Great plugin, but I wish to use a QR code for scanning when I log in.

Works! Uses WordPress UI, is super lightweight, not overdesigned, and is trivial to set up. Great job!

Fatal error: Uncaught Firebase\JWT\BeforeValidException: Cannot handle token prior to 2023-04-30T20:30:33+0000 in …\one-tap-google-sign-in\includes\vendor\firebase\php-jwt\src\JWT.php
I understand it requires synchronization, but you need to handle this error properly.
Cheers

One of my sites got hacked and some spam blogs posted. Don’t know how they got access but decided to add 2FA as a preventative. Implemented for all authors. Works out of the box, simple interface without lots of bells and whistles.

Since a few days the plugin stopped working. It used to work perfect. Users who have Google Authenticator activated can’t login anymore. They get the message that their username/password is invalid while it isn’t. They’re able to login again when I deactivate Google Authenticator in their profile.
Is this a known bug, if so, how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Great little app. Easy to use and install, does the job. Saves me from having to use Wordfence, which is much resource heavier.

This plugin works fine with PHP 7.4 and WP 6.0, if you’re using them. However, 7.4 ceases all support 28th Nov, 2022. At the time of my comment, this is 5 months away. Time is ticking.
PHP 8.0 is in use on my server with WP 6.0. While WP works without issue, the plugin does not. Occasionally I get failures to authenticate. To get around this I have to login to the database and manually disable this plugin. The error log reports “Undefined array key” over and over. There is a different documented bug that has been solved by users you can find under the “Support” tab.
The GitHub repo has gone untouched since 8th December, 2020. I fear this plugin has been abandoned. Unfortunate really. It’s dead simple to use with none of the extra stuff you don’t want that other plugins cram in.

Does what it promises. Was easy to install. Hopefully we get updates…

It is a straightforward tool and does what it says. Very easy to use and setup.
Thank you.

I use the plugin on WordPress 5.7.1 and it works.
ATTENTION:
The program currently does not work together with the WPS Hide Login plugin if you use the “Two Screen Signin” option.

Works great in native wp-login.php form, but other forms through a critical site error if you attempt to login to a user that has 2fa enabled.
Namely the woocommerce login form, in a scenario where 2fa is in a seperate page not the same form.
I appreciate the dev work, and keep up the good work, but minor issues like are a big deal in production sites. Bots alone attempting to login can fill error log real quick.

this plugin works perfectly, I’ve used it on many sites.

I like this plugin because it is simple and not creating failed login event like the 2FA option from WordFence. Do not get me wrong, WordFence is a very good plugin with amazing functionality, just the 2FA part is inconvenient. In WordFence, if I do not enter the code in the password field, I will get a failed login event if I am entering the code in a separate window. The Google Authenticator login window solves this problem by adding the Google Authenticator Code field into the login page. This creates a little confusion for novice users, but a small message label or check-mark can eliminate the confusion.

Personally I feel 2FA should be a part of WordPress core. But since it isn’t, plugins like this one are a must-have to secure your sites.
The configuration interface is clearly layed out and the login page fits in perfectly with the default WP login page styling.
This plugin is light-weight, unobtrusive, free and adds that extra layer of security. Should your admin credentials ever be compromised, 2FA will keep your site secure.

When entering the settings I want to exit the settings page does not allow and reloads the same page

I installed this plugin and after activating it and looking at the security page, decided not to go forward with it. I thought I could just go to my plugin listing and deactivate it (like all other plugins let you). But no such luck! Now my website is stuck on the activation page, and won’t let me access anything else on my website. THIS PLUGIN SUCKS SHIT!!! AND SHOULD BE BANNED.

You can authenticate with ANY 6 digit number, this does nothing.

The plugin has sadly not been updated in a while, but I’ve been using it for years without any issues. I just recently rechecked it after seeing other reviews that the plugin is just a facade. The plugin prevents me from login in with correct password and username if I either enter a wrong 6 digit code or leave the code field blank. So, so far so good on my end. I’m on WP 5.1

Easy to set up just search on it under your profil settings, don’t forget to tick the ACTIVEATE box too! Or else it won’t work.
@mbrsolution You were right I might miss that, even if I checked it twice. I changed my rating too! Thanks for the plugin!

Perfect totally free 2FA WP tool!

Google Authentication made simple. I wish the plugin still received updates, but for now it still works!

The active button was easy to miss, but appears to work once enabled.

Love this plugin, have it installed on most of my sites.
It provides a brilliant 2FA to the login stage.
Handy tip:
Once installed and activated the plugin, head to Users > find your profile.
Click Edit.
Scroll down to Google Authenticator Settings
Tick the box next to Active
In Description give your site a user friendly name.
Click Show/Hide QR Code.
Now open your Google Authenticator app, click on the + and scan in the QR code shown by WordPress.
Next time you log in you’ll need to provide your user name & password as before, along with a time sensitive 6 digit code from the Google Authenticator app.

Tried different things but nothing helps. You can leave the the field blank and access anyway. There is no function behind the plug-in. I suppose the developer has retired.

This plugin only presents a UI/facade of security. It’ll prompt you for a 6 digit PIN during login, but any 6 digit pin is accepted as correct and you can login !!
This needs to be looked into as a bug/compatibility issue or something because it’s a very serious defect.
There is another plugin “Two Factor” which when installed into the same installation works just as expected (and is honestly better with email, yubikey etc support).

Just works! But need add [Per User Prompt] functionality.

It does not work! If the field is free it works without code.

I needed a quick solution for 2 factor authentication. This plugin did the trick. No fuss, no bother! It just works….

I use this on the sites where login security needs to go beyond a password. It works perfectly.
