Works as advertised

This is a very small plugin and it does the job well.

I was really frustrated for this. But finally this plugin saves my day!!!

Excellent plugin, very well made.
Would be great to add drop down menu support as William Wilkerson tried to do in his rip-off version. If you append the extra option with js rather than prepending it as he did, it will even work on most browsers. ??
Thanks for a great plugin.

Exactly what I needed, works great.

Thank your for great plugin. Works each time right our of the box. Simply add class to element and all is done on the fly. Great work!

Thanks for making something simple, intuitive and reliable right out of the box!

I love this plugin and use it on nearly project, this should honestly be part of the Gravity forms plugin itself.

Works perfect for my user scenario, which is simply to move the field label into the input.
]]>Rating: 4 stars
This Add On works by taking whatever you have as the Field Label and hiding it, then using that for the placeholder text….you simply have to add a Class to the input on the Advanced tab.
SO it works, but isn’t ideal in the event that you want your placeholder text to be different from your label, and/or you don’t want the label hidden. It’s a workaround at best for a feature that Gravity Forms SHOULD have built-in and that GF users have been requesting for a long, long time.
Until GF adds in a option to easily add placeholder text to all input fields, I hope the developers of this Add On will consider adding the ability to specify different placeholder text from the label, and the option to not hide the label.
But if all you need is to have the label appear inside of the input field as placeholder text then this works very well.

Great work. Make sure you add the “gplaceholder” CSS class as instructed. I got a little lost trying to figure out how to get it to work….until I read the instructions ?? go figure!! ??
Great Work!

Great job on this plugin!
I looked for a while on how to do this and finally found this plugin. Thanks!
A couple of enhancement ideas:
Rating: 4 stars
After trying https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-placeholder-text-in-gravity-forms/ (didn’t get it to work in IE10) on a site I went over to this plugin, and it works great.
Although it would have been even better to have a checkbox in form edit to check if you wanted this function active instead of having to paste/type the classname (I know, it’s a tiny tiny problem, but still a thing that made me have to go to the Installation-tab after I installed it).
It would also been even better if it was possible to hide the star for required fields in an easy way. Or is there?
Great plugin! Should have been in GF Core…

This is GREAT! This is saving us a ton of time. We used to do stuff like this “by hand”, it’s nice to not have to spend the time doing it.

Quick and easy way to fill a big gap in the main GravityForms functionality. Thanks for writing this plugin!
]]>Rating: 5 stars
I spent the better part of an hour searching the GF forums and trying various solutions, including jLabel, to no avail. Then found a reference to this plugin. It worked like a champ. Installed and activated it, added the gplaceholder class to my form, and *presto*! ??
One request for the future … allow leaving off the “*” for required fields.

Thank you.

Good Stuff
]]>Rating: 5 stars
and that’s good enough for me!

Installed easily. I tested it in ie7, 8, 9, chrome, firefox and works great.
It is not designed to work on select fields. For select fields, I eliminated field labels through CSS* and used the first value of each select field as a label.
*select field css:
#gform_wrapper_11 .gfield label {display:none !important}
Change the “11” to the number of your form GF ID.
Nice work neojp.

works great. I agree this needs to be part of gravity forms, but this plugin is a great patch until that happens. Thank you!!
]]>Rating: 5 stars
placeholders should be part of gravity forms, but until then, this plugin will do.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
Just tested it.
Seems to work pretty fine.
I also gave it a Test in IE6 & IE7.
Good Job. Thanks!
