If you go to https://www.google.com.au/search?q=site:asiantraveltips.com&biw=1920&bih=995&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMInLj5-OfCxwIVgbWUCh2xLAFt#imgrc=DcJIx2lBTiJjZM%3A and click on any of the images there you should, if the plugin works, see the post and not the image, but I still see the image being displayed at its file URL.
What am I missing?

We are using imaguard plugin in one of my websites. Seems a good plugin when I am using it with my localhost websites.

It seems that the instructions mentioned here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nginx-4?replies=9 are for will work when we are using multiple websites on one server but we have dedicated server for this website. So, we are not having vhost.conf file.
Please suggest me where to put this code on server :

Plugin is working great but there is a small problem with the beta feature of the plugin(post page redirect). When I check the option it redirects to the homepage instead of original post page. The originals are not scattered throughout the blog.

We use Jetpack’s “publicize” to automatically share new blog posts on our facebook page. Everything works fine, except the image — if you look through our facebook page, its filled with image-less updates. However, if you click (or inspect) the blank area where the image should be, you can see the actual image (or proper path).
I’m assuming I need to whitelist something in the imaguard settings, but I’m not certain what. I’ve tried facebook.com, but no dice. Any idea what else I can do?

All I want to do is make people come to my site to view the image when they find it on Google Search.
However, I see in the FAQ that I’m advised to put the Google bots in the whitelist, otherwise the photos won’t be crawled.
Doesn’t that mean I’m back where I started?

I followed the instructions but no luck. I tried by updating the permalinks and network deactivating the plugin. I also tried updating the permalinks and deactivating the plugin within the subdomain as well.
This is a great plugin on my single sites… would love to get it working on multi-site. Any advice?

Me again! Got an odd one in that a couple of posts have disappeared on the front end when IMAGuard is enabled.

When I try to click in the fields for the following, I cannot get the cursor to display the input status:
– Text to show over image
– Image darkness
– Text position
– Font size multiple
This occurs even if I click the “show text over image” option. All other options are available to me.
Could this be due to the GD library? If not what am I missing?

Is it possible to have a black list instead of a while list? I’m struggling to keep up with the locations where our images appear e.g. newsletters etc with the ‘click to view’ on it where as really, Google Images is the only place I need this to work.
I wonder if a way round the problem is to have a blacklist instead where all locations are live except that entered in the blacklist if that makes sense?

Firstly, thanks for this wonderful plugin which has solved the recent Google images upgrade for us. I have 2 questions however:
1) Our server is hosted with 1&1 who are currently in the process of upgrading to PHP 5.4. When we add the line AddHandler x-mapp-php6 .php in to our .htaccess file, it breaks your plugin. Is there a way we can solve this having both that line of code in and having your plugin working?
2) We have various systems that pull in images from HeyUGuys like Facebook and Pinterest. I’ve tried adding what looks like their image CDN to the whitelist but the ‘click to view’ still appears. Is there a way round this and can you use wildcards in there? e.g. assets*.pinimg.com

I was wondering how imaguard works with CDN. I’ve got an origin pull CDN set up with Amazon CloudFront and I’m using a subdomain for it. Therefor, all images URLs use this subdomain (typically cdn.mysite.com)
Would imaguard work with this setup out of the box or do I need to do something?
I’m not in a hurry. Like others, I’m waiting for an option to redirect images to the original post where they were first featured.

Interesting plugin and impressive response time (it was created only weeks after Google Images redesign).
I’m using a CDN configured with the help of W3 Total Cache (pull method with Amazon CloudFront). So basically, except for the administrator, all images are served through this CDN. Images URL, therefor, appear as subdomain (i.e. commonly cdn.mysite.com)
Would I need to do something special for this setup to work with imaguard?
No emergency here. As others, I’m waiting for the integration of a per-post redirection (that is, the possibility to redirect the image to the original post where it first appeared).

