I would love to be able migrate my flickr-stream to my own WordPress. I haven’t used any plugins to show my flickr-images on my site before.
I installed the plugin and set up my API-key, secret & user id. I changed some content settings.
I tried to run the import. It said everything went fine and it emptied my post. But it didn’t import any images? Any ideas?
Is this the plugin to use?
What may I do wrong?
And are there any strategies for import a complete flickr stream? My first idea is to take one set at the time. Ideally I would love to have it just import all photos from the flickr stream to individual WordPress posts.
Thanks a million in advance!
]]>I haven′t been able to try the plugin yet but it looks excellent and quite unique. I have one quick question, is there a way to import flickr tags? Ideally they should be imported as terms in a custom taxonomy, but even adding the tags as plain text strings in the alt text for the attachment would be useful. Does this make sense to you? Is there a way to do this?
Also, si there an upper level of how many images can be imported at a time? Can you suggest any good practices regarding large imports?
Thanks again.

Ideally I would like all my Flickr content to go to S3 too.
If I run this plugin on a post which contains standard Flickr embed HTML, will this plugin work with WP Offload to send the Flickr image to S3?

Great plugin, thanks for develop it.
I am having a little issue. I can’t see the checkbox
import [flickr] content
in Galleries.
It’s working in Pages and posts but not in the galleries.
I try to check the:
Enable for Galleries
in Post Options but still doesn’t work.
This is very important cause my plugin (Vernissage) only allows me to use slideshows in Galleries.

I’m looking at a problem where i was using wordpress manager, and it just stopped working. wordpress manager is one of the supported shortcode conversions in your app, but i do not wish to have to import all the photos into WP.
I would like a way to convert the shortcodes to regular flickr links. is there a set of options i need to activate in order to do so, or is this functionality not available?
thanks!

]]>Just a quick and puzzled question.
Installed the plugin, all default settings, input a single post ID to import the images from flickr. Run import, status made it to 100%, success.
But no images were imported (checked media library) and the shortcodes are missing from the post.
BTW, I’m trying to migrate from FlickrManager, so the shortcodes are like that: [flickr id=”###” thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”large” group=”” align=”none”]
Please advise, no idea what to try next and I’m not really keen to run the import on the whole blog and lose all the references to flickr IDs used in posts….

Now, deactivate Broken Link Checker, and then attempt to install and activate Flickr Shortcode Importer.
The two plugins will run together, but I think FSI needs to be loaded first so that BLC recognizes that the screen meta tab script is already installed.

]]>Hey-
This is a really cool plugin! I think it will do what I’m looking for, I just had two questions on a sample page migration. Here is a reference page:
https://www.danradigan.com/wordpress/2013/01/day-4-hong-kong/
1. Is there a way to map to using the same sizes in the flickr_manager plugin that’s specified in the short code? There are key sizes in the plugin here:
Square
Large Square
Thumbnail
Small
Small 320
Medium
Medium 640
Medium 800
Large
Original
2. What’s the best way to have a light box pop up after migration? I’m using the one built into flickr_manager and wanted to see if there was an easy one to migrate to.

]]>Hi Michael,
Not sure if its anything you can control but I’ve spotted that any image over the wordpress import size limit (not entirely sure what that is) fails. Luckily for me in a blog with over 500 posts only 30 of them fall into this category, just wondering if it can be avoided.
I’m in the annoying position of having to import images at 1040px width, just 16px over the ‘large’ size, so I have to go for the full size images. What would be great in a future release is if you could implement an automatic resize on import to a custom width. There’s plugins that do this for uploaded images, im sure the flickr API works differently but it would save a lot of heartache (and bandwidth!)
Thanks again for a great plugin!

I read the description of what Flickr Shortcode Importer plugin is supposed to do, and I thought I understood, but apparently I do not. Either that, or it does not work.
I installed it. I activated it. I backed up my site. I checked the settings and they seem to make sense.
I clicked to run the import and after what seems like a ridiculously long period of time, I finally get some results.. failed imports.
The failed result code is:
function () { if (c) { var a = c.length; n(arguments), j ? (l = c.length) : e && e !== true && (k = a, o(e[0], e[1])); } return this; }
Further, it says there are only 7 Total [flickr(set)]s. I’m not sure how many sets I have linked in the past, but I’m almost certain it is more than 7. More often, I only link a single image than an entire set. Are those not included?
I really hope I can get this to work, otherwise I spent $33 to upgrade my hosting for nothing, and I’m still stuck with Flickr Services connections crashing my site.
Thanks!

If I understand correctly, this plugin will import my Flickr photos and sets into my WordPress blog making it easier for me to manage my photo galleries by doing it in Flickr and not WordPress. I have installed and activated the plugin but I’m hung up on getting my sets and galleries from Flickr to show up in my WordPress website. I decided on a WordPress site as I’m not the most code savoy person, but organizing my images has been more difficult than expected. One way or the other, I would like to be able to post multiple photo galleries on on page on my website. Does anyone have DETAILED instruction on how this can be done?
