How to use the plug-in data in my own theme without using a widget?

I get this error message after activating the plug-in and saving my data.
The whole message is:
‘GAPI: Failed to request report data. Error: “Request failed, fopen provides no further information”‘

First I thought it’s because cURL isn’t activated but fopen should work anyway because of the fopen fallback, if I’m right.

My System is WP 3.5.2 and the latest “Google Analytics Popular Posts” Version.

On my blog https://www.domainname.co.uk/bog is showing up as the most popular post. I have put blog in the GAPI filter, I have also tried /%postname%/ as this is my permalink structure but when I do this nothing displays? Please help, otherwise it is great. Thank you

Is the fetched data only stored in the transient cache? I’d like to be able to sort queries by their recent popularity, which would require some kind of meta data. Just curious…

This plugin was working wonderfully until last week when I started to get the following message:

It would be great to have option what filter operator to use for the regular expressions. Currently the filter is =~ or including what the regex selects. However having !~ (exclusion) is more beneficial in the case of my blog.

I installed this plugin on the testing version of my blog (antrodesigns.com/ifyoucanread) and it seems to have completely broken my sidebar. Checking the site with Firebug, I discovered that the output has an extra </div> tag at the end of the widget that isn’t there when the plugin is disabled. I looked at the php code, but I can’t find it anywhere.

Out of the box this plugin diplays the top landing pages feed and not the top content feed that relates to the most popular pages.

As it comes out of the box this plugin does not show most popular content, it displays the most popular landing pages – and that can be totally different to your most popular posts.

To display the top content feed from google analytiscs do the following:

open the popular posts php file and on line 360 change array(‘visits’), array(‘-visits’) to array(‘pageviews’), array(‘-pageviews’)

you will then display the most visited pages – hope this little tweak will help someone.

Great plugin, it was working correctly but when we moved to MU installation it no longer shows titles, only URLs. Is there a reason why it would do that? It showed titles before moving to MU.

Hi, I’m trying to exclude from Google Analytics Popular Posts any posts of mine that have pictures which are linked after the post title:

include:
/yyyy/mm/dd/postTitle
exclude:
/yyyy/mm/dd/postTitle/image

I tried to use the and operator && to add another line, but keep getting errors.

If I use:
[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]/[0-9][0-9]/[0-9][0-9]/.*?/

I get a list of my most-popular pictures, but I want all these excluded.

I like the fact your getting results from google analytics. Does that mean you can’t provide thumbnails?

Also I was hoping to specific what category the results come from. What is happening is it shows pages and I just want it to show posts. So I did the GAPI Filter, but I can’t get the results I need. Is there a way you can get %year% to work? My permalink is %year%/%month%/%day%/title

So when I do the GAPI Filter: 2011 it will show all posts in 2011, but I’m needing the results of all posts.

Hi there, awesome plugin. It works exactly like I wanted! I was hoping you could help with something.

I’m currently using a theme by WooThemes which has its own built-in “Popular Posts” widget. You can see it on my site here: https://dispatchesfromafootballsofa.com
The problem is that the theme’s built-in function determines popularity based on number of comments, but I want popularity to be based on number of page views like in the plugin you’ve written.

Do you know where or how I can call your function instead? I figured, logically, it would be as easy as pasting GoogleAnalyticsPopularPosts_view() into just the right spot. That would mean the least amount of code changes. What do you think?

Thanks a lot for your work. I could install the plugin very easily. I just wonder if it is possible to show the title of the blog post (of course, clicking on the title should bring you to the page) instead of the URL. That would look much nicer.