]]>I have the Imaguard plugin (3.5.1) installed and activated. It seems to be working as it should (non-agressive option).
In image search, if you click on a thumbnail, a slightly fuzzy larger picture opens, then if you click on “View original image”, the picture opens within my blog.
But what I don’t understand – and not even sure if this has anything to do with the plugin – is how the “fuzzy” picture links to the blog. And the same goes for the “Visit page” link.
In nearly all cases, instead of linking to the original blog post as one expects, both links go instead to an index of uploads – for example “myblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/”.
But this doesn’t apply to every image – some link correctly to the blog post. I can’t find any reason for this discrepancy, and why some links are correct and others want to take you to the index of uploads for that month.
Any suggestions or help on rectifying this would be appreciated. Thanks.
]]>So looking through log files it doesn’t appear google or any search engine I’ve whitelisted has had any problems with indexing images, but when pages are recrawled, the images are grabbed with a timestamp. If you do a image search site:domain.com and switch to basic version at the bottom of the page you get image count and can track what is happening. Immediately, it appears the image that was in google images drops and at some point the timestamped image gets added in its place. New images from new stories are getting indexed quickly with the timestamp, but existing images are falling out much more quickly than the new ones get added.
Now if it cycles through once and everything going forward is indexed with a timestamp, that could be okay, but each time a page is crawled I assume the image with a new timestamp will be grabbed, so this churn could potentially keep most images out of the index, since the images fall out faster than the newly stamped images are put back in.

First of all, great plugin from what I’ve read in this forum. I went through every single thread. Your patience and readiness to respond to those with issues is much appreciated, especially when sometimes people are both demanding and less-than-courteous…
Now, unfortunately, I’m having trouble getting Imaguard to work for our site.
Checklist:
The site’s server runs PHP 5.2. DG Library enabled.
WP Permalinks enabled. That’s how it’s been for years.
WP SuperCache cache deleted. Imaguard plugin deactivated and then reactived.
Checked Google Images search on Chrome, both signed in to Google & anonymous browsing.
Unfortunately, neither Imaguard’s “redirect” nor the “show darkened image” option worked for us.
Possible causes for the problem (now it gets a little complicated):
Imaguard modifies the site’s .htaccess file in the “blog” (WP) folder. The site, however, has another .htaccess file in its root folder, “above” WP.
We had an anti-hotlinking protection code pasted there. With or without Imaguard activated, that code works. (Blurry images; but if the browsing individual has signed in to Google, the full size, high-res. image is shown — much to our outrage).
If our anti-hotlinking code is removed and Imaguard is left alone, *nothing* works. In other words, the images on Google Images are loaded full size, high-res. for *everyone*.
We also tried removing our own anti-hotlinking code and pasting the Iamguard .htaccess code on the site’s topmost .htaccess file. That didn’t work either. Hotlinked images were loaded normally.
Important: Our images are NOT wp-upload images. They’re found in a different folder, uploaded via regular FTP, *outside* the WP folder.
Could that be the issue? If so, is there a workaround?
I’d like to send you both .htaccess files and links to the site so you can see for yourself what’s going on, but I’ll wait for your go-ahead before I do so.

P.S. Regarding comments found elsewhere in this Imaguard forum: My understanding is that Google Images sends a blank referrer when uploading your images. We currently allow blank referrers, which helps to explain why our high-res. images are loaded to those who have signed in to Google. Now, we did try blocking blank referrers and that worked in preventing high-res. images from loading to *anyone*. The glitch: Google wouldn’t index our new images and several older ones were dropped from their index. It’s infuriating, maddening, outrageous — but that’s how their system works now. (Until the inevitable class-action lawsuit…)

after searching in google following happens:
click on a picture takes you to directory with pictures on the server
click on view original picture gives 404 error
click on visit website takes to website.

]]>Google has the option view original picture, The redirect to post doesn’t work, it stills goes to the path where the image is restore but than with show-image/?img=/wp-content in the url bar, the image is than still with the overlay but doesn’t redirect to post. I used the hack in some earlier post what you said but that also doesn’t work, if I do that it creates no overlay at all.
