Since the plugin seems to be abandoned I am hesitant about using it. Does anyone know an alternative that also works with native Gutenberg blocks.

Sliders doesn’t show the same way on Google and Safari.
It’s perfect on Google : all images are displayed at the same height, no matter it’s a portrait or landscape which is perfect. But on Safari all images are cropped.

Can you help solve this please?

Firstly, Gutenslider is awesome. It’s the best slider for WordPress hands down.

One issue though, when using the ‘change content position’ buttons to choose where in the ‘grid’ the blocks you put in a given slide will appear you can’t have them obey your overall site’s content width. So if you left align the blocks within a slide, say a text block within a group set to ‘Inner blocks use content width’ it will never line up with the horizontal nav bar’s menu on the left for instance at the top of your site.

Are there any plans to implement this @eedee? Although I notice as the plugin author it appears you haven’t replied to anyone here in around 8 months or so…and the plugin hasn’t been updated in 9 months….I really hope this plugin isn’t dead ??

Gutenslider used to work perfectly on this page. Now there are two horizontal bars below the slider that should not be there. I’m sure there is an easy way to disable them but I haven’t found it. A clue would be appreciated.

recently the gutenslider can no longer be edited and displayed in the Gutenberg editor. It works in the frontend.

Updated a client’s local site to test plugin updates + WP core major revision (6.6) updates and I’m encountering an issue where the page editor hangs as Yoast SEO is performing its on-page keyword analysis, and the conflict appears to be caused by the presence of Gutenslider 6.1 blocks.

Disabiling either Yoast or Gutenslider fixes the script conflict, but I can’t even use the debugger to find the script in question because the browser tab gets so thoroughly hung.

Great plugin! We are currently replacing Smart Slider 3 with Gutenslider. In the settings for the Gutenslider Pro block it looks like it is possible to unlink the ‘Show Arrows’ on various devices. And we would like to hide the arrows on mobile. However, it seems it always resets back to a linked setting after an update and a refresh. Or perhaps we have misunderstood the meaning of the link here?

It could be nice if the Transition animations could also be different on various devices, however thats a feature request and off-topic, I know ??

When i create a slide, it also creates a paragraph block on each slide.

If i delete them (that need to be deleted twice for no reason). After i reload the page, the paragraph blocks reappear again.

Hi, after moving my website to wordpress.com hosting I get this error. Custom posts are no accessible if Gutenslider is active. If I deactivate it they become accessible in the backend, while they are never accessible on the front-end. This issue never occured with previous hostings.

Is it possible to reduce the height of the background box that contains a caption? As shown in the example page I’ve provided, there is a bit more white space than I’d prefer to see. If I could control the height and width, I could minimize the amount that the Caption box is obscuring the image.

We run accessibility audits on our client sites, and when we use Gutenslider, we get a lot of major (Level A) errors. The problem is due to the fact that the Button element is used to navigate between slides, but the element that Gutenslider outputs is empty and has no accessible name.

According to our audit, there are a number of ways to fix this:

• Add text between the button start and end tags
• Add a title attribute
• Add an aria-label attribute
• Add an aria-labelledby attribute
• Add an img alt attribute if the button contains an img element

Could you please choose one of these and update the plugin to make it accessible?

We use a self-made WordPress theme that behaves like a SPA through Swup.js

The problem is that the plug-in looks at whether the page uses a Gutenslider and then adds various JavaScript files & functions in the footer.

Because Swup.js does not actually reload the page, we often experience plug-ins that no longer function properly. By placing an init function in an eventListener, the plug-ins often work correctly again.

I currently have an empty Gutenslider in the footer so that the necessary JS files are present on all pages.

Now I’m just looking for a function that I can call to initialize the Gutenslider. Does anyone know what function I can use for this?

When adding an image as background to a slide, if choosing to put it as “cover”, the image gets too amplified and looses quality.

when I add the same image as a background in a page, like this one: https://dsaa.fr/relancez-votre-sante-gestion-saine-du-poids/ , it doesn’t loose quality.

Is there a way to make the image rendering to behave as it does in the second exemple?

All set slide spacing got reset after the update from 5.10.1 to 6.1.0 version. Also Spacing tab got removed from the block settings. In the changelog I see Add Styles tab for block padding + spacing, but I can’t find it (I flushed browser cache)? – Also can old spacing values be saved after the update?

Hi, the gutensliders on my website work fine when I am logged in and when I turn off caching. However when I turn on WP Fastest Cache the slider no longer slides. I want to selectively exclude gutenslider css and js from caching or minification. Which scripts and css files do I need to exclude? Could you maybe write a blogpost on gutenslider.org or add a FAQ about this?

Since one of the last plugin updates, the loop option is no longer working in my slideshows that has slides to show set to auto. (It works fine if the slides to show are set to 1.)

I have an issue where I get the “Sorry You Are Not Allowed to Access This Page” error when accessing /wp-admin/site-editor.php (the Appearance -> Editor menu) as an admin user.

I have narrowed it down to the Gutenslider plugin in a Multisite install (1 website). I simply disable the plugin in the Multisite network admin area and I get access again. I have toggled it on/off multiple times now to verify this.

Updating from WordPress 6.3.1 to 6.4.1 did not change anything. I’m on Gutenslider v6.1.0 (I had automatic updates on…)

Can images be automatically resized to a fixed height without cropping, regardless of the original image dimensions?

For example, if an image has a height of 800 pixels and a width of 600 pixels, and another image has a height of 600 pixels and a width of 800 pixels, upon uploading both images, the first image would be automatically resized to a height of 600 pixels and a width of 450 pixels.

Is this feature currently available or planned for future implementation?

Since updating plugins and wordpress version the size of the photos in my slider is no longer filling the width of the page. The photos used to be the full width of the page. I have spent a couple of hours messing around with it and cannot find out what’s gone wrong! many thanks in advance if you are able to help.
