The actual form itself is useful and once you’ve set wordpress to use an smtp plugin, invites do show up in email inboxes. But the widget forces double-action, entering emails in the widget box, then again in the form as they are not passed to the form. It would be nice to have a shortcode directly to the form, so that I could make my own sidebar text box using the shortcode to encourage members to invite their friends. I’d rather the sidebar go directly to the form, than force users to enter emails twice.

No responses from plugin author, you’re on your own with a plugin that has unresolved issues.

This plugin is exactly what I needed for my member site, and nothing extra. Easy to set up and works great.

Sending address is [email protected], is there a way to change this?

This plugin is interesting and have a lot of potential for buddypress users, but of course same basic things should be improved. Would be great to know if it is possible to change the sending email adress since that when we send an invitation appears the mail [email protected]
In addition would be great to have a way in the invitation sending to post the member profile od the person that send the invitation

I wish plugins like this were honestly built into Buddypress core (still missing so much). This is a simple to use very functional plugin that will help increase subscribers. Great stuff! Appreciate your hard work.

This is exactly what I needed. As a suggestion, perhaps the invitee should be able to accept, deny, or cancel on the first screen rather than having to read the invitation. The invitee can still read the invitation by clicking the link as it is now and you can still display the same items (accept, deny, cancel) and add “read” to it at that point.

It would appear this plugin has a huge security hole in it, allowing it to be used to send out mass email spam. AVOID.

I’m running the latest invite anyone on a patched 2.1 buddypress. The buddypress had to be patched due to my specific configuration
This setup now basically works, but I think ‘Invite Anyone’ is not used to this configuration yet. When I invite someone on my site Growing Green Cities I get a list of people to choose from from ALL my users, not just the site’s users (this is a buddypress issue which is still open I believe, don’t think it should work like that) but when sending the invites through invite anyone I also get an error message telling me that a user already exists (which is true, just not on that one site but on an entirely unrelated one)
NOTE: I just realized that the problem I described above is actually an information disclosure bug. It’s not just a feature request for a next version, it discloses information on other users on multisite that you don’t want shared with users of one particular site.

The plugin is perfect for fast integration of group invitations in Buddypress groups. The setup is fast and easy.
One of the best parts of the plugin is an ability to import contacts from external email providers by means of CloudSponge service.
Also, Boone provides a rapid and helpful support for the plugin!
Great job!

Alex

This plugin has been perfect for our project. With a growing membership, we need to create subgroups and invite members more and more often. Invite Anyone has made doing so a snap.
One note: once the Invite Anyone dashboard loads, doing a browser page search for a user’s name is even faster than using the built-in search box. In fact, it would even be nice to have classes around the two left-navigation “blocks”:
Search for members to invite
Select members from the directory
Then, I might hide the top box while adding content before, like: “Use your browser to find a name in the membership list, below.”
Thanks, Boone et. al.!
