After installing the latest 2.5.31 update, the plugin gives a fatal error and will not activate. Could you please tell me how to fix it? The version of WordPress 6.6.1.
Thank you!
]]>Hello bPlugins Team,
please keep your changelog updated. Your current version is 2.5.28 for a week now, but the changelog hasn’t been updated so far and stuck to 2.5.27 at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/html5-video-player/#developers – this way an update is kind of a blind flight.
Thanks for your work,

Hi there,
we faced the fact, that an Domainreseller owns the domain “shehabulislam.com”. Is this domain used within the plugin?
We use the plugin in pro-version and detected some request of our users to this domain. Our security-system don’t like the requests, cause it have some concerns with the IP-Adress which is now used for shehabulislam.com
Do you know the reasons of the request and maybe how we can stop them?
Thanks a lot.

looking in zip file, indeed it is. seems to be expecting it in wp-content/plugins/html5-video-player/public/js/hls.min.js

Or is there another way to truly UNMUTE a muted video? Thanks
I recently installed the video embed plugin to embed videos on my website. However, the embedded videos aren’t displaying properly, and some of them appear broken. How can I troubleshoot and fix these broken embeds?
]]>Hi, I hope your day is going well!
It’s possible with your plugin replace all already present youtube video with your player and hide related video at the end without have to edit one by one a lot of video? If is possible how?

]]>Hi @shehabulislam,
we have to report another 404 error in your plugin. Just edit an existing player (on /wp-admin/post.php?post=XXXXXXXX&action=edit) and have a look into the browser console.
You will see the error:GET https://WWW.DOMAIN.TLD/wp-content/plugins/html5-video-player/inc/img/aws.png [HTTP/2 404 463ms]
We think you’ll want to fix this, too.
Thank you again for your work,

Hi @shehabulislam,
we noticed a problem that can make the plain usage of your plugin illegal in the European Union in terms of GDPR. The reason is that you are loading the player JS from an external CDN (cdn.plyr.io).
The website visitor has no chance to decline it: As soon as he enters the page with your plainly installed player, his browser connects to this external source. So the external CDN gets to know about the IP address and so on (that is “individual-related data” from the EU law’s point of view) of the page visitor. This is illegal in terms of the European Union’s GDPR law.
I know European Union might be far away from you but plenty of websites using your plugin now or hopefully in future are located in the EU and you put them all to the risk of getting a written warning with costs of some lawyers.
We had this problem before with an Open Street Map WordPress plugin that did load the map viewer JS from an external CDN, too. This plugin author realized the GDPR problem after we reported it to him and he simply put the JS file into his WordPress plugin itself instead of loading it from the external CDN. This really should be no performance or loading speed problem nowadays – your player JS currently is 112 kB in size.
I hope you realize the importance of this. There are other possibilities like putting your plugin’s videos behind a GDPR consent tool. But you really would make lifes of many (current and future) users (out of about a whole continent) of your plugin more safe or easier by just putting the JS into your plugin.
Would it be possible that you think about doing this? We know EU’s data protection laws often are annoying, especially for programmers in other parts of the world. But laws are laws and money to be paid to lawyers finding such GDPR violations is money. And just putting the JS into your plugin hopefully shouldn’t be such a problem.
We are looking forward to hear from you and thank you a lot for your work,

