The software from they is not “finished”, have a lot of bugs and when you try to contact they on the support part, you have to wait more than 2 months for an answer and after that the issues are still not solved ( and the issues it’s coming from their side ) . It’s not efficient for a business to wait an issue fix more than 2 months. Also the software it’s made by a single person, the updates are made by the same person and also the support part is made by the 1 person ( the same person ). It’s a waste of money and time if you want to use this for your business.

I have been using Jomres for 10 years now and it has come a long way in that time
Used to use it on Joomla but now have moved UP to WP
Probably the most comprehensive system out there, And I have trilled many!

Do not install this. It is only a web installer, not the actual plugin. The files are loaded to your server from a remote server, which means they are not under monitoring and control of www.ads-software.com – you could be loading anything onto your server. Sloppy server security with plugins is the main reason WordPress sites get hacked.

Why is WP even allowing this in the repository?

Not clear if this plugin is really for wordpress or rather for Joomla !?!?
Everywhere in the admin area is sais “Joomla” – best joomla plugin, greatest joomla installation etc.

Also, none of those plugins are installed or at least installable, so what is that for !??!
How can I get the ‘ajax_search_composite’ plugin istalled ?!? No clue …

Looks pretty complicated but also sort of messy and not very user-friendly ??

We started with Jomres when it first started, over 11 years ago .
The program is super. We’ve recently switched from the stand-alone version to the wordpress plugin.
Really all we needs is in the program and we run for years our rental business of apartments very successful thanks to Jomres.

Important is that by a problem they helped . Jomres is as a partner for us! Fast response, and if necessary remote login and help. Absolutely great.

Having used Jomres with Joomla for the last 3 years and therefore becoming intimate with the software, I was keen to make a transition to WordPress for the benefits that WordPress offers in terms of accessibility and breadth of useful functionality whilst also being easy for the end user to maintain after development.

Jomres is a hefty piece of kit and has so much in it. Some of it is superfluous to some applications. You do not require all the bells & whistles for every site. Like any development project we commence, we need to think outside the box and not expect something to come off the shelf to suit our particular site. That’s the difference between a developer and a hobby user.

Get to know the software and understand what needs configuring to provide the functionality required and the system does all you need in a very sweet way.

WordPress to some people is difficult. Perhaps that’s due to inexperience but again, once you get to know the wordpress, you can create excellent sites in your sleep that can knock spots off Joomla in terms of ease of access and maintenance for end users.

Today I installed and configured a new wordpress site and installed & configured 3 hotel properties and made test bookings and tested payments via paypal sandbox within 4 hours of starting.

Jomres on WordPress is a breeze.

If you are looking for a serious booking system, this is it.

It is not trivial to get to grips with, but there is absolutely nothing else in the WordPress ecosystem that comes anywhere close to this … and, trust me, I have spent years looking, waiting and hoping.

If you can handle the learning curve and if you can understand that Jomres is an application every bit as hefty as WordPress itself, with its own ecosystem of plugins and themes, you will find Jomres terrific.

If, on the other hand, you are not sure whether you have the time or the technical confidence to handle an application this big, try a few of the more light-weight booking plugins first – you may find that one of them meets your needs, at the very least it will give you a good idea of why a proper booking plugin needs to be complicated. If you are providing booking websites on a professional basis, however, and need a reliable product in your toolbelt for year to come, invest your time here.

Rather unfairly, two of the four reviewers so far have given one star reviews, apparently because they misunderstood what Jomres is. One obviously tried to run WordPress and Jomres together on cheap, shared hosting. Remember, a booking engine is highly resource intensive, it has to constantly pull so much information from its database, there is no way around that if you want a proper, fully-featured system, but it should not be an issue if you or your client are selling bookings – the task you are asking Jomres to do justifies getting at least a VPS, and the price of those has plummeted over the past few years anyway.

The other one-star wonder seemed upset that, although Jomres provides great basic functionality for free, it is possible to augment that with premium plugins that provide more advanced features. Again, it is important to understand that this is not just some quick plugin that someone hacked together in their spare time between classes, this is a bridge between WordPress and another, equally hefty application that has been a full-time job for the author for a decade and another programmer for the past couple of years, only a paid business could sustain that level of effort.

Real work and sustained commitment has gone into Jomres. Making the core version free and completely Open Source is a notable act of idealism on the part of the author, there is nothing to stop anyone from sitting down and writing their own plugins for Jomres if they feel that his paid plugins are too expensive.

What keeps the whole show on the road, however, is that, for people who actually need the advanced features, having to pay the reasonable price charged is the least of our worries, we are just delighted that the product exists and that a real company stands behind it … because we will hopefully make a good living for years to come by delivering, to our clients, what only Jomres can provide.

I am hoping to install a wordpress site with Jomres on it very soon, with a 150 properties for short term rental. The team that sells and supports it are very available and want to help.

I have added a “wish” for a desired feature to have a shortcode for each property that can be put into posts / pages. This will make Jomres much more plugged into WordPress.

Jomres now has a single shortcode that can only be added to pages, this shortcode displays the entire Jomres setup for booking with calendar and all, but does not allow using the full array of of tens of thousands of WP plugins since it is “stand alone”. One cannot use Yoast SEO to make each property finadable. A workaround I will use if they do not add the shortcode for each property is to add a hard link with a picture to the property and use features pictures picture, yoast, descriptions, text and more.

I am giving 4 stars since the team are so helpful and expect Jomres to do be more useful as the WordPress community supplies them with useful feedback

In conjunction with a theme from https://www.hermesthemes.com – a great looking site – not had a single issue.

Purchased solo – not used the ticket – forum answered my questions.

Single property – 11 rooms – London UK.

Very impressed – Very impressed.

I did not of research for a good booking system, found couple on codecanyon etc however Jomres is by far the best.

The reason being, its super customisable with lots of updates.

It requires a little bit of learning and patience, if done right you can really build an amazing site out of this program.

I have given it 3 stars as this is a work in progress having only been a wordpress plugin for a few weeks.

As with any new software, it takes time to iron out the bugs etc. so a little patience is required.

I am building a rather large site about Poland so I know that the more you put on a site the slower it becomes on a shared server (the time will come when I will have to transfer to a dedicated one). This booking system can do much more than any other on WP so yes it is large, something like 10meg I believe.

It is only reasonable to assume that something of this size and complex will take time to master and is most likely not for WP novices to attempt to use until they have gained a little more experience.

Based on Bootstrap it goes without saying that it will work best on a Bootstrap theme. You may have to make a few customisations to the theme to get everything to fit in. e.g. padding, in my case.

My hope is this – when you have taken the time and trouble to master it (and maybe help with its integration into WP) you can hopefully operate your site like booking.com and make some money from it.

In the commercial world something like this would cost thousands of GB pounds to develop so what is needed is for WP experienced designers and developers to get on board and test this software out in order to help iron out the bugs.

Well done Vince for bringing this to WP. Keep on working on it for those of us that need it.

As soon as I installed it the blog got very slow, I tried to use some feature but I got errors.
The manual for wordpress is lacking of information.
After I read the support forum I realized it’s already having a lot of compatibility issues with Joomla, I can’t imagine what can happen with wordpress.
In my opinion it’s not very suitable for wordpress and wordpress users.
