I would like to turn on the featured content section and show a grid. How do I do so?
]]>I think twenty fourteen is one of the best themes out there but it has some serious issues with the content width.
For example, on my blog
https://johnnyafrica.com/2014/07/22/weekend-wine-country/
The content doesn’t feel like the highlight of the post because it only takes up less than half the space of the table. The “Set-content width” option that defaults to 474 is the only thing I can find that remotely adjusts this but all it does is push the content box to the left.
Was wondering if anyone has successfully increased the width of their content box and/or decreased the width of the right sidebar which is just unnecessarily large.
]]>It’s July 24, 2014. No more Fourteen Extended? We have it installed on other sites – but some of the functions stop working and now it has disappeared from the WP plugin listing.
]]>Is there a reason why I can’t find the Fourteen Extended plugin when i try to add it in Search? I keep getting a “we can’t find that plugin, maybe you were looking for one of these…” messages.
]]>I’ve successfully turned off the text of the left sidebar and the background color has changed to white from black, so there’s effectively nothing there. I’ve also checked the “true full width” box on the editing window for the page, however the page content still starts indented as if the toolbar was still there. Is there a setting (perhaps in Twentyfourteen General Options?)I’m missing?
]]>In Fourteen Extend:
I have a need to place a number of posts within a post (let’s call it Post-1). The idea is to have the Post-1 contain within it an array of posts – So, once clicked, Post-1 will act more like the site’s front page.
Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

]]>Hi everyone,
after last update of fourteen extended plugin and the theme itself, the burger menu is wrong aligned. It is now not in the middle but on the top of screen.
Please check it on my web site e.g. https://ifunny.club/tag/fussball/
I would really appreciate and kind of help in order to fix it.
Many thanks,
Michael
I will be using Twenty Fourteen Extended to migrate my site to WP – Thank you Zulf Nore.
I have made the needed modifications in ‘style.css and some .php files. Question is, how to preserve my mods/changes (css and php) in case of updates to ‘Twenty Fourteen Extended’?
Since Twenty Fourteen Extended itself is a ‘child-theme’, I think, I cannot make another ‘child-theme’ within it. [Of course, I have my work saved at my end.]
What should be the best practice in this case/scenario?
Thank you.

]]>Hi All, I am using Fourteen Extended.
The “Check to show full width for Search results page” does not seem to be working. I still get the left sidebar with my search results. I am using Better Search plugin, but it didn’t work when I was using the regular WP search either.
I have disabled all of my plugins thinking there my be a conflict, but that did not do the trick either.
The “Remove Primary (Left) Sidebar? – Hide left sidebar site-wide” does work, but that removed the sidebar all together, which is not the result that I want.
I have a child theme and I am able to tweak things, so if I can get some advice I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

]]>I use Fourteen extended regularly, but on this install none of the formatting options show up. It is also my only install on a Windows server(hello 2003). So I am wondering is issue Fourteen Extended or Windows?
]]>Is anyone experiencing a problem with Twentyfourteen’s theme plugin “fourteen extended”?
The theme customizer is not responding at all. I click on Appearance and then Customize which takes me to the plugin. However, I only see my customization options on the left sidebar but they are not responding and the main body area to the right should show my blog, but I only get a blank white screen. The plugin is not responding.
Any suggestions?
My site is hillbent.com
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
]]>Is there a way to get the image attachment pages to show the “large” sized images and not the original “full” sized images so we can implement our watermarks?
Thanks in advance!

After setting “Featured Slider Options” once, changes of other options of Fourteen Extended can’t be saved any more – they are automatically set to default.
]]>When modifying the content max-width setting:
Set Content max-width (numbers only!) – maximum recommended is 874 & Default is 474. Set to 700 when hiding left sidebar only!
and the width of the window is less than the maximum value, the content goes edge to edge, but the title does not. Is there any way to either shift the title all the way to the edge, or push the content so that it is in line with the title when the width of the window is less than the maximum value?

]]>I’m using your plugin, but I have little problem with full-width page in categories. If I have static page, full width is no problem. But when I have some category page, I marked “Check to show full width for archives, categories and tags”, nothing’s changed and category is still approximately in the middle of the page. Where is the problem please?
]]>I’m trying to supress the content menu ( right side ) except on the home page. I thought that was one of the purposes of this plugin – but can’t find where to activate it. If it isn’t a feature – can this be a feature request? THanks.
]]>Hi,
I use Twenty Fourteen Extended, Styles, Colors and custom css plugin, don’t use child theme.
1. I unchecked “Show Featured Posts in blog feed”. I got the grid. But below grid appears something like that “You haven’t start blogging. Write a post”. How can I delete this or turn off this – its obvious I created posts.
2. Is there any possibility to change archive/category page (in css or maybe plugin)) to the grid layout?
]]>Hello,
Firstly, this is a fantastic plugin, thank you.
I am having difficulties changing the background colour of the black right hand side navigation (primary navigation) that you can see here (I have used your option for floating it to the right):
I can see no where to change the background colour in the stylesheet.
Any ideas?

