I tried removing the “by” that was before removed author using first CSS and then the PHP option, but neither worked.
]]>Hi
The page is just an example. All blog pages (used by the glossary) are in the same situation.
The author and the icons are still displayed. I have checked the php option as it did not work at all with the CSS.
An idea of how I can resolve this problem and have neither the name, nor the date, nor the icons?
Thank you
Carole
Hi,
I want hide only the author name: with CSS method don’t work, with PHP works, but author’s ICON remain, can you help me please ?
Thank you
]]>Hello,
I used the PHP setting to successfully hide the metadata, but now I want Google to show the date my content was published so I turned the setting off in the plugin, then deactivated it.
I check to see if the date and metadata is showing up in Google, and it isn’t.
I’m wondering how to reverse the changes the plugin has made to my site?
Thank you.
]]>Hello,
First, thank you for getting such an add-on to your ecosystem.
When I use the plugin with the Rank Math Seo plugin, I can see the user’s nickname in the source code of the pages. I wanted to give a feedback on that.
Kindly Regards.
I had great success with using this plugin on one of my websites, so I decided to add it to another website of mine to remove the author name that was showing up in the preview generated by metadata scrapes on services like Discord.
However, after installing and activating the plugin on my second website, posting links to the page still shows the page’s author in previews. How do I fix this?
@maheshmaharjan Do you know what I can do about this?
Thanks
I installed the plugin and selected CSS + Hide Author but without any results. ?? Also tried PHP + Hide Author. No results ether. Author name is still visible. ??
Details :
* I tried with 2 different browsers : Google Chrome (version 87.0.4280.67 for macOS) and Apple Safari (14.0 for macOS).
** I’m using WordPress 5.5.3 (latest version) + Neve theme (latest version 2.9.3) by ThemeIsle.
UPDATE : Finally I discovered that the Neve theme itself has an option to toggle the visibility of the Author field. So I activated that and removed the Hide/Remove Metadata plugin.
]]>Your plugin has a setup screen that appears on the top level of the dashboard menu, and is two lines long. Any moderately complicated website already has a ridiculously long dashboard menu, and the settings of your plugin are SETTINGS — they should appear in the settings menu. Thanks.
]]>Hi
We recently uploaded the Hide/Remove Metadata plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/hide-metadata/ to our multisite network and were unable to enable the plugin.
The error is:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Can’t use method return value in write context in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/hide-metadata/hide-metadata.php on line 217′
Can you let me know what is causing the error?
Thanks
Caroline
I noticed after installing this on different multisite networks. I install, network activate, then go to a site to turn on PHP and hide author, then save. But only the PHP setting is saved. If I go back then turn on hide author again and save, it works.
At first I thought it wasn’t working, but it does work if you save the Hide Author setting separately from the PHP setting…
]]>I have tried with both settings turned on but the author and date still shows on my posts.
I would actually like the date, just not the author so I have show date turned on but the show author turned off. They both still show. This is also a Catch theme.
If I use the hide by php it works though. I have left it hide by CSS for you to see.
]]>First of all, thank you very much for your hard work. This plugin can delete the author’s name, but the icon in front of the author’s name cannot be deleted. Visitors can still access all the articles of the author through this icon. I hope that subsequent updates can solve this problem!
