Instead of this, I was able to use Google’s new translate service. I got the code for the widget here: https://translate.google.com/translate_tools
It gives you the code. Now, I could add that to a custom widget.

Thanks

]]>Since the Google Translate API “has been officially deprecated as of May 26, 2011” and “will be shut off completely on December 1, 2011” [https://code.google.com/apis/language/translate/overview.html] I was wondering if there is a future for this great plugin or whether we should all switch to the (less pretty) Google Translate Element in the next few months.
It would be great if some of the plugin creators could chime in here and share their plans, thanks!
]]>Guess another great plugin on the farewell bus.
Suggestions for a good replacement?????
I use 3.13 and the plugin does work, but gets a bit banana’s sometimes. I think it has to do with W3 Total Cache (I have NOT minified the js and css, because then it doesn’t work).
What I get is the [Translate] link sometimes just shows up in random languages. It is always the first language on top of the selection popup box, but that could be any language. I have seen Arabic, Turkey and many more. Well mine should be in Dutch, which it many times is, but not always.
Not sure if it is related to what others say here in the forum, since the rest of the plugin functions.
Thank you and regards, Ron

]]>I get a JavaScript error: jQuery.translate is undefined after I install this plugin and try to launch the translate popup.

Sorry!
I had not paid attention for a while but today I upgraded to WP 3.1.3 and noticed no Translate link is displayed within any post after enabling it.
Any clue what could be happening?
]]>I installed the plugin and had it insert the translation link above the posts and pages. It worked beautifully. But then I inserted the manual method PHP into the custom function of my Thesis custom functions file (and yes, I know how to do all this) and it will not display.
The only way I can use this is to be able to manually place the [translate] link. Any help?

]]>Using this plugin, the text “[Translate]” is included in the beginning of all automatically generated excerpts on my site. I’ve placed the translate button directly into the template, and I’m using CSS to hide the automatically-placed translate button from my posts– but I can’t figure out how to remove it from the excerpt.
Is there some way to use this plugin fully manually… so that the link only appears where I specify in the template? Or, if not, is there a way I can remove “[Translate]” from my excerpts?
Thank you
]]>I added the template tag to the homepage of my site:
<?php
if( method_exists( $GoogleTranslation, ‘google_ajax_translate_button’ ) ) {
$GoogleTranslation -> google_ajax_translate_button();
}

It is inside the loop (I put it right after the call for the_content, but the translator link doesn’t show up. Looking at the source code, the translation link has display: none on it.
Is there any fix to this? Thanks!

]]>Hello,
I get an error when clicking the Translate-link. Or rather, nothing happens, but Firefox’s error console states:
Error: syntax error
File: javascript:show_translate_popup('da',%20'post',%20);
Line: 1, Column: 35
Sourcecode:
show_translate_popup('da', 'post', );
Can be tested out at https://andersmortensen.eu/manifest/new-large-image-test
Click “[Overs?t]” at the top right corner.
<?php wp_footer(); ?> is in the footer.php, so it’s probably not that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I will of course donate should this turn out successful ??
]]>Hi…
I am using custom theme, WP 3.0.1, and Google Ajax Translation 0.6.0
The plugin functionality is working fine, in term it display the button in post, pages, and comments. It also show up translation language to choose. And it also display the translation result.
One small issue bothering me because I can’t find out the solution. It’s the circle ball, it show bordered blank white space below [Translate] button. It suppose to display circling ball beside the button, right?
I do not change the google-ajax-translation.css, just use the plugin as it is.
Would you please help me to troubleshot this issue?
One of the sample post is:

BTW, I see that in my source html the jquery is 1.4.2 and your jquery.translate-1.4.1.min.js
Thank you in advance for your help.

Some comments written in English will translate to Japanese, but some won’t.
Plugin is great except cannot dialog in comments between Japanese and English. If I change the blog lang to Eng or Japanese does not matter. A few of my english comments will translate to Japanese but most won’t.
Can this work? Comment both ways translating?
TY
Using the network install of 3.01 and a WP3 compatible theme. Just text and no active area eg flags or options show.

Are there any possibilities for this whith this plugin?
