But for some reason the developers declined to include any screenshots of the plugin in use. Why would I sign up for a Filament account to use a plugin I’ve never even had a chance to take a look at?

devs have abandoned the plugin it seems and it is impossible to remove completely
]]>Rating: 1 star
They’ve abandoned the plugin and gone to a software as a service model instead where you subscribe to their service. It’s too bad – the plugin was really nice.

The design was interesting, but there are a lot of problems with visualization.
And removing plugin is very difficult!

So far I’m loving this plugin. The looks and functionality are awesome. However, there is one major flaw.
We all know how hard it is to increase the reach of our blogs on Facebook. Well, this plugin does not allow Fan Pages to share content. When viewing the post as a Fan Page, a “Login” button appears that makes you switch to personal profile in order to share on Facebook.
This means no other Fan Pages (even the giants) can share your content using the button provided by this plugin.

Thank you very much for making this great tool!

it was very slow on my website. it could be because of my theme but any way I have decided to remove it especially after looking at my database tables where it was all over them. after deleting it, the plugin left some crap on all pages visible to visitors. how to remove this nasty thing completely ? why plugin with already a few updates does not have this basic option in script ?

Yet another plugin that doesn’t work.
I bet the premium version does though.

O melhor Social Share que eu encontrei, antes deste, eu tinha testado uma media de 15 plugins.

This is the best social plugin in my opinion, and I feel like I’ve tried them all

Our site manager added this plug in and initially I was pretty happy with it. Looked good, worked well (I thought), and we liked that it had a delayed appearance.
However, I am incredibly frustrated by the facebook “Like” button. As the social media manager for my company I’m always on the look out to get more views. While this button does cause the user to “like” a page it does NOT show up in their time line, their news feed, or anywhere else except the “activities” box all the way at the bottom left of a user’s profile. What a joke!
Currently looking for a replacement sharing tool until this is addressed.

Looks very good and works great, thx! ??

Three questions (one pretty major), no response in several months.
Don’t use this plugin. It doesn’t function correctly and there’s no support anywhere (despite saying you can request help through their website)

This plugin was great, but now it messes up my meta data for social sharing and is harmful for SEO.

I saw this on Jon Loomer’s site and thought I’d give it a try. So far the only negative is that it is difficult to style the positioning of the vertical bar (I’d like to move it a little to the left).

I have tried the older version of this in past, and deleted it. Then I read some reviews of the ones praising it. So I guessed on trying it again. What a mistake. I put in on pages, and above content it only showed two icons and were not click-able. I went to blog posts to check it out and I lost my posts. Posts just disappeared completely gone. What the crap. That is when I went to installed plugins and deleted it. If they have a Pro version. I do not see how it could be any better than this. If the free version is this bad, I would not want to try the Pro version at all.

Really useful plugin. And with the new version 1.2.4 all critical reviews seem moot.
I have some issues with the offset of the floating sidebar as well, but I’m confident that this will be addressed in a future version.
BTW, if it hadn’t been for the “ad”, I wouldn’t have found the plugin so I’m happy it was there.

I was getting depressed looking for a decent social share plugin with floating left option that didn’t require membership or all kinds of up-sells. Then through all the dreck comes Flare. Quick-loading, straight-forward setup, and no attempts to datamine. THANK YOU!! Five stars if you add the option to change the name “3 Flares” to “3 Shares”.
UPDATE: Okay, after using this plugin for a few hours, I realized it’s doing something to add spacing left + right that activates horizontal scrolling, even when the window is super-wide. (Windows FireFox) So until that’s addressed I have to reluctantly use another plugin…

loved it like hell ?? keep up the good work guys ??

Love the plugin. After searching and trying a lot of plugins, this one stands out for Social Sharing.

Overall, a great plugin – 5 stars because they said they’re removing the forced ad in the next update. I only wish it had options to adjust the offset of the floating sidebar.
The only aesthetically pleasing share plugin there is ??

Advertising your company, brand or website is a must. Users understand this. However, it must be done in a fashion that doesn’t associate your brand with negativity. By adding the advert on the plugin without an opt-out you are turning any potential buyers of future plugins off automatically. Sometimes you just have to give something away.
Let me explain:
I saw the flare on a site and liked it so much that I inspected and researched the code and the plugin directory to find it. I was even going to email the website owner if I couldn’t find anything. I wanted it and therefore I went after what I wanted.
I had a very positive opinion of your company and even went so far as to decide to purchase the future plugins when they came out. I had formed my opinion on you based on your generosity of the fine looking and well functioning flare plugin. That is worth more than any link or ad. That is the very thing that marketing companies strive for: to make you want the product and do whatever it is they need to in order to acquire it. You had a golden ticket and a perfect concept of marketing your company and product. Then you got greedy. By adding the link and ad you limited your audience drastically because now no one is going to want to use the plugin. Sometimes you just have to give something away but the future rewards more than make up for the present losses. Anyone that saw such a nice plugin did the work they needed to do to find it. They didn’t need the link. I hope you reconsider your marketing strategy and whomever it was that decided to add this plugin really, really needs to study marketing better.

in the newest version a “hidden” ad was added to the plugin without the option to remove it.
Yes it’s a free plugin, but there should have been a head-up that there will be ads BEFORE updating. OR giving you the opportunity to pay a small fee with pro-features…
I went back to the previous version and as soon as I find a replacement I will switch to another plugin.

I hope you make this removable! I really loved this plug in.

I saw this plugin at a friend’s blog and he recommended it to me. I just installed it and it turns out that in the latest update they had totally ruined the plugin. Not only the Total Shares count is not showing up on my site like on https://www.jonloomer.com or multiple other sites, it is also showing a purple ad for Filament with no way to opt out.
This is outrageous! Either offer a paid version to get rid of the ad, or offer a way to opt out of the ad. I’m disabling it till they update it and remove this crap!

I have been using flare for the past month and I’ve found it very useful. However, a few days ago (I’m not sure when), I updated it and found out today that I’ve been displaying ads for a company called Filament with this plugin. So, I’ve been unknowingly spamming my users with ads that I didn’t intentionally place there. These ads were not present with the original version I downloaded.
They didn’t warn us, there is not consent to display the ads, and there is no opt-out. It seems crazy to me that a company would lure users into using their product then use that product, without the consent of website owners, to spam their advertisement on every website using the plugin. It’s simply disrespectful to the userbase.
I will never use Flare or any product by Filament or Digital Telepathy again.
Nothing else to add.
