When I added the plugin to my site, it was prior to when WP moved to Guttenberg and changed everything to blocks. Now when editing the old pages, I can’t see anything but text in the classic editor. This means that I can’t see or change the color of the buttons, remove old information etc. This is especially frustrating since the buttons are invisible on the page unless someone hovers their mouse cursor over them.
If I delete an old book and redo the page from scratch, the old version of the plugin shows up at the top of the page, before the blocks. There doesn’t seem to be any way to remove it. Deactivating and deleting the plugin before reinstalling it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’m at a loss at what steps I would need to take to fix this at this point, including what files I would need to scrub in the database.
Hi,
I put all the information in blocks, but i don’t see it in the page.
I fill out the buttons for buy, editorial, price, almost everything.
I use generatepress as my wordpress theme.
Help me with this, thank you!

Great work so far bringing some development to this tool! One thing I’m looking for is how to show reviews on a static homepage along with reviews. Is it possible?

Do you have any plan to update this plugin? Currently WordPress is advicing me that this plugin was not updated since 1 year ago and “hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
This can be a security issue and I was curious if you inted to update it soon?
Thanks,
Florin
Hello Above Average Reader,
I’d like to be able to add a script and html to the book meta area – below the book cover image.
How can this be done?
Thank you,

]]>Hello,
I’d like to add a Shopify Lite button to the sidebar of book pages under the book image. The button is a JS and can be seen on the book page link provided (button is orange).
It would be nice to do it without modifying the plugin files so there won’t be a problem with plugin updates. However, it doesn’t seem like the plugin is prioritized to have a major updated any time soon, so I’m less concerned about that (will backup files).
Thank you so much for any help and hints.

Highly Optional Reading:
If anyone wonders “Why Shopify button?” here is some context below:
I do like the theme and plugin and hope to make things work. I’m doing this work for free for a jazz pianist who is generous with his time and making great content. In exchange it’s good experience for me. I would like to implement WooCommerce (like his current site is using) at some point but will need to learn how to implement it in a very minimalist way for a digital product. His current site makes it too time-consuming for people to buy courses by having lots of unnecessary form fields to complete. Additionally, he’s not able to update many plugins (including WooCommerce) without breaking the transaction process; so I’m not sure what the previous developer did to cause that. So the Shopify Lite button seems to be a good low cost solution for now.
]]>I love the plugin and theme.
I did a search for this topic and while I did find something related, I want to be sure I’m referring to the same thing in hopes of finding a solution.
I am redesigning an existing and well-established site to the Author Theme and plugin. It’s extremely important to keep the exact URL for product pages. Otherwise, there is a substantial risk of losing visibility in search results. I realize implementing 301 redirects is a solution that’s usually good enough, but not in this case.
For example, must be able to change:
example.com/book/lesson-bundle/ (the permalink URL this plugin creates)
to
example.com/product/lesson-bundle/ (the URL of existing site)
Currently, the plugin doesn’t allow the change from “book” to “product”.
The ability to match URL’s of an existing site is an extremely important and fundamental feature to have in this plugin. It also greatly increases the chance that someone with an existing site will use it.
Does anyone have a solution to this until the way above-average developers have the chance to update the plugin?

]]>I’m finding that while the book pages rescale nicely with the Magazine Pro theme, they don’t do so well with Aspire Pro. At intermediate sizes, the book cover overlays the description text, which in turn overlays the buy buttons. Clearly, the css isn’t working well with this theme. Any idea of how to fix this?
]]>Is there a way to change the order of the books on the library archive?
Second, is there a way to increase the number of books shown on the library archive?

