-connector-public/) because of its simplicity and the fact that it also connects with an external API (an XML/SOAP one, not a JSON/REST one, though). It was a good starting point to my research although I ended up going on a completely different direction due to modularity and extensibility requirements. Anyway, really good job. Really useful and reliable plugin. Thanks for sharing!

Just installed this last night (July 30, 2014). I needed the width to support 100% fluid width, so I modified the plugin and submitted a pull-request to the author. He got back to me pretty much immediately with even better code than I wrote (see support forum).
Comments were replaced with facebook comments, even on a heavily modified theme framework. If your comments aren’t showing up, make sure your post and your site settings are configured right, because this DOES WORK.
So, this plugin IS being maintained. It DOES work. And it pretty much does what it’s advertised to do.
I’d love to have a little bit more control over it to apply other settings allowed by Facebook in their comments widget, like data-mobile and data-order-by. However, considering the plugin is on github, and the author is active, I can probably add these features in my fork and submit them. If/when I do, or if the author does, I’ll up the stars.

I followed all the steps twice do be sure I was not doing something wrong or just forgetting something but the plugin just doesn’t work as described.
Yes, it was easy to setup, yes, it displays the FB comments widget but the most important thing it does not. Looking for support, I just encountered messages from the author suggesting people to pay for it on SharePress.

The setup was easy, but I had a few issues. The default comment system was still being displayed, even when I disabled it. Comments were not being saved to my website, and so the theme’s comment count system did not display the count correctly.
There also does not seem to be any spam protection against the default commenting form. Not a huge issue, since I wasn’t using the default system. But still getting periodic emails of a spam bot posting a comment is annoying.
I went with another facebook commenting plugin which had none of these issues out of the box, and more features. I was much more satisfied with that plugin.
This plugin is just inferior in terms of features. However, because it is easy to set up and doesn’t nag at you to donate or spam your dashboard, I’ll give it 4 stars instead of 3.

I installed this plugin and the comment form is not appearing at all. I searched the support thread and seems like lots of people are having this problem but nobody has bothered to reply. Seemed like a good plugin but really is just a waste of time. BROKEN!! Avoid.

Unlink other plugins, this one saves the comments into the WordPress’s native comment system, and could co-exist with existing comment form (need some tweak to your theme’s function). The plugin is easy to setup and runs very well. One major missing item is e-mail notification when there is a pending comment… lacking this functionality makes the option “require admin approval” difficult to use. I was able to tweak another plugin to send the notification (Facebook Comment Notifier), but it would be great if this functionality could be built-in directly.

This is a great plugin, easy to use and does it’s job with no problems. I’m very happy to use it on all my WP websites.

The instructions given to create a facebook application and to set up the plug in properly were very helpful. Width of the facebook comment widget can be customized which is great. Two color schemes light and dark is also useful and you can choose between them according to your theme’s color. The only reason I gave this plug in 4 stars because it takes some time to load the facebook comment section.
