The plugin correctly makes a capital letter for the first paragraph, but not the second (as I check the ‘first line only’ option).
However, if you scroll down the the Contact Form 7 form at the bottom of the page, every line has a drop capital.
How can I prevent this happening? Is it a known conflict with Contact Form 7?
Hello
This is really nice !
But the plugin is adding the dropcap also in blockquotes and in the listing from Subpagelister which is not wanted.
I see it’s injecting a class.. any tips to tell your plugin to avoid some of our contents by id or class exception.
It would be nice to share ! Thx
How to make this work in the “Text Editor” on individual posts? I see no icon or dialog.. Thanks for your help.. Looks great if it can work!
Hi Garrett,
Is it possible to add the Drop Cap on the 2nd paragraph or 3rd rather than the first? (We have our own reasons as the 1st paragraph is considered a subheadline in our design, then name of author, then 2nd paragraph). It’ll be great to be able to choose it for 2nd (or third if name of author is considered a paragraph) instead of first.
Thank you
First, this is a great little plugin. I especially like that it allows you to disable the drop cap on a post-by-post basis. But in addition to wishing it allowed you to disable the drop cap in posts (which you can, at least, bypass by adding a
to the top of the page), we have an issue where the drop cap isn’t showing up on any post where the Featured Image is hidden and the content begins with an inline image (that we have right aligned). My guessis that plugin becomes confused by the code but then it doesn’t drop cap the first letter of the first paragraph.
Hello and thank you for your plugin.
Can you please answer my question ?
Regards
Hi, I can’t disable it on pages, change is not saved.
Hi, I am testing this plugin here and the first letter of the blockquote too is modified. Is there a way to avoid this?

First of all: thanks for this plugin, when one wants to use it for all posts it works fine for me in 4.7.3 so far. But: even though every post in the editor has the option to turn of the initial letter for that single post, once one hits “Update” the setting is reverted to “Yes” and the initial stays, where it was not supposed to.
(I am still in a testing phase of the whole wordpress stuff, so my renewed blog is not online yet.)
Would be nice if that could get fixed.
Thanks ??

hello,
after having activated the plugin i GOT THIS FATAL ERROR:
” Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/lalionne/www/wp-content/plugins/initial-letter/initial-letter.php on line 65 ”
Help will be much apreciated
Thanx
Thanks for this plugin. I tried to UNCHECK disable in excerpt (i.e.
) but it keeps on showing up. Is this a bug? I will appreciate any help.
As I have been able to figure out, including by disable all plugins, as I see it, it is Siteorigin Page Builder that does not like Simple Drop Cap or vice verse!

otherwise I have no manual so I do not know how I have to see if it works
merci beaucoup
The plugin changes the first letter of the “author name” info, instead of firs letter of paragraph.
It would be great to have the option to disable the initial letter on excerpts (for example on archive pages, search pages ro anywhere there is just the excerpt of the article).
Hi there! Love this plugin, however, my initial letter is overlapping the following text in IE and Chrome. Works great in Firefox. Do you have a fix for IE and Chrome, please?

Great plugin, thanks for it! Is it any possibility to make the font size bigger? Now the maximum font size available in the settings is 50px. Please add more sizes, as I already use a normal text bigger size and there isn’t enough difference between the normal text and the drop cap.
For example I really like the drop cap displayed as on this site:

Hi, I have enabled the plugin on our blog at https://www.everydaycheapskate.com but I do not see any change. I have gone into the settings to make the color black, font size 24, font arial, but it looks the same. Any idea why this might be?
