Doesn’t work. When I activate the plugin and look at my content, I see the annotation box. But when I click upon it, it is blank.

perfect. works like promised.
this is a great tool.
I’m glad that it is still maintained and not dead.

This plugin does something magical. Inline comments are amazing for certain types of content, and so I’m so glad Kevin has put in the time to make this work.
The options could be a bit tricky if you don’t know anything about CSS, but Kevin gives some examples that should work for most themes.
I, for example, had a theme that used a high z-index, which resulted in the comment bubbles being hidden below the article text. I added some css to fix that, and pow! It works!
Thanks again, Kevin!

It is pure gold in the era of the platishers. I am impressed. Wish to find out how to make it work properly with Generate Press…

THE GOOD:
I’ve been testing this plug-in for a few days. For the desktop, it is great – as close to Masahble.com as you can get. Great job! Getting the styles adjusted is beyond most folks ability, but the plug-in has a really great interface to customize colors and settings. It is one of the best plug-in backends I’ve seen.
THE LESS THAN GOOD:
The problem is, that the plug-in does not work on small screens such as phones. The comment bubbles appear, but the comment form does not.
It is entirely possible that it will work for you, but it did not work for me. For now, I have deactivated the plug-in, but am waiting to work with Kevin to get things sorted out. It is very difficult to make a plug-in work with all themes, especially on small screens, so it may just be me and my theme.
As a temporary solution, I may just add the following CSS to my mobile @media queries:
/* hide the Inline Comment bubbles on small screens */
div.incom-bubble.incom-bubble-static.incom-bubble-style {
display: none;
}

Great plugin. Great developer. Developer points you out in the right direction if the plugin doesnt fit out the box with your theme.

Did I understand that right, that you have removed the Disqus integration completely? Even the option of using it? Cause I’d prefer to use Disqus :/
Thank you
Robin

Great job!… Especially for static documents where no additional edits/revisions will ever be made.
However, if changes are introduced into a document, a comment thread previously attached to a particular paragraph will be ‘moved’ to a different paragraph. This is assuming the selector chosen is p(aragraph).
I can imagine it to be a tricky piece of coding to make comment threads stick to the original paragraph/content they were attached to, but I wonder if this is something that’s been considered before and is needed by others?

First the inline comments don’t appear. Second, all comments across the blog end up to linked to a single post.
In other words, broken.
Also, similar issues have been raised in the forum, but support is not provided anymore.

Recent addition of comment ‘Reference’ link really improves usability.

I’ve tried Livefyre Sidenotes, as I love the way Medium displays comments. Given I chose my theme because of its similarity to Medium, I wanted a similar comment system, but Livefyre Sidenotes had some quirks to work out.
This plugin is perfect. Clean, intuitive, still unobtrusive, and some great back-end options for really styling to your own preference. Oh, and great support from the developer too – a win all round!

Good customizable plugin. On click comments can be displayed right of the referenced paragrahs. That is very helpfull, to discuss long posts and pages. Thanks to Kevin Weber. Very good and fast support ??

I thought the plug in worked well well and will be useful in longer essays with multiple sections. I found the developer to be prompt in answering questions and flexible when responding to suggestions.

This is a plugin that I’ve always wanted, and now you’ve made it! Great job! However, I also would like to voice that it would be nice if it had the option of being divorced from the Disqus platform.

I was looking for a similar plugin for a very long time. The new update with WordPress comments just makes it even more useful.
