Accidentally dismissed a notification on the dashboard after clicking update, and that apparently stopped the update process, resulting in the lock. After waiting for a while, with no indication that things would change, I removed the lock using this plugin (too lazy to login to myphp), and performed a full update. Worked like a charm.

Great light weight plugin that does exactly what it says and does not pollute the dashboard with bunch of nonsense.
Using MAMP Pro and even though set high execution time in php.ini, still times out on big updates from time to time. This plugin makes it simple to resolve.

I did a google search for the error wording ‘Another Update in Progress’ when I tried to install wordpress 5.2.4, as I got locked out. I installed this, activated it and 5.2.4 went in, I didn’t need to go into phpmyadmin. I don’t write reviews normally, but this plugin got me out of a jam and I thought I would reflect that in this written review.