]]>Fourteen Extended: 1.2.31
Hi
I had high hopes for Fourteen Extended, and it does indeed have some useful tweaks, however it doesn’t have one the one feature I was really looking for-
I want my site to have its main menu options displayed in the left-hand sidebar, with the top menu area basically empty other than the search widget. I.e. A traditional “F”-shaped page layout.
I can easily put my site navigation in the LH sidebar (the secondary sidebar), BUT because the theme considers this to be the “secondary”, when the responsive theme switches to mobile (small screen) mode, my main nav disappears to the bottom of the page, where most users probably won’t even realise it exists. Meanwhile the 4-bars “collapsed menu” icon on the mobile layout always links to the primary menu, which in my case is empty!
At the moment as a workaround I’ve put a “skip to menu” link in the main menu, that scrolls the screen down to the secondary menu, but this is a bit clunky.
I realise I could be accused of misusing TwentyFourteen as a one-sidebar theme, but I like its modern appearance and other features, even if it is a bit prone to quirks like this.
What would make Fourteen Extended a “killer plugin” for me would be an option to flip the priority + purpose of the two sidebars in TwentyFourteen, something like a “Make the LH sidebar primary” option.
The functional impact of this, in the small screen / mobile view would be-
1) The top sidebar content is shifted to the bottom of the screen.
2) The left sidebar content is hidden, and connected to the menu icon button as a popup.
In technical term, this might be as simple as swapping some IDs over in the page markup.
Is this a feature that could be included in a future version of Fourteen Extended ?

]]>I have a primary side bar and content side bar enabled. I use blockquotes in posts using the class=”pull alignleft” and class=”pull alignright”
Everything is fine on single-posts with full-width enabled. But on the blog feed page, the blockquote will extend into the content side bar on the right when pulling to the right, as well as under the primary side bar when pulling to the left.
However, if I reduce the width of the browser window to the width of the site, the blockquotes will respond and align nicely within the post on the blog feed page.
I can duplicate the same effect in Appearance > Customize – the blockquotes are aligned within the post but once I collapse the customize menu on the left, the blockquotes will overlap in both directions.
]]>I’ve been trying at the theme support for this but maybe it’s a plugin thing. I cannot get rid of the “Continue reading” when using excerpt. Of course I’d like to keep it but to use it in my own language would make a way professional appearance!
]]>Glad to have found your plugin.
I see the plugin can change pages and posts to full width – can it do this for single individual pages or is it a sitewide option only. Thank you.
]]>Hi,
I tried to translate fourteen extended with the Localization plugin, but it doesn’t work. How can I transllate it?
Best wishes and thanks a lot for this!
Daniel
My project was to keep 100% width on frontpage and 80% on others. You kindly helped out at this thread:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/child-theme-overide?replies=7
My solution there was to go 80% width in the Fourteen Extended customize settings, then change the CSS code to keep the frontpage only at 100% with the .home code. This works great.
However, I’m having trouble with image placement now. Only thumbnails without captions follow the 80% width settings. If I add a caption or select a larger size, the images move to far left or right of the page.
As per this page: https://school4schools.com/about/about-bromley/ you will see that the top image has no caption and aligns w/ the page width. If I were to add a caption it would go far left, as are the other two images that have captinos and are aligned off to the far right.
Thanks for your help!
]]>Hello,
Please take a look at https://szafiarka.com/
As you can see the tags of the new posts are too near the beginning of the older posts.
Is there an option in this plugin to increase the space between the posts?
Or should I edit manually the css and add:
padding-bottom: 50px;
to
@media screen and (min-width: 846px)
.full-width.singular .site-content .hentry.has-post-thumbnail, .full-width.home .site-content .hentry.has-post-thumbnail
?
]]>Hi,
I’ve certainly read https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/filter-main-content-posts, but do you think it’s also possible to add a feature that filters based upon the post type?
Using the category would only be a workaround for me. The post type actually determines whether I would like to show it in the feed or not. I use the categories to distinguish between other contents and would like to keep it that way if possible.
Thanks,
Benny
I can’t find a change list for the new 1.1 version, so I don’t know if it is even worth updating? Is Fourteen Extended tested with this new version? THANKS.
]]>Hi, I’d like to contribute to this project. I made some changes on github and submitted a pull request, but it appears that the git repository is only a mirror. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess the svn repository here is read only. How can I contribute?
