This plugin uses it’s own alternative authentication method for the WP-JSON API instead of the native application passwords provided by core WP or more secure alternatives explained in the WordPress developer docs.
After examining the code a bit further to find out why the authentication always returned a 401 in our setup, we’ve discovered it tries to login and run it’s code as the first (random) administrator account it can find in the database.
Just terrible…

This plugin does enable you to connect a WordPress website to Make.com
But it’s also very buggy, conflicting with other plugins. For example, when the Make.com plugin is enabled, and I try to change the configuration for another plugin, the site crashes. I disable the Make.com plugin, and I am able to then update another plugin’s configuration.
And I saw this error in my website’s error log today:
[30-Aug-2024 16:31:15 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /home/sitename/www/wp-content/plugins/integromat-connector/settings/object-types/class-post-meta.php on line 31
I’d love to see Make.com update this plugin, addressing the issues its got playing nice with other things on a website.

Installed this on multiple sites to help collect various data and expose to an API. Worked great on all sites and made the data connection super easy.

Simple to use and works well. It’s been rock solid so far.
Initially, I was trying to use a different plugin to achieve the same thing because of the poor reviews this plugin had. That was complicated, and I couldn’t get it to work. I then tried the Make plugin. At first, it didn’t work because there was a conflict with the other plugin. However, as soon as I disabled the other plugin, it worked fine.

Make.com is one of the best automation plugins available for WordPress. I have been trying Zapier and other extensions, but the support team of Make.com got your back. Their automation settings are endless and their theme is willing to help you out! 5/5 and A+++ rating!!

When Make took this plugin over from Integromat, they broke the ACF integration. Custom fields can not be mapped to another app. At least custom Contact fields don’t show up in the pull down. So in my example, I can’t pass a phone number or street address from WordPress to Google Contacts. MAKE made it BROKEN.

This plugin is old-school and is getting only minor updates.
We are in need of webhooks, i.e. triggering Make scenarios on publishing of articles (realtime, not polling).

I saw a number of negative reviews of past versions because of slowness, and post on forum [www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-plugin-will-crash-bigger-sites/] documenting the problem.
( Note: I have to remove links from the review, as they are not allowed… Just add https: / / in front of links. )
It seems fixed in version 1.5 . Looking at code, class/RestResponse.php no longer does a big JOIN (old code: getMetafieldsWithPostTypes in [plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/integromat-connector/trunk/class/RestResponse.php?rev=2476182] ). Instead now (new code: [plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/integromat-connector/trunk/class/RestResponse.php?rev=2704186] ) it merely calls register_rest_field following the options you set for metadata to add to posts. From my shallow understanding of the problem, this makes the problem fixed, as it no longer queries database for a huge data.
I would recommend developers to address this better on the forum. The current negative score of the plugin is alarming. If the critical problem was actually solved now -> please communicate it clearly on forum, to hopefully get people to test (esp. the ones experiencing problem in the past), confirm, and make better reviews. And if the critical problem actually still exists, I’d like to know about it.
The forum thread [www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-plugin-will-crash-bigger-sites/] is closed without any answer, which is a pity. The only acknowledgement from devs is short “Fix plugin slow down” on [www.ads-software.com/plugins/integromat-connector/#developers] at 1.5 — this is too short ??

Integromat can’t deal with Multisite, very pathetic

This plugin is very important, the community doesn’t know the usefulness of Integromat (now Make). I need to use WordPress + Make. Please!!

The lack of attention this connector has received from Integromat/Make is disgraceful. WordPress is the most popular CMS in the world and they couldn’t bother to provide a connector that doesn’t grind servers to a halt thanks to unlimited memory consumption. No updates for the better part of a year now. Instead of spending millions on a domain name, maybe invest in some developers.

As said @ibes above, the plugin exausted the memory from the server and crashed my website:
Um erro do tipo E_ERROR foi causado na linha 76 do arquivo …/plugins/integromat-connector/class/RestResponse.php. Mensagem de erro: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4096 bytes)
Worked fine but needs to be fixed urgently.

The plugin is constructed really stupid.
All post and post_meta data will be loaded on every page load.
In big sites this will have your server go insane and also for small sites this will burn so much unnecessary energy.
This needs to be rebuild and should not be used.

The plug-in works like it states. For connecting integromat for your wp solution. All functions work, but with one flaw. The plug-in calls everytime you open a post, page or any kind of object page with content. Meaning that your whole backend becomes 20-30 seconds delayed when opening a post, page etc. to work with them.
If you can live with this, then install the plugin. Else wait for Integromat to hopefully update and fix this problem.
