I tried to change the accent color to #770088, but it does only work as long the customizer is active. After I reopened the customizer, I see the new colors which will disappear after close. Any idea?
]]>Hello,
Curious if anyone knows of CSS code that will offer the same functions as the Fourteen Colors plugin.
I’m trying to maintain my Twenty Fourteen themed site as long as possible, and if this great plugin isn’t being updated anymore, using custom CSS would be the best alternative.
Cheers.
Hello,
I really appreciated the feature Fourteen Colors offers. Is there any chance it will be updated to be compatible with WordPress 5.8?
I’d much prefer not to abandon this plugin because it is no longer compatible.
Thanks for all your efforts.
Hi Nick,
I am using the Twenty Fourteen as my theme and came across the Fourteen Color plugin to change the Accent and Contrast colors..
However when I installed and activated the Plugin then return to Appearance –> Customize screen, I do not see the ability to change the Colors for Accent or Contrast or Background.. It appears as it did before the Plugin was installed and activated..
Any ideas of what the problem is here?
]]>I searched for: Site Title Color
In this plug-in’s area here, but didn’t find anything, so here goes…
There is an issue with the fourteen color plugin’s section of the theme’s customization menu.
The theme already has a color section, containing
The fourteen colors plugin does not have a spot to change those colors. Instead of adding them to the plugin, perhaps change the plugin’s “colors” section to “colors II” so it does not cover up the themes’s existing color settings?
Currently, The workaround is to deactivate fourteen colors, change those settings, then reactivate fourteen colors.

]]>Hi,
I am using a child theme with Fourteen colors plugin and it has been working great. Now, I am trying to remove the default left sidebar of 2014 theme using the below code.
.site:before {
display: none;
}
With the plugin deactivated, the sidebar disappears as expected. However, with the plugin activated, it still shows up. Anyway I can make the plugin work with the above piece of code?
Thanks!
]]>This was fine on the previous version of wordpress, but since I upgraded to 4.7 I cannot switch to any colour other than the default green (for my menu links hover colour – the top one in the customiser list).
I use a child theme for 2014 but there isn’t much changed in it. I’ve also tried changing the colours in the default 2014 (not the child theme), but it’s all green there too.
Can anyone help with this please?
]]>At the moment of writing this, 29 hours ago the theme Twenty Fourteen received an update from it’s developers as you can find here: https://themes.trac.www.ads-software.com/log/twentyfourteen/
I was wanting to know if this plugin is still compatible with the theme (after the update), or if we need to wait for an update to this plugin to become available first?
Thank you
]]>I am using the plugin on site https://test.premiercarepeds.com I have the menus and colors set up the way I would like. Here is the issue I am encountering. When I go to a page on the dropdown list from the top menu (ex. Home>Virtual Tour). The “Home” font turns yellow which I want. When I hover over the home button now, the background turns yellow and font black which is correct. However, when I then hover down the dropdown menu, the font changes back to yellow and is not visible. How can I make this stay black but still be yellow when not hovering? I have tried combinations of css code in my style.css but cannot find the correct setting to change just that color of the top item when hovering when on a page from that menu (it is black for the other menus that you are not currently on a page within the dropdown menu)

If the answer is no, please just let us know.

I know this topic was posted here earlier, and closed.
But as I ran into this today, I did some more digging and found the problem.
Apparently, when you modify the theme using the themes customizer some static css code is generated which will survive a url scheme change, i.e. http to https. So when you change your website’s background image for example when still using http urls. Then change to https, WordPress will still load the old http link because it did not update the absolute url to https://<domain>/wp-content/plugins/fourteen-colors/pattern-dark-inverse.svg
(table wp_options, option_name theme_mods_twentyfourteen)
So this is more a WordPress bug than a fourteen-colors bug.

Hi there..nice plug in. Love it..
BUT
With the contrast color set to a light grey, instead of the default black, the text one enters in the Search box and the Subscribe to this Blog box is white — and barely visible. Which makes the visitor think they’re not working.. Anyway to change this without using a darker Contrast Color? I’d like something neutral since the site it otherwise orange. And darker greys just make it look sort of dirty.
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
when using the slider for featured posts, the slider naviation div (div with class .slider-control-nav .slider-control-paging
) is colored in the “contrast color”. This looks good and happens in the “normal” view for large brower windows.
In the mobile view however (small browser window), this div has the style background-color: #fff;
, which doesn’t look good and seems to be an error.
Can you cofirm this and provide a fix? I’m going to hardcore a matching background-color in my style.css in the meantime.
Thank you — and thanks for this great and simple to use plugin!

Hi there,
I’ve been using this plugin with Twenty Fourteen theme however recently I’ve decided to use child theme as I needed to change the way my posts are shown on the homepage.
Currently I do not see the additional colour setting in “Customize” is it because I’ve changed the content.php file in my child theme?
How do i ensure that I can still use this plugin on my child theme?
Thank you!

I look forward to an upgrade!
Since the latest update op WP I noticed that when the plugin is active the site text is no longer selectable on all pages. Just like a copy restriction but not meant so.
Shame, but I needed to deactivate the plug in. Time for an update?

I have used this plugin on a previous site with WP4.0.
On a new site with WP 4.1 I have installed it on the same theme and activated but the new options for colors are not shown in the Customize menu.
Is it tested with WP4.1 ? Do I have a problem or is it general ?
Thanks.

I have a site with WP and 2014 theme and I like your plugin a lot, as I use different color set (https://paleosmak.pl).
I use a plugin Speed Booster Pack and it provides me lot of performance boost. It has an option “Insert all CSS styles inline to the footer” which works pretty fine with all styles I have, except styles of your plugin. After enabling the option I lose all my colors.
Is it possible to have your plugin working with CSS styles in the footer feature?
Once again thanks for your plugin.

As soon as the plugin is activated, the Appearance / Header / Header Text / Text Color doesn’t work anymore.
I can change it to whatever color I want, it shows up properly in the little square — but not on the actual resulting page.
Thoughts?

first of all, thank you for the great plugin.
I am not entirely sure, whether this is issue is related to your plugin, maybe you can still help me.
I observed, that the hover behaviour on secondary menu items disappears when viewed on mobile devices (when the secondary menu pops below the main content). Is there any way to get the hovering back to work?
