I am trying to generate analytics report to differentiate between guests and members on my website. I have added the code below to the ‘custom GA code’ section, however this still sets a value of 0 for guests, however Google instructions for sending user ID say that no value should be passed for guests. Is there a way to use the Custom Code option to only send this value if it is not 0?
“Don’t send a user ID when a user isn’t signed in. If a user isn’t signed in, don’t pass the user ID parameter, or leave the value as undefined. Don’t set a custom value, like?"empty"
?or?"NA"
. Setting the same value for all sessions without a user signed in causes issues with the accuracy of your reporting.”

Hi!
We have a situation on our client’s website. It’s a really simple website so we don’t have much configuration. Already did the checkin by deleting the google analytics code from the plugin will remove both tags.
Thing is, that when we do the Tag Analysis we have the gtag.js tag and another one, Universal, that we have no idea where or how, but somehow, it’s always tracking.
Both tags are located on the header. We double checked that Complianz is not doing anything because we didn’t gave them the tag info

We figured out it had to be in a plugin, and by process of elimination, it was this plugin. I looked at the reply on a couple other threads like this, and I can assure you no one with admin access to WP made this happen. It must be a needed patch. Just a heads up.
]]>The plugin in “All-in-One WP Migration” by Servmask which I’ve used for years without fault now fails to backup when this GA Google Anylytics plugin is activated. Spent 2 days with the developers trying to nail it down and this is the problem. Any ideas as to why its causing this issue? Thanks
]]>Even though we only have one GA code specified in the plugin settings, and only one code shows up embedded in the source code, two other codes that we used previously are still sent in header responses and data is still being sent to those alternate sources. I can see this in Developer Tools under the Network tab – if I refresh the page with this plugin enabled, 3 different codes show up in the header response. If I disable the plugin, no codes show up. So somehow they are all coming from this plugin, but how is it still holding on to previous codes? I have cleared site cache multiple times and searched the database for the old codes – nothing in there. Does it cache embed codes somewhere else?
Any insight would be appreciated.

Hey,
Just cleaned a malware that was injected into our website from a wp_option related to the plugin. I don’t have an idea yet on how it happened but it appears to be from your plugin.
Please have a look at the code below.

]]>Hi,
I created a UTM code for the last podcast show notes page but it didn’t show up on my google analytics. So my question is why didn’t this show up?
Is the pro version needed to track UTM codes that are created?
As far as I understand as long as the UTM code format is created correctly it’s ready to be used and doesn’t have to be added to google analytics or added to a plugin for example. Google knows that the code has been used and will show its use in the google analytic reports.

There are 2 different tags being shown with 2 different ID’s. There is one in the head and one in the body. Wondering if this is expected behaviour? The one in the body is the correct ID I need, however in the plugin I’ve specified for it to be in the head tag.

]]>Hi,
We run a multisite instance and I’ve network activated the GA plugin. However, the tracking script is only being rendered on pages at the root (e.g. https://sites.tufts.edu/) but not on the subdirectory site pages (e.g. https://sites.tufts.edu/educationopportunities/).
What am I missing? Thanks!

]]>Hey there,
Google Ads are running on my website and i configurated a Lead-Conversion. Google Ads says i should add gtag(‘config’, ‘AW-XXXXXXXXX’);
So I added this tag in the “Custom Tracker Objects” Field of the Plugin, so in the field is “gtag(‘config’, ‘AW-XXXXXXXXX’);”
Is that right?
Greetings

]]>Upon looking through analytics, we found under the “categories” tab that the chart is showing $0 in sales while the table directly beneath contradicts it. The data in google analytics matches the table.
Anyone know of anything we need to do to make this show correctly?

]]>Hello Jeff,
As per the title, the site in question is running bilingual with WPML and WooCommerce and using 2 currencies.
Will your free plugin track that as well? Or is an upgrade to the premium version necessary or do neither track these sorts of data?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,

I am doing a dive into Google Analytics via a Linked In class. In Part 5 “Audiences” the instructor discusses creating an “audience” under “Configure” on the menu on the left side of the GA Reports screen. I don’t have “Configure” in my menu, and am missing “Explore” as well. I’m wondering if the free version of Google Analytics plugin omits this data? It doesn’t seem that this would be the case, but I’m not able to come up with another hypothesis!
]]>We need to replace an abandoned plugin called Google Analytics Multisite Async so that we can support GA4 in our multisite network. That plugin had a network setting that allowed you to set one code for all sites on the network. Then each individual site could set their own tracking ID via a site-specific settings page. Then both UA codes would load in the tracking script.
Does the pro version of GA Google Analytics have this feature?
]]>Hello. So offering the option to Opt Out/Opt In makes a simple website GDPR compliant, right? (A website that only uses GA for tracking)

Thank you for this really nice plugin, I got the pro version and love it.
Hello!
Just an FYI for anyone using Universal Analytics. As explained here:
Universal Analytics (UA) will be deprecated on July 1, 2023, which means it will stop processing data.
Google advises to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) before the stop date.
Does this plugin still support Universal Analytics?
Yes, absolutely.
The only change at this point, is that Universal Analytics tracking method is labeled as “deprecated” in the plugin settings. There are no plans to remove support for the Universal Analytics tracking method until sometime after the official stop date, July 1st 2023. At that time, Google will stop processing data for Universal Analytics.
If you want to change over to Google Analytics 4 (GA4), there are simple steps available on the plugin homepage, a few paragraphs down, under the section, “Enable Google Analytics 4”.
Important: Do not reply to this post! If you need help with anything, please post a new topic in the plugin support forum. Thank you!

Today I configured Google Tag Manager and wanted to get rid of the analytics code that was previously uploaded by the GA Google Analytics plugin.
Unfortunately, after disabling the plugin, Google Tag Assistant still shows that gtag.js is on the page. The problem is that it does not show in the page code preview…. I can’t find the location of the gtag and I would like to remove it due to possible traffic reporting errors.

]]>Hi there,
We want to integrate this google analytics option with your plugin, how do we do it?
]]>I updated this website completely (was very past due for this) Since doing so the Google Analytics plugin does not produce any results. I went to the Google Analytics page and “updated” that to G4 – or at least I think so, but still it is stating there is no data for the selected date range. Can someone help me clear this up. I know this is vague but I don’t know where to start.

]]>Hi.
When adding it in your plugin under “GA Tracking ID” I believe the format should be G-XXXXXXXXX
and it will probably save a headache or two for you and the users by putting this in the docs for your plugin. https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/12326985
Thank you for your plugin! It is helpful.
]]>Hello Jeff,
I have installed the plugin a couple of weeks ago, and set it up according to the How to Use guide. Made a new GA account, grabbed the tracking ID from it and pasted it into the plugin, chose Global Site Tag and saved. I checked my GA account today and there is still no data.
I have searched this forum for some related entries and I understand what you explained – that the plugin only does one thing: adds the required tracking code to your web pages. So I was wondering if you could let me know if the plugin is adding the tracking code to my page properly… ?
I would appreciate any help, thank you.

Hi,
I’m a novice with analytics and want to try your plugin but don’t understand a few things. First, do I just use the Measurement Id only in your plugin?
Or do I also paste the Global Site Tag (gtag.js) that would go in the header or footer in the Custom Tracker Objects box in your plugin as well?
I tried it but it wouldn’t stay, got a WordFence error message to confirm this activity.
I’ve created new properties for the GA4 in July but am trying to figure out how to configure it using your plugin. If you have any tutorials for novices, please let me know or if you can tell me where to place the above with your plugin.
Thank you in advance.
