In the plugin the author says “Choose analytics.js if you are using Universal Analytics. Set a php global variable $ga_userId if you want to use Google’s User Id tracking.”

What does this mean? The plugin author refuses to answer in the support area. The whole challenge with implementing user id tracking for UA IS the variable to use.
