Hello!
1st question/issue: The reason I need to hide featured image on the post is that is does not add to the post, but I need it to show when the post is shared and in the related posts widget. I love that this plugin does not leave a huge empty gap like the other one I tried, but it is not showing the image where I need it. If I did not need it at all, I simply would not add it. How do I fix this?
2nd question is does this plugin work with Featured image from URL?
Hello,
I have checkmarked “Yes” on the Hide Featured Image option, and images are not being hidden. Is there something else I have to do for this plugin to work?
Thanks.
Hi there,
1. now issues an error message if no option is selected. This is especially bad for older posts. no selectio should automaticly be “show post image” but not an error
2. PHP Notice: Undefined index: _hide_featured in … wp-content/plugins/hide-featured-image/index.php on line 84
Hi there,
I think this is a great plugin to hide the featured image in any post. Nonetheless, it also hides the little thumbnail of the post list on the sidebar when viewing the post in question…
Any ideas?
Regards…
Good day.
Please tell me why your plugin is not working?
In the settings I put everywhere — “Yes”
Thank you, best regards.
I’m using the Hemingway theme 2.0.3
I already configured the plug-in in settings to hide the images with:
-Hide Image from all Posts(not Custom Post Type)? (yes)
-Hide Image from all Pages? (yes)
And indeed it does not show the featured image on the single post but when I choose a specific category, tag or day, the feature image shows, like if it was never erased.
I hope you can help me,
Thank you
it was working with previous theme but for some reason i have to change theme. new theme is divi theme but now i see hide feature image is showing in single post. any help ?
Tested on 5.3.2 and it’s Not working ??
Hello, does you have any plan to update your plugin for WordPress 5.2.x and for Gutenberg? I really need your plugin.
Thanks
I use the Divi theme. I have selected Yes to hide the featured image on this page, yet it’s still visible above the header. How do I resolve this problem?
Thanks.
It works great removing the featured image but, if a caption is set on the image, the caption is not hidden.
Can you make this plugin also hide the caption?
I can delete the caption in the media library but there are times when I want to reuse the image elsewhere with the caption so I prefer to keep it with the image in the media library.
Many thanks.
Hi!
I have installed Hide Featured Image plugin, it worked fine a couple of weeks, but now featured images are appearing on the top of the post again.
Could you help me?
WP Version: 5.0.2
Thanks!
Hello,
I have installed Hide Featured Image plugin. Although I have selected Yes from Hide Featured Image options on individual post page, featured image is still appearing on the top of the post.
Could you help in turning off featured images on individual posts?
Thanks!
Hi
Is this plugin working with Gutenberg?
I know this plugin hides featured images in regular posts, but is there a way to edit something so that I can apply it to custom posts “story”? I’d like to keep them but remove them for specific posts, like when displaying videos. See url linked above.

I dont want an image in the post, I just want the correct thumbnail to be scraped for links to the post.
Without a featured image, they automatically display a thumbnail from the main page of the site. With a featured image, they display the correct featured image as a thumbnail, but then the image appears full size at the top of the post. I dont want an image in the post, I just want the correct thumbnail to be scraped for links to the post.
This plugin doesnt work.
On post:
“Hide Featured image” set to yes
nothing
In Settings:
“Hide Image from all Posts(not Custom Post Type)?” Set to Yes
“Hide Image from all Pages?” Set to Yes
Still doesnt work.
Upgraded to WordPress 4.9.8
Still doesnt work
Ive tried removing the featured image and inserting the image as “div style=”display: none;” in the post.
Still the wrong thumbnail is scraped
plz help!
It seems that the plugin does not work with WP Theme Twenty seventeen:
I have set the radio box “Hide Featured Image” to “Yes”, but unfortunately there is no effect.
Is this a known problem?
When I hide all pages featured images, it’s affecting my custom post type images as well. Would be much better if you allowed users to select which specific post type(s) to hide images on.
Plugin is very useful and I hope to see this feature in a future update.
Thanks,
Gregor

Hi there,
I have featured images that are showing up at the top of my pages. I have just made my header larger and its now covered on desktop but on mobile it is still there and I cant fix it. I installed hide featured image plugin and it hasn’t changed anything.
How can I get rid of featured images on my pages.
Regards
Chris
Hello, your plugin is great. However, when we activate the version of our site for amp, the images continue to appear, I tried to modify manually and did not work very well. Would you point the right way?
I am using the “Hide Featured Image” plug-in in an effort get rid of the big empty box in the middle of my product pages. It works. However, when I do this, it negatively affects the images in the product gallery below. To see what I mean, please refer to this page which has the featured image hidden: https://www.larashouseshelter.org/product/tshirt/
When the plug-in is set to “off” on the page, the product photos are coordinated properly with the color option chosen & that part works like a charm.
How can I get them to both work together?
THANKS
i have “YOU MAY ALSO LIKE” at the bottom of my posts which are similar posts of what they are reading and it takes the featured image away from that as well. Anyway to leave featured images there?
I hope I can explain what I am trying to do. On my website, I have pages. On each page there are posts that has featured images. I would like to hide the featured image on the post but at the same time, have an image on that post that links to another page. When I create the post and click preview, everything works fine. The problem comes in when I try to go on a page and click an image. Both images shows up. Is there anything I can do to fix this.
Thank you in advance
hi i am using the clean portfolio theme, although there is no support topics created for them as of yet.
I am wanting to hide the featured image for all pages but leave the home page showing.
I have tried some codes ive found on here but it does nothing.
the site is not live as of yet for this reason if you could help with the css code that would be great
Lots of reports that this plugin has stopped working. I applied the following changes for a client to temporarily fix it until the developer gets around to in.
It appears that the CSS tag wp-post-image is not getting on to featured images any longer. To fix this, I edited the plugins index.php, looked for the if( $hide )
code block and changed the style that gets added to the page to the following:
if( $hide ){ ?>
<?php
}
There is likely a more elegant solution to this, but this one will get you through.
The hide featured image plugin stopped working ??
Any plans to update?
Hello, I think your plugin is great and I use it on various blogs.
I think it should actually be a basic WP feature that should come standard.
Unfortunately, the plugin is not working on this blog using a ChimpStudio theme:
https://algarveportugal.co.uk/visit-loule-in-algarve-portugal/
As you can see, the featured image is showing up on top.
As you know, it is useful to hide the featured image because some social media uses it to autoomatically display the featured image everytime a link gets posted.
Also, the featured image shows up in previews and one may not necessarily want to include that image in the actual post.
Thank you for making a great plugin. If you have a workaround, please let me know.
Cheers
Hello there,
I have a problem with your plugin. It is for following page
Example here: https://www.testly.de/autoradio-mit-navi/
I want to remove the featured image and put also yes in the post options for that. It unfortunately still shows up. Can you help me with that?
I already followed your tasks here https://leijingwei.com/how-to-hide-featured-image-of-wordpress-theme-latest/
I really need your help. Kind regards
Christian
Here’s a temporary fix I use to hide header images on single pages but not on the homepage (when you agregate many pages). Add this on line 110
in index.php
in the plugin directory:
.single-featured-image-header { display: none !important; }
just below that line:
if( $hide ){ ?>

.has-post-thumbnail img.wp-post-image{ display: none !important; }
in the sh_featured_image
function.