Is there a way to get the book title to be centered on the page instead of left justified? See link above
]]>How can I remove the published date (from under the title) on my book pages?
Also – it shows “January 28, 2020 by” under the title. I didn’t add an author, so is there any way to remove the word “by” as well? This seems like a bug.
]]>Hello,
I tried searching forums but I think since the wording of this request is so similar to wording used in other contexts, it’s really hard to find an answer on this. Also tried google to no avail.
Anyway, I’m curious if there is an author archive for this plugin? I know that may seem a bit awkward since each author is basically acting like a category or tag in this plugin, wherein the books belonging to each author are shown in their individual archives.
I would like to get authors to display in the same fashion as the book series, except to show a list of authors that have been set up with the authors taxonomy.
In other words, the same way WordPress can display “all posts” in a blog, regardless of category or tag, I’d like to show authors the same way with this plugin.
Using the same template as the books is fine. I’m just curious how to set it up or enable it, or if there is a URL in the plugin for this already?
I tried /authors/ and /author/ and they didn’t work.
Sorry if I’m being blind and don’t see something obvious here…
Thank you!
]]>When the plugin displays, the list of books, it shows only one price per book.
However, the author has both a print and a different e-book price.
How can I display both prices without creating two entires for the same book?
I need more than 3 buy buttons. I see that cjcagle @cjcagle asked the same question and somehow figured it out. Any ideas? TIA
]]>Hi,
I have an issue with the book pages on my site. For some reason, the featured image (my book cover) is crammed directly below the page title (my book title). It’s like this on every book page, and it has been like the whole 4 years I’ve been using the Author Pro theme. It’s bothered me all this time! It doesn’t look like this on the Author Pro Demo or on other authors’ sites who use this theme. On the demo, the featured image is even with the text (book description) beside it.
Is there some CSS code that can fix this so that the image is even with the text? This what it looks like in the demo:
https://demo.studiopress.com/author/book/life-itself/
StudioPress wanted me to change the size of my image in the php file for the theme and use the regenerate thumbnails plugin, but my image is the correct size. It’s the exact same size as the one on their demo. I am not tech savvy and I definitely don’t want to attempt to change any theme files, especially when I doubt that will solve the problem.
Thanks so much for any help with this!
Im just trying to adjust the book cover size to be square.
I tried following the steps i saw in an old post – however they did not work.
Any idea’s?
]]>Hello All,
I hope this is an easy fix. I would like for my blog page, and ONLY my blog page, to have a sidebar. When I set the theme to content, primary sidebar, it adds a sidebar to my about me page and the newsletter page. When I go into page attributes the only options are default and landing. I don’t have full width, sidebar, etc in the page attribute dropdown menu. In the default option, the pages have a sidebars. The landing page option removes both the sidebar and the header menu from the pages. Is there an easy fix–a checkbox I’m missing somewhere—or do I need to download additional page templates? If so, where do I find the page templates?
]]>We have been using a custom WordPress theme built on Genesis. We’re a publisher, so it was using /book/ for all our books. But, we just activated this plugin, and now none of our original /book/ URLs work — all were going to a 404, and now they redirect to the homepage.
Ideally we just undo what happened. Please help.
]]>The menus are not adding items. The loading icon just keeps spinning. Any suggestions on how to reboot/restart/fix/update the menu section?
]]>The Author Pro book dimensions are fixed to very thin books. My books are more like textbooks, the standard size being 8.5×11. I tried to upload these thinking the site would automatically keep the dimensions, but instead the site cuts off margins and displays awkward covers.
Author Pro directions say to crop all books accordingly: “The recommended book cover image upload size is 720 x 1140 pixels which will be displayed at 360 x 570 pixels.”
I would like to adjust this size to 850 x 1100, then let the crop sizes adjust automatically. In other words, I’d like to upload my images and have the books display proportionately WITHOUT indiscriminately cropping off edges.
]]>My client has a book written by two authors. I have designated the author I would like to appear first as ‘primary author’ in the plugin, but despite this the author who is not the primary author is listed as the primary author. This can cause professional offence so I am contemplating listing the book as having no authors and thus forcing readers to look at the book cover to see the authorship.
How can I get the primary author to be listed first on the website page?
]]>I need to add some additional buy buttons to a book page in Studiopress Author-Pro
]]>Two questions:
1. I need to learn how to change the number of columns on the book archive page. Currently it is 3 books, I need it to be 4 coulumns if possible.
2. I need to have all of our books listed on the author archive page. Currently it defaults to two rows of three, with bottom links to more pages.
I find no controls for these functions.
Thanks,
