When I purchased and installed the premium version of this plugin in 2014, it worked well and the developers were very responsive to any questions I had. Fast forward to mid-2015 when it started misbehaving and it seems the developers have fallen off the planet. I emailed multiple times, reached out to both of them via Twitter, and tried everything I could think of to get some help. NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I am now switching to WP Ultimate Recipe but it’s going to mean re-entering all my many recipes. I will also mention that deleting the GetMeCooking plugin still leaves A LOT of stuff in your database. I’ve had to spend a couple hours manually deleting a lot of stuff out of there. This plugin works well… just pray nothing goes wrong and that you don’t need any support. You’ve been warned!

I purchased the premium version because it offered category lists and the display examples looked great. I couldn’t get these to work on my theme (2015), so I contacted the developers. Once, twice, three, four times. 3 weeks later still no support. I had 2 replies saying ‘moving’ and ‘on holiday’with a promise to look at the issues on their return. Another week passed and I was loosing my patience. One final email and I got a reply which said the plugin was a hobby and they wouldn’t be able to help me!!! Obviously I received a refund (in Euros, so I lost out with the exchange rate) and I moved all my recipes to Easyrecipe Plus. The support I received this time was second to none. Utterly impressed with Easyrecipe Plus. Totally disappointed with getmecooking. Lesson learned.

I’ve been testing this plugin for a few weeks now (well mostly I was waiting to see if it did get the pictures into Google’s rich-snippets, which Google’s bots finally did pick up today). It’s great and generally works very well. BUT…
There’s a bug in which sometimes all of the recipe ingredients and steps get duplicated. I *think* (90% sure) it happens when a recipe is previewed from the “add new” recipe section.
It could be a minor annoyance and a negligible bug, but it’s upgraded to a major one because the way this plugin works, every time you delete a step or an ingredient the screen refreshes (instead of a little tickbox/bulk action system or something), and I ended up finding it faster and cleaner to delete and re-enter a 13 ingredient, 5 step recipe which got quadrupled than it was to fix it.
If it gets fixed, you get your 5 stars. ?? I’m sending a donation regardless, please keep supporting this plugin.

This recipe plugin is very easy to install, configure and customise.
The central management style of recipes means that I can manage all of the recipes in one place, then simply select which of these recipes (one or many) that I want to include in blog posts. Then if I want to edit a recipe, I do it from the plugin and it will update the recipe in all of my blog posts.
The recipes inherit the style of whichever theme I am using, meaning that I can change themes as many times as I want, or manually change the style of a theme (e.g. the text size) and the recipes will automatically match this. It also allows me to over-ride the theme settings if I want, so I can have a unique style for my recipes.
Plus Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) features are embedded within the recipes, so they show up (with photographs and other recipe information) in Bing, Google, Yahoo and other search engines.
The free version has all of the features that most food bloggers will want, but the premium version of the plugin (which is very easy to upgrade to) has more features, such as a recipe index.

I like it a lot. I just wish there was an easy way to use full size pictures on the blog post view. I think my blog looks best with big colorful pictures.

Love it, will likely actually upgrade to premium (for the first time ever with a plug-in)
