Hi dear. Thanks for magnificent plugin. Unfortunately after WordPress 5.8 update it stopped work. Please help fix it.
The menu in the bottom right corner of the player has picture in picture and download options. Neither of these options are beneficial on my website. I do, however, use subtitles which also appear in this menu. Can the menu be removed and replaced with a “CC” button? Or if not, at least remove the download and picture in picture options?
Just wondering if there are any implementations you know of that will pass events for play, pause, auto-play, % watched when using FitVids?
Thanks

Do you know if this plugin works with Leanpress?
We have some issues with the responsive of the courses.
We’re linking videos from Vimeo.
Thanks!
Hello,
I’ve had to deactivate your plugin because the plugin is conflicting with my built-in site function specifically my Slider on the home page. I’ve deactivated the plugin for the slider to work but I need it on other pages in my site. Could you check in to this and let me know!
Thanks so much!

When I embed a YouTube into a page there is a huge space above it. This is due to FitVid because when I deactivate the plugin the space goes away. Can you please fix the bug?
Hello, how are you?
FitVids is working very well for me. I’m having problems only with 9×16 Facebook videos because they get bigger than the pages.
Is there any way to leave all videos with 16×9? Whether it’s horizontal or vertical videos. Or is there any way to limit the height of the videos?
I tried for CSS and it worked well with YouTube and Vimeo, but with Facebook it did not work.
Any suggestion? Thank you
When viewing my website in Chrome browser there is a random question mark at the top of the screen. After inspecting it I realised that it belongs to a random fit vids div.

?

I’d like to remove this from my site, but have no idea which file to edit, or how it has managed to stay on my site even after i’ve uninstalled.

Hopefully this can be solved, thank you.
Instagram (as Twitter) doesn’t convert to an iframe, so you’ll need to revert the oembed magic. I used this code for that:
https://gist.github.com/Otto42/6502082
Once that’s done, the iframe does become fluid, but the height is all messy. For horizontal videos, you end up with a lot of white space below the video.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have two Vimeo videos with different ratios on the same page. The second video works perfectly but the first gets letterboxed to fit the ratio of the second video.
Is it possible to have two videos with different ratios?
It stopped working a few days ago. Not even Youtube videos are getting resized.
Hello!
Is there any way that I can make Fitvids also work with Facebook Video Embeds?
Thank you very much for your help,
Corinne
Hi Kevin Dees,
I’m using your plugin for years and it seems, it needs some update. I see, you don’t have time for this plugin, but as it is still the most popular FitVids plugin, it would be bad to ignore it and stop developing for the thousands of users, who are using your plugin right now.
I’d be happy to continue your work. I have developed a lot of plugins already:
https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/surbma#content-plugins
Please let me know, if you like the idea. Thank you!
I’ve installed fitvids and now all of my videos default to full-width which is great, unless a user can’t see the play bar at the bottom. Is there a way to make sure the video is as big as possible, but still 100% visible in the browser window?
See this for example:
https://www.brazenanimation.com/?portfolio=dallas-mavericks-fast-break
For now I’m using vimeo’s play button which is centered, but also means the play bar is hidden.
Any help? Thanks!
Brian
Options ERROR: embed did not find valid JSON guts.
I like to keep it clean and nice so any errors not acceptable. I wonder if this is client side error, server or plugin.
Any advice how to solve it?
Cheers!

FitVids for WordPress works just swell when resizing the browser on my compu –?but on iOS margin-right / padding-right of the containing element break. The fluid video container seems to respect the left-margin correctly, but then the video spans all the way to the right, breaking the white space of the column it sits in.
I put two screenshots in this image showing the two different outcomes:
https://herrfraufirma.de/fitvids-white-space.jpg
I tried adding margin and padding to different outer elemens like “site” and “wrapper” and even “entry-content” –?but always the same problem: first the container element “fluid-width-video-wrapper” seems to be displayed correctly, but then the actual video breaks the space.
Anybody any tipps, pointers, suggestions…?
Thank you vry much! t.
Hi,
Please update your plugin. Your plugin seems useful to support by our theme https://www.ads-software.com/themes/jbst. The current version breaks defer loading (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-defer-loading/).
I have made some improvements: See https://github.com/bassjobsen/JBST-FitVids-for-WordPress, please feel free to merge with your code.

This plugin was recommended by Genesis Framework, but I can’t get it to work on my site with android, or if I resize my screen. The video breaks out of its column. Can you help me get it set up properly? Thanks.
https://oilshmoil.com/
I installed the plugin and followed your set up instructions
It is not compatible with the Plugin “Lazy Load for Videos”.
I had to deactivate that one for it to work.
So page now takes longer to load especially if multiple videos.
Any way to fix this problem?
Thanks, Denis
I installed the plugin and followed your set up instructions, good news and bad.
I added the .post CSS selector as advised in the settings (In dashboard click on Appearance then Fitvids). This makes it work on Blog posts but not on Video’s embedded on Pages. If you change .post to .page instead it will then work on pages but not posts.
To fix the problem add
.post, .page
instead.
This should be changed on the screenshots image of this plugin page.
Thanks, Denis
Hello, I’m having trouble getting FitVids to work when using the YouTube API to generate the iframe by swapping out a div with an id for an iframe. If I hardcode the iframe embed it works fine. Not sure what’s up, any ideas?
Hello,
I love the Fitvids app and use it in conjunction with Yoast SEO on my website.
However i have a couple of issues with the plugin. It doesn’t work on my homepage, but fine on other pages.
When using a vimeo link on the home page i just get the text link and not the video?
Also i can’t get it to work within the collapse (JS) function of my theme. i am currently using another method to do this however it doesn’t work with Yoast so i would like to convert these over to fitvids.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Regards,
Colin
Hi Kevin,
Thanks in advance for this fantastic plugin.
I’m trying to add a URL like this “https://vimeo.com/4646764?byline=0&portrait=0&color=ff8459” for customize the vimeo video player. I tried some ways but none works.
Do you or someone else know how to do?

I got this all working perfect and tested in browser and it worked fine (even did a 5 star review).
I tested various browser sizes and user agents including iPhone using Chrome. Perfect.
However, when I look on an actual iPhone (Safari and Chrome), the Kickstarter video I have embedded isn’t resized. The youtube videos worked perfectly.
I don’t understand why it’s working when I test in my laptop browser and resize it iPhone size (and switch user agent), but for some reason it doesn’t work on my actual iPhone. In addition, on the iPhone, the video embed looks like it’s cut off on the top and bottom.
Any ideas? Post is here: https://blog.zipscene.com/2013/06/drinkable-pizza-adorable-driverless-cars/
Thanks,

This plugin works great for videos that can be embeded using url oembed, or as objects; but it does not expand iframe embeds to fill the container.
Example:

For iframe embeds I am using the Advanced Responsive Video Embedder, which places a short code into the post.
But I would rather simply embed a video and have it work, and for most of my needs, FitVids for WordPress is the best. Thank you Kevin Dees!
