Hi
Is it possible to reduce the size of the grey frame that’s around the slide. In my case the bottom frame is bigger than the top one.

Hello there,
I’ve just finished a new website for a client and they aren’t happy with the fact that the webpages holding the slider move the content around when you’re reading the content of the web page…
Please take a look here:
https://theshores.com.au/wp/?page_id=76
The transition from image to image is interrupted by the alt text/link that displays before the image display. It also changes the position of the text below the slider depending on how much text is placed with the image.
Is there a way to make it smoother so it doesn’t affect the reading of the webpage content?
Kind regards
Eva Browne-Paterson
Hi! I am working on site, that is on three languages. Slider is meant for central part of front page. It would be fantastic if text and links could be different in each language. But for now Slider is showing all at once. I am using qTranslate… <!–:en–><!–:–>
Is there solution?
Tnx
Hello
I have a featured image and some text in a slide. I have a fresh install of IvyCat Slider on WordPress 3.5.2. The first slide shows text and image. But only the featured image shows after that — even when the rotation returns to the first slide. The text disappears — both the slide title and content.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Firstly I would like to say how much I love this plugin.
Using the nav_arrows the previous arrow appears above the slide and the next arrow appears below the slide.
Is it possible to have the arrows on the same line as the slide i.e. the previous arrow to the left of the slide and the next arrow to the right of the slide?

Hi,
After adding the shortcode for a slideshow and updating my page, WordPress is failing to insert the

tags around all the paragraphs.
I thought the problem may have to do with the fact that the slider is nested inside another shortcode that creates div columns. A quick test disproved that theory.
There is a dirty way to solve this problem which is to choose ‘align: left’ from the kitchen sink for every paragraph on the page. This forces WordPress to keep the

‘s. Obviously I’d rather not do that so if you can shed any light on this issue I’d greatly appreciate it.
Sorry, I can’t give you a link as the website is a production site.
Thanks for a great plugin!

Hi there,
Really intuitive plugin you have here. I’m using this on a WP theme for someone who needs to be able to easily update their slider and this seems to do the trick.
Just a couple of things:
1. If the client is going to add a short code to a post to pull a slide group in, how can that be forced to appear above the navigation? Does this need to be a CSS fix or is there a simpler way?
2. As you haven’t got simultaneous fade in and out enabled on this plug in yet, which part of the JS file do I need to edit to enable this (you mention the jQuery ‘easing’ property in a previous thread, but not sure where it needs inserting).
Many thanks in advance,
Martin

Does this depend on the size of the images? Or?

I added a few new slides to the home page, changed the quantity to match the new slide # and added the order to the slides. Hey there,
First off; great plugin guys. I was looking for something stripped down and more geared towards developers and this is just the ticket.
I have run into a bit of an issue unfortunately. I want to run two seperate sliders on my homepage. I’ve set up each on with the group that I want it to display.
When they start running it all looks good; they pull up like they should. However, when the slider switches to the next slide, my second slider assumes the images in the first slider (second slider is a text-only slider, so the problem is pretty apparent). When I remove the first slider from the page and just run the second one, the second one runs completely fine; no problems at all. So I know that the two sliders work fine independently, but unfortunately they don’t work very well together.
Any thoughts?

Since the latest update… 1.04 > 1.1.0
The groups option does not work any more…
[ic_do_slider group=’my-created-group’]
The slide HTML is still loading inspecting the code. Using [ic_do_slider] does still work.
Also the slide image is not shown via ‘featured image’, but embedding the image in the body of the slide works. Thanks.

I would like to see you wrap the code in the do_slider function so that it returns the generated html.
You cannot control the placement of the html that the plugin generates within a page.
Example. If you enter the following in a page,

Here is my cool slider

[ic_do_slider]

Do you like it?

The way the plugin is generating the html, it will be inserted before the “Here is my cool slider”. not between the text.
you should add all the html to a variable, then use return $html; so that WP will insert the code in the correct location.
Thanks for the code, it does a nice simple clean job.

I really like this plugin and the way it works! However, I only need my slides to be text-based. I’m using an image in the background for each category of slides with css. Is there a way to get rid of the
after the slides? I’m assuming that’s where the image would go? I have it hidden right now with css, but just thought there might be a better way.
Thanks!

I had to change:
define( ‘ICSLIDE_DIR’, dirname( __FILE__ ) );
To:
define( ‘ICSLIDE_DIR’, ‘/wp-content/plugins/ivycat-ajax-slider’ );
Maybe there is a nicer way to fix this, but this works ??

Hey guys.
I just recently downloaded the plugin to test it out. Everything the plugin does it does exceedingly well, but there is one feature I would need before I could use it for client websites… the ability to click through slides via a nav below or above the slider.
Not sure how involved adding something like that is, but if the plugin gets that feature it will certainly be my go to plugin if I need a slider.
Thanks.

Is there a way to adjust the fading of the images so that one image will fade into another instead of having to fade completely out before the next fades in?
I have read another post about “percentage of fade”, but I don’t think the jquery .fadein() will help with what I’m talking about.
It seems it should be in the timing in the .js code, but I just don’t see it if it is.
Thanks!

Hi, I have played with the script to adjust the fade in and fade out speed and interval, but I’m wondering if there is any easy way to adjust the fade amount. Right now each slide fades completely out, before loading the next one, is there an easy way to adjust so that it only fades say 80% out before changing? Thanks in advance.

On the slider posted on the front page (cfsb.info) a small image icon appears along with each slide just above the slide — upper right corner. I hadn’t noticed it as it doesn’t show up in Firefox, but just viewed the page in Safari and it’s there.
Can’t find the reference in the page code, but as this icon fades in and out along with each slide — I think it’s connected to the slider I created.
Any help pointing me to where I can delete this would be appreciated.