Hello Shehabulislam, a question about the video-player:
On some devices (mobile phone, tablet) the video is just black – the browser is blocking the autoplay. Is it possible (in the pro-version) to place a picture instead of the black bar?
Thanks! @brisch
Hello Support, after the last update a button appeared, it was not there before (see picture). Where does it come from and how can I delete it (except display:none;)?
Thanks! @brisch
Hi @shehabulislam,
we found the next problem in this plugin in several WordPress installations. You can reproduce it as follows:
GET https://www.DOMAIN.TLD/CURRENT_PAGE_PERMALINK/false [HTTP/2 404 1240ms]
We also tried disabling your plugin and the error was gone, too. So it is for sure a bug in your plugin that can be worked around by uploading a video thumbnail. We think you will want to fix this since 404s on pages are not cool, especially not for Google.
Thank you for your work and many greetings,
-doffine
Hi, love your plugin but this is the third time all videos automatically resize to huge sizes (example: https://www.davidzuker.com/en/portfolio-item/13792/).
I believe this happens when the plugin updates… it’s a shame because there is no way to use this plugin with such a bug.
Yes, I can now resize the 30 videos for the third time, but will have to do it again with the next plugin update… anyone with the same problem?
Thanks in advance.
David
]]>Hi, thanks for the plugin.
my videos are not playing on iphones, any idea please ? we used 14 and 11 but always black screen with blue circle arrow
Hi,
For the past 2 days, the plugin update counter has been showing me 1 update more than the actual number of plugins.
So I did as indicated here (https://wpcreatorsclub.com/wordpress-showing-update-available-but-there-isnt-one-solved/) in order to find the culprit.
And, as you can see here (https://i.imgur.com/UInVQAr.jpeg), the culprit plugin is html5 video player Pro… or I don’t have the pro version…
I deactivated and deleted your plugin; then reinstalled it, downloading the latest version from wordpress, but the problem comes back…
Thanks for your help
]]>Hello, I have same issue of height video that has been changed since last update of plugin, I used to have square videos and square thumbnails, but it changed to 16/9.
The CSS code you provide in the previous post didn’t fixed my issue. .h5vp_player_temp .plyr_wrapper { height: 360px; }
If I checked my source code, I can see that 16/9 is output in HTML :
<div class=”plyr__video-wrapper plyr__video-wrapper–fixed-ratio”; style=”aspect-ratio: 16 / 9;”>
How can I fixed it to 4/3 ? it would be great to have a checkbox to tick to force 4/3 or 16/9
Thank you

Hello bPlugins LLC support team,
we just updated Html5 Video Player from v2.5.14 to v2.5.15. This immediately crashed both of our sites we use your plugin in.
The first site generated a “WordPress technical problem” mail with recovery mode. Here is the error stack shown in the mail:
Ein Fehler vom Typ E_ERROR wurde in der Zeile 30 der Datei /[SERVER-PATH]/wp-content/plugins/html5-video-player/inc/Init.php verursacht.
Fehlermeldung: Uncaught TypeError: method_exists(): Argument #1 ($object_or_class) must be of type object|string, null given in /[SERVER-PATH]/wp-content/plugins/html5-video-player/inc/Init.php:30

The second site simply crashed without any mail and just showed the following PHP error message on frontend:
TypeError thrown
method_exists(): Argument #1 ($object_or_class) must be of type object|string, null given
Both of the websites are WordPress 6.3.2, one uses the current version of the theme “Avada”, the other the current version of the theme “Virtue – Premium”, both installations are running on PHP 8.1.22, all other plugins are updated to their most current version.
PS: Beside this something with your versioning here on www.ads-software.com seems to be wrong. The current (buggy) version of your plugin is 2.5.15 but the changelog on https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/html5-video-player/#developers shows completely other numbers.

Hi there,
Please use the link provided to view a staging website where I’m working to try get the video height adjusted using the plugin or via CSS, I’d like to crop/adjust the height to only 360px or so for a thin video banner. Please assist.
]]>Thank you for a great plugin. However, the plugin overwrites the native WordPress player which is quite impractical.
In all the places where I have use the native player, nothing is showing now — only a blank space where the video should be. If I disable the plugin, the native player returns, so it is certainly the plugin which overrides for some reason. I can’t find any place to edit this? Why would the plugin need to override the native player?
I need the native player for galleries and such, since I can’t add shortcodes to galleries.
Is this an error with the theme I am using? I am building my site with Uncode, which is very popular theme.
]]>Hi there – I’d love the video to be round (like you can do by having a video as a background as a container with a rounded border). The only issue with this is keeping the aspect ratio with responsive pages – so I’d love to use this plug in, but I can’t seem to get it to work.
Many thanks !
]]>Hello,
When I upload square video (1080×1080 px), it shows up rectangle like 16/9 on my webpage, it doesn’t keep anymore the original aspect ratio.
It use to work fine since last updates I guess. How can I fix this ?
thank you
We get this report:
Category:PLUGIN

This could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into your website which will be executed when guests visit your site. ]]>Hi there,
Today bought the Pro version and on desktop everything is working fine but on mobile the video player is not working.
Also your demos on your own website are not working on mobile (iPhone 14 Pro). This video for example: https://wpvideoplayer.com/demo/demo-1-player-with-all-controls/
Can you please fix this?
Kind regards,
Steven
