tweaking the code for this plugin, and making it work in WP 3.8.1? As others have mentioned in their own separate threads, in 3.8.1, the plugin DID seem to upload the images to the posts. However, the posts do not seem to be updating the image references within to their new locations, locally, nor are being set as the featured image.

I am migrating old site from custom coded to WordPress.

With this plugin all images imported from remote location and saved in upload folder with random generated names. But, not any entry created neither in Media Section nor in Posts. (Obviously, if not created entry in media section, so can’t be added in posts)

I think this plugin has a good idea going, but I think it should edit the post’s content to reference the local file instead of just copying the file to the server and not “using” it anywhere. That would make this plugin usable to me; without that functionality, it isn’t for my purposes.

After processing, message pop that all are processed, but none of the URLs are changed to local. still pointing to external server. not working for me. sorry, no time to put more details. found other plugin that works.
