I realize this plugin was developed about 9 years ago but it was very helpful for me to recently migrate an old Gallery 2 site to WordPress. The site had over 1000 galleries and 13000 images so the process took a long time and much customization but eventually succeeded. The SQL queries were especially helpful in assisting me to understand the Gallery 2 database structure.

If anyone is still attempting to use this plugin, I believe it will work out-of-the-box for a small Gallery site but the key is to first install a very old version of WordPress before starting the migration. I used WP version 3.1.4 and after the import updated to 5.7.1;

I’m attempting to import the albums from a gallery2 installation, the error i get when i run the import process is: Couldn’t select gallery comments from the database.

I don’t really want the comments important anyway, can i leave them out?

I’ve tried using both 3.1 and 3.0 of this plugin on two WP installations – one 3.1.3 and the other 3.2.1 – and it wouldn’t work on either.

On both blogs the plugin gets as far as writing the header of step 1 then gives up. The last line of the page source is

`Import Gallery2`

I was excited to hear about this plugin and have a question. Gallery2 allows mixed media galleries (e.g., galleries containing photos and videos). How does the Gallery2 Importer plugin handle galleries which include videos?
