Your plugin looks very good, but maybe there is a small bug with the localisation. On WP 6.5.3 everything is displayed in english, though the site is configured in german language. There are german translations in /wp-content/languages/plugins/, but they are not used.

This is still broke, there was some code that could be inserted to the js but the funtions were changed. I can not find “dunctions “navigation.” What is the solutuion for the “All”.

Sorry to start a new thread on the “All” filter not working, but the previous ones on this topic are closed. The problem still exists in version 1.2.4.

juvavtdf‘s script seems to work. I found another fix by updating
ht-glossary-frontend.js.

Changed lines 66-71 (the else section of function “navigable”) to:

  section.filter(function() {
     $( this ).css( "display", "block" );                       
  })

Hope this helps someone else.

Hi, we installed “Heroic Glossery” for setting up language specified glosseries for an inhouse styleguide. We have started this project back in june/july 2022 and since, we haven’t edited it anymore.
We want to start editing again but that is currently not possible because we run into the following:

The following message is showing in the editor:
“Your site doesn’t include support for the Heroic Glossary block. You can try installing the block, convert it to a Custom HTML block, or remove it entirely.”
With the 2 options: “Install Heroic Glossary” and “Keep as HTML”

When choosing “Install Heroic Glossary,” it gives this error:
“Error registering block. Try reloading the page.”

After reloading the page and trying again to “Install Heroic Glossary” it keeps showing the error.

“Keep as HTML” will not be an option.

How can we get to edit again?

Hi Heroic Glossary,

First, I would like to give my appreciation to the plugin. The style of it suits my website and it works great.

However, recently I found that the search bar does not appear on a published page. When I edit the page, the search bar and “+” blocks gives me: “This block contains unexpected or invalid content.” When I recover the block, it appears and I can search and input new terms, but this only works when editing. The published page still does not show the search bar.

I tried deactivating and activating, and I also tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling again. It still gives the same problem.

Do you have any solutions to fix the missing search bar problem on published pages?

I think it’s been very useful for multilanguage websites. Of course, the best option makes capability with one of the popular switchers, as Polylang.

I’m using Heroic Glossary plugin in my WordPress 6.1.1. site with a customized theme. When I try to edit my glossary items with the gutenberg block editor, I get the white screen of death. I suspect it is because the Heroic Glossary plugin is only compatible up to WordPress 6.0.3. Will the plugin be updated to work with 6.1.1. anytime soon?

All other Letter work fine, A B C etc.

How can we fix the “All” Link? Or can we hide it? It would be enough to show A B C D … without the “All” for us.

Hi is it possible to have it load from the first letter that is not empty for example just the A instead of the full glossary, my list is very long and it struggles with such a long list its around 100 items only have it on a local test at the moment, but would be nice to not have the entire list load at once, please let me know if there is any way to do this?

I was attracted to use this plugin by the advertising in the description: “Heroic Glossary has full translation and localization support”. However, as far as I can tell, this is not quite true. I could find the French localization and a Spanish one was mentioned in the forum, but what about other languages and alphabets?

More concrete questions:

1) The French localization is included in the plugin but how do I load it on my WordPress page? I cannot seem to find a way to change the language while using the plugin.

2) What would be the best way to change the plugin if my language (Estonian) uses Latin alphabet with some additional letters (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ü) and the order is a bit different (Z is positioned after S)?

After creating a glossary in a page. I can’t seem to edit the glossary anymore.
I use latestet versions of wordpress and plugin.

Every time I create a new post, a new error AMP comes out.

I will start by saying that Heroic Glossary is one of the best glossary plugins available. The instant search and the ease with which you can insert terms are absolutely amazing. With that being said I want to express also my concerns related to this plugin. I want to add a dictionary (glossary) to my medical website which is quite vast and it will take a lot of time, and I’m afraid that without an export feature I risk losing the entire work without any chance to recover it. Secondly, I want to know how this plugin contributes to my website SEO, a feature that can include terms in WordPress search can also be considered. And the last thing I want to add: a feature that can allow users to insert an ads code (AdSense, etc) which can show ads, let’s say, after every 4-5 terms.
From all these suggestions I wrote you, I think the first one is critical, and having that implemented will give users a sense of security and ownership over their work.
Thank you for reading this and I do really hope you will consider inserting at least one of the suggestions above.

Great plugin, simple UI for both admin and the end user.

However one very important feature is missing, and that is to export the glossary database as a readable CSV or other similar option.

There is no import option, so users must manually build a large database of terms and descriptions, with no way to back it up in a readable format, should the site stop working for whatever reason.

If this feature could be added, it would be a great help. I’d pay for a premium version even, to unlock this feature.

I have found a bug or an strange behaviour when I do a search and then press the “All” filter option.

First I Insert a word in the search field and it show all the corresponding words with the corresponding terms.

Then if I click on the “All” filter et show all the letters without the terms and descriptions.

I have searched in po file but haven’t seen the words that appear in the frontend view and that have to be translated to selected language, in my case Spanish.

How can we translate the words “Search the Glossary…” and “All” in the frontend?
