Not sure why you would say using traditional widgets is irrelevant. There are millions still using classic editor simply because it’s better. Sad you are discontinuing this plugin.

The text from the page that the widget is pulling from is being cut off at the boarder. It does not cut off in “preview”.

This problem is only visible on desktop.

How can I customize this widget so the featured posts only show posts in the same category as the parent page? For example, if I am currently viewing a recipe, I only want to see other recipes, not items from other categories, in the Featured Posts widget?

I was surprised to still find messages in my log about this deprecated genesis function. It’s now 1 year and 4 months after I first brought it to you and you acknowledged this would be solved in a next version. But perhaps that version is still in the works?

I manually changed the calls to that function in my own copy now, but should it have been fixed by now too. Only the function name prefix has to be changed from genesis_ to wp_ and now I have to keep track of that every time I reinstall the plugin on another website.

genesis_get_additional_image_sizes() right now just calls wp_get_additional_image_sizes() and returns the result, so changing it will only remove the deprecation warning and impact nothing else.

I hope you get to finish the more gutenberg compatible version of your plugin, but perhaps this can be fixed the current version for now too. Just two function calls in inc/widget-class.php

Hi, I just set up 3 featured page with the genesis featured page advance plugin and the images do not appear. What could be the problem? and how can I solve it without coding? Or maybe the problem is with the theme I am using?

I am very new to WordPress and am trying to find my way through all there is to learn. I am having trouble with this plug-in (Genesis Featured Page Advanced). My website seems fine and I can not direct any problems or broken links. I only discovered this problem when I tried to live preview a new theme for my website. I was taken to an error page. I contacted my hosting provider and they recommended I check my plugins to see if one was having a problem. I deactivated all of them and then activated them one by one to see if there was one plugin that was having the issue. All plugins worked fine with the live preview (new theme live preview) except for Genesis Featured Page Advanced and Custom Featured Post Widget. I also have a problem with Custom Featured Post Widget (I am not sure if they are connected in any way?)
I am not sure what to do, my thought was to contact the plugin support and ask what to do.
This is what comes up (when I click the live preview for any new theme) when I have the Genesis Featured Page Advanced activated:

Only this on a white screen. When I have the Custom Featured Post Widget activated then I am taken to an error page.
Also if this helps, the theme I have now is a pro theme and I installed all the required plugins that the theme required to appear like the demo. These 2 plugins I’m having a problem with were required plugins.
Please help, I do not know where to go from here.

If someone just wants to change out an image and nothing else, the Save button does not activate. We need to tell them to put a space in the title and then remove the space to activate the Save button. Then the new image will Save. Is there a fix for that?

Hi, I’m having trouble getting my “blog page” to show up in the drop-down. I’m trying to get it to look like the other two (about and contact). It worked before, but now for some reason, it just lists the posts all on the same page.
The only difference between the pages is the “blog page” is a posts page as the other 2 pages that do work correctly, (about and contact) are regular pages.
What can I do to get my “blog page” to show up in the drop-down menu so I can select it?

In Beaver Builder, the custom image upload button is not working, the console displays ReferenceError: fpa_imageUpload is not defined
I checked and it seems the plugin is only enqueuing the scripts on the admin pages, while Beaver Builder is a frontend builder. So enqueueing the scripts when BB is active fixes the problem. I thought you might want to know this, maybe you can include the fix in the next version.

I have 3 featured page images that will not align no matter what I do. They worked perfectly before. All I did was change the featured pages/images.

I’m setting up a new theme (Kylee More) and it requires this widget in order to create links to two category pages. I’m able to set up the first page, albeit the photos are not cropped/resized, and when I attempt to set up the second, I’m unable to actually update the second widget, it keeps resetting the first. None of my edits can actually be updated, because once I exit the photo select screen or url customization, it resets the first widget. Is this an issue of the browser or theme?

It seems that since genesis version 2.5 genesis_get_additional_image_sizes() has been deprecated. Perhaps you want to change your usage of it to wp_get_additional_image_sizes(), like advised? genesis_get_additional_image_sizes() right now is just a wrapper function to wp_get_additional_image_sizes() anyways, so it would make no difference in result.

It’s being called in widget-class.php line 442 and 475.

Thanks for developing this plug-in, much appreciated.

I’ve used a ‘Custom Page Title’, however, it’s not pulling through the correct stylesheet. The title colour and position is not correct and also there’s a black border at the bottom of the image.

You can see this on the page where the first row of three is using the standard featured page widget, which is pulling the right stylesheet, but with no custom field.

The second row of three is the advanced featured page widget with the challenges I’ve outlined above.

I am having a very odd issue in this sandbox (just building a site here) with navigation drop-downs. They flicker, for lack of another word.

Odd as I have used this on several sites and never had this issue.

If I disable Genesis Featured Page Advanced, the problem goes away.

You will need a password to see the site. Can I send that privately some how?

The site is using Genesis 3.2.1 and WordPress 5.3.2

I received the message a fetal error has been detected. I was in the middle of changing a theme and now the ‘clone version’ of my site is offline.
I get the following message:

“An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 442 of the file /var/www/wptbox/wp-content/plugins/genesis-featured-page-advanced/inc/widget-class.php. Is it possible to add a hyperlink to each of the images in the Gallery – in the widget area?

The links work fine within posts (link set to media – but that can be changed) but they don’t work when adding a gallery in the widget area.

What i am missing is that i can set the full widget as a link?
So not just on Title and Readm more …

After updating to Genesis 3.0, the Genesis Featured Page Advanced widget is no longer an available widget at Appearance > Widgets. Any active Featured Page Advanced widgets are deleted after updating.

I’m using this on a client site (Executive Pro Theme if it matters) and they want the page excerpt text to show above the image instead of below. Is it possible to add that to the plugin as an option like you’ve done with the title location checkbox?

I’m using this plugin on my home page. The image in question is the watermark with the title Read April’s Blog. For this link, I am using a custom image set at “Square entry image 360 x 360,” which should match the three other Feature Page Advanced Widgets that surround it. However, when using the Inspect option on Chrome, I discovered that it is not, in fact, changing. Any ideas on how to make it resize to the correct 360 x 360 size?

I’ve added some featured pages to my home page with them alternating between left and right alignment. However, somehow, te custom text I’ve added goes over the image on the page.

Hello, How do I make the images fill the entire widget?

I am using magazine pro theme. All the features of this plugin are using exact theme’s style except More Text feature. This is just added as simple hyperlink text. “More text” added using this plugin is different from the one added using Genesis featured
